SAYING GOODBYE

when i got out side I saw my friends still waiting for me, the first thing they asked me was, what’s the name of your new school. I told them that it was Greenfield college in Abuja, they gasped with their eyes wide open, Philip who first recovered said, you mean the famous Greenfield in Abuja, the school which always wins the inter school competition hosted by the government between all states in the country. Yes I retorted, you sure are one lucky goat bro congratulations, Maxwell said to me with a smile, he hugged me, Philip joined in the hug and said proudly, I knew my buddy was always destined for great things from the day we entered his room, he just wasn’t ready to accept that fate, but I guessed fate has come knocking on his door.

We laughed over his choice of words, but then I was still sad. Those two guys had always been there for me and showed me things that I could never learn myself, the only thing I ever figured out myself was my books but they opened my eyes showed me other things like football, standing up to the school bullies, even answering questions in class anytime, although I never tried to do that, they understood me, they never left me even after I tried to push them away from myself, they made me understand what friendship means.
