Episode 21

Pedro headed back to the table where Joel occupied with the worried look he wore,the look Joel noticed immediately he took a seat opposite him.
“That didn’t go well,did it?”,Joel started
“It did”,Pedro said but Joel wasn’t satisfied with the answer he got
“Then why are you wearing a disgruntled look?”
“He threatened me. Joel,you are going back to that neighborhood and I want to know everything. Dig deep into his father’s death”
“Pedro,we did all this the first time and we couldn’t find anything about his father’s death”
“Dig deeper. I need answers before this evening. You have to go….”
“Pedro”,Joel interrupted “Listen I know…..”
“Now”,it was Pedro’s firm that interrupted Joel.

When Joel left the bakery,he knew Pedro wasn’t thinking clearly. Pedro threatened people but he hates to be threatened- Joel mused to himself because he found it funny but he didn’t find going to Anthony’s old neighborhood and digging deeper into something he knew wouldn’t get the answers Pedro’s wants,funny.

Fiona Michaels had always loved her family. She always placed her family above everybody, they were her number one priority. She had loved her sisters, she still love them. She had loved her dad and it was true her dad had asked for revenge with his last breathe, Tiara had accepted eagerly and they had forced her to say yes to the revenge. Yes,they had forced her- her father’s pleading eyes had begged her and Tiara’s cold eyes had urged to take part in and now,she regretted it.
She had Joshua and her unborn baby to think about.

Seating in Joshua’s office, who she was sure would have gotten the message she had sent to him few minutes ago.
She had sent him a message that she needed to have a talk with him.
She was going to tell all of Tiara’s crimes to Joshua- Paul’s present condition included, she was leaving nothing out
If Tiara had the courage of bringing Liza into her useless revenge scheme,then she was ready of showing Tiara how far she was willing to protect her kid sister from her evil clutches.
She was going to save Liza. Liza mattered to her,they would be one happy family together. Liza would be a little aunt to her baby- that thought made her smile.

Unknown to Fiona, Liza doesn’t see her as a family anymore but as an enemy.

Joshua barged into his father’s office, now his,looking worried
“Fifi,are you alright? Is something wrong?
Fiona looked at Joshua, they were happy together but by the time they had the talk,he would sure be sad and thought made her contemplating if she should tell him or not.

“We have to talk. You may need to seat down”,Fiona said and waited until he took the seat
She began spilling the beans

Pedro checked the time for the fourth time in five minutes, Joel was yet to come back and his meeting with Anthony would soon kick off.
He checked the time again. He wanted to believe Anthony was bluffing but his guts told him otherwise. No one threatens him,it made him feel insecure. Not that he had many loved ones but if Anthony was to carry out his threat, his bet was Anthony would start from his mother. He shook his head. His mother’s heart couldn’t take a scare from Anthony and all these made him had one question in mind; Was Anthony really the wrong guy to mess with?

He rested his head on the table,as he heard the bell,he jerked up,hoping to see Joel but was disappointed to see Anthony and some other guys accompanying him,which he guessed were Anthony’s guards. As Anthony approached closer to him,he had one thought in mind– He was going into the meeting with Anthony blind, without a weapon against Anthony.
It was when Anthony sat that he realized Anthony intimidated him but he refused to be intimidated
“Let’s sign”,Anthony said
“Is it in the name of Tiara Michaels?”
“Yes”
“You sign. She’ll sign at home”
Silence
“Why did you refuse to take the money?”,Pedro asked
“Five million isn’t up to what I make in a bet”
“Good for you”,Pedro said nonchalantly as he watched Anthony sign his name. He made an attempt to stand up and take the shares document with him but Anthony’s hands on it surprised him and he sat down
“I hear your mother is in the home of elderly and has a bad heart, is that true?”
Pedro stood up abruptly
“If I so much as see a scratch on my momma’s body,thanks to this document,I’ll send your sorry self to jail. I happen to have a few friends there who would love to take good care of you. Match fixing is a serious crime in case you haven’t noticed”,he stopped and looked at Anthony who was short of words
“I’ll take that document now”,he said as he removed Anthony’s hands from the shares document and headed towards the door where he bumped into Joel
“I’m sorry,couldn’t find anything”
“Nothing to worry about. I took care of it”he put his free hand on Joel’s shoulders and walked past him as Joel turned around to look at him.

As Pedro handed to the car,he realized he had gone into the meeting with Anthony with an even stronger weapon just that he was too worried with concern to see it.

“What!?”,Joshua jerked up
“She threatened me”
“How can you not tell me this?”, Joshua queried
“She threatened me”,Fiona repeat
Joshua walked to the window.
“You’re going to make this right”
“How?”
“You’re going to testify against her in court”
“What!?”,it was Fiona’s turn to jerk up
