Location: Abuja

The atmosphere was damp with cold, hazy with fog. Sun had paved way for red clouds. Gabriel checked his wristwatch for the fourth time. It was 6:05pm. He buckled the seatbelt across his shoulder. Lady blaze would be out anytime soon.

Burnt Orange hyndai sport was parked far west of him. Katarina was on the wheels. They’d watched blaze for several days; the lady was unpredictable and hard to follow. She always wore black shawls over her face when leaving the estate in the evenings.

She plies two different routes in no particular order.

Katarina was on one route and Gabriel on the other. they’d laid their cards well, Blaze would fall victim tonight!

Her ear vibrated, she inserted a finger in it.

“blaze has left her house. She’s taking your direction and she’s alone”

katarina grinned. “good but i need details.”

“a black SUV would drive past you in 360seconds. Bingo! Thats miss blaze”

“relay to Gabriel”

“done”

Jayden replied gleefully.

Katarina got off the car. It was neatly parked in the walkway. She opened the bonnet and stood akimbo looking at it like the car broke down.

Exactly 356 seconds afterwards, black SUV drove past her. It must be blaze! At the drop of a hat she gnt in the car. Blaze was driving slowly, she tagged along making sure she wasn’t too close to raise suspicion nor too far to see blaze’ car tyres.

Blaze adjusted her rear view mirror. A car was expertly following her. Whoever it was, he must be a trained op.

She smiled, took a left turn and stepped on the accelerator.

Blaze tapped the mini computer on the dashboard. She was automatically connected to Jones.

“find everything you can about the person following me. How long would it take you?”

“some five minutes”

“you have three minutes! Get to work!”

two cars were ahead of her, one was a long lorry. She increased her speed to 110km/hr. In no time she’d overtook them. Tyres screeched as she expertly swerved off the road to a narrow untarred path. It was covered in tall grasses.

Katarina maneavered past the cars ahead of her, she too increased her speed in synchrony to Blaze.

The road was fairly clear, she slammed a fist on the dash board. She’d lost Blaze. Shìt!

“i’ve lost her”

“what?” jayden inquired.

“are you deaf? I said i lost Blaze! Can you track her location?”

“a moment”

Jayden muttered, punching his super computer.

“her car plate isn’t registered. I need time to hack into the police street cameras”

blaze smiled as she watched Katarina drive away. Her smart phone buzzed, she didn’t waste time in clicking the answer button.

“what do you have?”

“from what i’ve gathered. Two cars are following you. I have something interesting”

“lets hear it” blaze replied impatiently.

“Michael, our target is on driving at your 5 o’clock. Searching for you”

Blaze shut the computer without replying. She would end this once and for all, get her brother and leave the country.

She drove out of the bush, towards her 5 o’clock.
