Chronicle Of Frank

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 46

…After Two weeks, Mr.otunba douglas was

strong enough to receive visitors. one of them

was his sister,the woman who had begged

doctor frank to perform the operation.

As they were talking, doctor frank walked in with

some drugs to see his patient. immediately the

woman saw him, she fell on her knees and

began to thank the him.she sighed and turned

to Mr.Otunba and told him to thank the young

doctor specially.

“Otunba, he did what very few people would

do.she began..he was supposed to travel out of

the country that very night you were brought

her and there was no other doctor that could

perform the operation, but when he saw you,

he cancelled his journey and performed the

operation”she stopped and stared at Mr.otunba

who turned and said feebly.

“Thank you my son. I’m really grateful for what

you did, may God bless you.he said and paused

for a while then asked doctor frank his name.

“Don’t you remember me, Senator Otunba? he

asked and Mr.otunba peered at his face and

shook his head.

“My name is Frank”,he said.and i used to be

your gate guild some years ago.You sacked me

and threatened to..

“Jesu holy cow! he screamed.for a longtime, he

couldn’t talk.he kept on staring at frank as if he

were a ghost. he couldn’t believe it’s Frank that

was the doctor that saved his life.

Oh my God! No one can predict tomorrow. you

can only know ones today but can’t know his

tomorrow. he said within himself as he continue

to stare at him.

Everything about him smelt

money.

When he finally broke the silence, there were

tears in his eyes and let it flow freely then

turned to his sister.

“Mary, please help me beg this young man on

my behalf. he began as he shed more tears… I

did a lot of bad things to him and I also sacked

him because he was having a relationship with

Oyin.

I also paid some bad boys to kill him just to get

him away from my daughter. he sobed as he

spoke.

I didn’t know that the person i desperately wanted to destroy would

be the person that

would save my life.he stopped and shook his

head bitterly.

Doctor frank was shocked and surprised to hear

that from him, he never believed Mr.otunba

would want him dead.he stared at him and

smiled faintly.

“Sometimes, it’s always like that.he thought and

watched the woman fell on her knees again and

asked him to forgive her brother.

“Pls forgive me, my son. Mr.otunba douglas

finally get down on his knees and seriously

begged him.

doctor frank sighed and stared at him with pity. I

have already forgive you, Sir.I believe God just

wanted everything to happen the way they

did.If you hadn’t sent those men to kill me,

perhaps I wouldn’t have been what I am today.

he concluded while Mr.otunba douglas broke

down and wept.his sister wept too as frank

brought out his handkerchief and began to wipe

away his tears.

Two days later,

While doctor frank was checking Otunba’s blood

pressure, the old man informed him that Oyin

was in town.

“She flew in this morning from london and

would be here today.she would be excited to

see you. he Said and stared at Frank who was

lost in thought as memories of Oyin hit him hard

that he couldn’t wait to see her.he tried to hide

the excitement that shown on his face but

couldn’t.

A faint smile lit up doctor frank’s face and he

said.

“That’s if she still remember me.he said.

Why won’t she remember you? they both

laughed and doctor frank looked at his wrist

watch then told his patient that he would be on

his way.

“I still have a long list of patients to see this

morning. but pls, Sir just do me the favour and

call me whenever she arrives.

I will, my son.he said with a smile.

The doctor left and not quite long after ward,

Oyindamola arrived.

She drove into the hospital with the intention of

seeing her father after so many years..

she stepped down from the car as several

security men followed after her.

she told them to stay beside her car as she

brought out her phone to dail a number.

Meanwhile,doctor frank decided to check on

other patients immediately he left Mr.otunba’s

ward. he walked in haste, twice faster than

norma. he heard someone calling him,he turned

back to look at who it was while still walking but

saw no one, Oyin was also coming into the

hospital but her gaze and focus was on her

phone.

she was too engrossed in whatever she was

doing as she dailed Lisa’s number to tell her she

was back to the country. the deed has been

done before doctor frank could return her gaze

back to the way, they both bumped into each

other.

Oyin loosed her grip on her phone and it

went flying in the air and crashed on the floor,

she quickly bend down and took the phone

which only holds a little scratch on it’s back.

they both raised up their heads in the same

manner and gazed at each other and Oyin

quickly looked away.

“Oh! am so sorry, doctor frank apologized and

stared at her while Oyin shrugged,getting hold

of herself from loosing her temper.she sighed

and waved him away, then began to walk out.

The call was more important to her than any

other thing that she didn’t care to stop and

exchange greetings with the doctor. But

something seem familiar with the face she saw,

she had this feeling it was someone she lost long

ago but she shrugged it off and composed

herself to call Lisa.
