Burn Again

Episode 18

“Are you still there?” I had drifted into thoughts
“Yeah. Sure. Well….” I just had no other excuse to give
“That’s okay baby. Just make it first thing tomorrow.
Hope that is fine?” I smiled to her urgency. She was yet
to see my J0yst!ck but already cannot wait to have me.
Wondered what would happen when she eventually did
“Tomorrow will be fine.” I was stroking my J0yst!ck with
my left hand saying that
“That’s lovely honey. Please make it in the morning. I
will remain home because of you.”
I laughed into the receiver. She chuckled as I did. We
both knew our reasons
“I am serious about the time Dan. Please make it that
early. I know why I am asking you to”, wondered what
else if not for a F**K.

“I will try Ma”
“That’s lovely. Will be expecting you.” She hung up the
call. But just then, she called again. “And don’t call me
Ma, I am Lizzy. I have already heard you call me that
before. Have a nice day love.”
I was in dreamland! Wondered if anybody else had ever
had things happen so easily and fast like I had
experienced. I would be joining the Rowlands by the
coming day. Just simply staggering!!
Celestina, Lizzy’s daughter, received me the following
day when I finally moved out of my hood. I had left
home just a couple of minutes after Eight in the
morning and got to their premises barely an hour after.

Celestina had been instructed by the mum to await me
at a popular bus stop from where she was to lead me
to her place. As usual, she looked beautiful. Just like
her mum. We soon were exchanging pleasantries.

“Hey”, she began as I brought down my luggage from
the public bus that had stopped me there
“Hey. Came to pick me?”
“Yeah. You are Brother Daniel, right?” she had picked
one of the bags and was strolling right beside me
“Yea.” I dint want to give away too much.
She subsequently welcomed me and we both began to
head to her place. She had driven herself to the junction
and was driving us back now. Lizzy was at home as
promised, and as anticipated, more than happy to see
me. I was already wondering how our affair would not
breed a lot of suspicion as one would always wonder
how a mere personal assistant (PA) and his boss could
ever get this free with each other. She soon showed
me my eventual bedroom, which was part of the
auxiliary apartment (boys’ quarter) still within the
compound. Little need to ask if our plan was working.

“You will be bathing, right?” she began moments after I
seemed to have settled. I had returned to the main
building. Celestina was at the kitchen now; preparing
lunch for me, I guessed.
“Not yet”, I just came off a short trip, yes. But I dint
need any bathe this early
“Why? We have already prepared your water.” , she was
smiling while saying those
“Seriously? It’s fine then. I can do with a bath” I was
somewhat getting apprehensive now about the sudden
desperation to get me to bath but never let it get to my
actions
“You will be using the bathroom at my bedroom. That’s
where the bathwater has been served”, I went dumb!
Did she just say her bedroom? With her daughter at
home?

I made to call her back since she was already making it
into someplace I felt was the kitchen but stopped
abruptly. Her daughter was now walking into the living
room. I just could not figure out what was playing out.

“Come and see the bathroom. You can go back and
change later” that was Celestina saying now
“What about the bathroom at the boy’s quarters?” I
sincerely felt worried
“We still need to do some work there. The hired
plumber will be coming to fix it tomorrow”, I sensed she
was sincere with her answer leaving me with little
doubt that she had no hand in what I was now strongly
suspecting to be Lizzy’s renewed plan to get us to
F**K. How that made sense after just an hour of my
arrival, beat me!
