. After dat day, her behaviour towards him

changed. She became friendly nd would always

stop by at d gate each time she passed, to say

“Hello”to him.

Three days after dat day, she saw him reading a

novel called “THE JEALOUS SISTERS ” written by

Chommy Goodness, she was amazed.

Oyin:So u read novels?

Frank:yes i do.he replied her.

Oyin:That’s good, dats my favourite novel too

nd it’s very interesting.

Frank:yea

Oyin:ermm..have u read Amazed scott written

by her? she asked

he nodded nd told her he had read her stories.

her eyes beamed wit surprise.

Oyin:then Y are u wasting ur time here? i mean,

dia are better jobs out there u can do.u know?

Frank:I know,’he said, biting his lips sadly.

But…..

Oyin:But wot?

Frank:I’m poor nd hopeless. he replied sadly.

Oyin:Don’t u have people that can help u? she

asked Y he shook his head bitterly.

Oyin:wot of ur parents?

he drew in a deep breath nd sighed.

Frank:I dnt have parents” he confessed. as she

kept silent for a while.

Oyin:hmmm…wot happened to them? she

asked after a prolonged silence.

. Thats wen frank told her d pathetic story of

how his entire nuclear family comprising his

parents nd four sisters were killed in a car crash

some years back.

Oyin:hmm…am so sorry abt dat.

Frank:I’d have been involved in d accident, bt i

was in school writing my fifth year medical

examination in d university in UK.

he said nd

smiled making him more handsome bt oyin was

not moved.

As he said this, her eyes dropped wide open.

Oyin:U were once an undergraduate?

Frank:Yes!! he nodded nd continue.if not for d

dealth of my parents, I’d have been a medical

doctor by now.

Oyin:So Y didn’t u continue?

Frank:my greedy uncles coveted my entire

father’s property. he even wanted to kill me so i

left d village nd came to lagos.he stopped.

she sighed nd asked him Y he decided to work

as a gateman instead of taking up other

honourable jobs.

Frank:that’s d only job that would offer one free

accommodation.”he said

Oyin:hmmm….u really suffered alot.she said as

tears began to form on her eyes.

Frank:am sorry to cos u this ,he said going on his

knees to wipe her tears.
