Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 15

Location: General Dominic’ residence, Abuja.

Dominic Okegwesi a three star general retired from the military few years ago. He’d resorted to farming. He owned one of the biggest poultry farm in the nation, hundreds of cattle shephered by nomadics from the northern region and fruit trees whose fruit juices were extracted into exotic juice.

The general was as fit as a fiddle, he looked way younger than his age. He still maintains his athletic toned body. He wouldn’t hesitate to work out calories by gyming or playing his favorite game; snooker.

General dominic and his son, henry were in a large room which served as the family gym. Dumb bells, weight lifts, running machine and all were well arranged.

A large billiard board was at the far end of the gym.

He shot the cue ball with the snooker stick he was holding. A red ball rolled into the pocket.

He moved left to aid a perfect aim. He potted a brown ball and smirked victoriously.

Henry watched with great awe at his father’s dexterity. The old man was playing with full deck.

“see? Old hands do the trick” General dominic boasted after potting a green ball. Henry smiled. He wanted to speak but quickly swallowed his words when someone intruded.

The workers should know by now that his father raised brows at being interrupted during his gyming hours. Henry frowned, it seemed to be something serious. Two men dragged their victim before the general.

The victim had pity painted all over his face, he was shivering like a winter wrenched toddle.

“general sir, this man was caught red handed stealing crates of egg” on of the assailants explained with straight face. He was huge in size and mighty in structure.

The general smiled wryly. “my friend, why did you do it?”

the victim was sweating all over, his heart had since engaged in a fast and furious race. He felt like urinating in his pants. He’d heard ugly rumors about the general. Curse devil! Why did he even think of stealing. The devil must be a bastĂ„rd to have lured him to the valley of death.

“
.yet though i pass through the valley of death i shall fear no evil
..”

James silently memorised the only bible passage he could remember.

“sir
..sir
i
” he found himself stammering.

“let him go!” commanded the dreaded general.

James couldn’t hide his joy, he’d started saying his last prayer but halted abruptly.

Streams of warmth and happiness coursed through his entire being.

“thank you sir
.thank you sir” he bowed slightly and made for the exit.

General dominic dugged his fingers behind his trainers, a short gun materialised like magic. With two perfect shots he send an army of bullets into the James from behind. Blood flew out of his mouth as the bullets drilled deeper into his body. James fell face down.

“clean him up” Dominic commanded.

Henry froze. He was shocked down to his spine. He knew his father was ruthless and brutal he supposed to be used to it already but he wasn’t. How could his dad be this heartless to burst James’ bubbles in the freshness of the morning?!

“father, that was

”

“that was easy” his father cut in.

A cell phone buzzed, the general stretched forth his hand to a stool and retrieved his phone. He checked the caller I.D before clicking the answer option. He spoke for an average of five minutes then ended the call. He sighed.

“the shipment would arrive Nigerian shore in few days”

“dad, you’ar so keen about the drug business, what if the law enforcement agents find out?” henry asked innocently. He didn’t know why his father chose the illegal path, for goodness sake they already have everything at their disposal!

Dominic wiped his sweats with a white towel. “why you think i allowed your friendship with the IGP’s son? Wise up boy!”

with that, he strolled out of the gym.

Leaving henry in a pool of his thoughts
