Episode 26

Tiara stepped into the board room, a minute late as the other members turned to look at her. She looked at the head of the table but the seat vacant, she guessed Robert hasn’t appeared either.

“I have never known you to be an incompetent fool but you’ve shown me first hand that’s exactly what you are!”,Robert yelled at Steve
“But Sir,he said he needed to ask you some questions and suggested he would meet with you”
“You could have persuaded him”
“Sir,Pedro isn’t that kind of guy”
“Shut the hell up!”,he yelled again “I’ll just have to face the new buyer head on”,Robert said as he marched out

Even from a far,he could see the disgruntled look Robert worn on his face. Only his recent look could kill thousands of fishes in the ocean- He mused to himself. Robert was in for a big, big surprise- Pedro thought to himself. He wondered what Robert’s face was going to look like when he found out Tiara was the new owner of the shares- Maybe something more than a disgruntled look?- Pedro could hear himself laughing.

About three minutes later,Steve came out looking like someone who hadn’t slept since the beginning of the world, looking like he had lost his inner peace but what does Pedro know about inner peace- he wondered if he had those.
He came out of his hiding place and walked up to Steve
“I need to see your boss noe”,Pedro said walking ahead of Steve as if he knew where Robert’s office stood
“He has gone to the board meeting”
Pedro stopped “What? why couldn’t he wait?”
“The board meeting was due like seven minutes ago”
“That isn’t an excuse”
“Do you have the name or not?”
“I do”
Steve waited for the name but got silence in return
“Well?”,Steve said
“Does the name Tiara Michaels mean anything to you?”
“I’ve heard the name ‘Michaels’ but no ‘Tiara’”
“Well,she’s the buyer”
“I think we should inform him”
“You do that. I’m outta here”,he said meaning to take his leave
“Wait!”,Steve stopped him “The boss would like to talk with you”
“Okay, I’ll wait”
Steve began sending a text message

He entered the board room,took a good at everybody and caught a somewhat familiar face. It looked like a Michaels,then his cell phone chimed,he knew it was a message and clicked to read the message that was only two words, he read it aloud “Tiara Michaels”

Its a good thing he recognised me- Tiara thought to herself
Robert held a chair so his balance couldn’t fail him. What the hell was she doing in his board room?- Okay, he knows the answer to that question. How come she purchased the shares of Toby?. Where had the money come from?- He was sure the dead d!ckson hadn’t left a dime for his kids.

Tiara watched from where she sat and saw Robert walk unsteadily to his seat at the head of the table- the seat that was already hers.
They sat there for what seemed like an eternity, it was Daisy who broke the silence “Sir…..”,she addressed Robert “We have to start the meeting”
Robert looked at her and all he could see was d!ckson Michaels. Everyone seated around him had the face of d!ckson Michaels.
“We’re waiting for Anthony”,he managed
“He won’t be coming”,Tiara said

That cold voice. He had never liked her from the first time he had seen her. She had the looks of the devil himself. Displayed no emotions. The truth was,he never thought of Tiara as a human- an alien would do.
“Why?”,Robert asked
“He sold his shares to me”
Robert felt his body turned hot. He stood up,ready to dismiss the meeting until Tiara said “I own the largest number of shares and therefore, I invoke Article 17″

She knows about Article 17? No,it can’t be. He must be dreaming,, none of what was happening is real,it must be a dream.
“What do you think you know about Article 17?”
“The owner of the largest number of shares would automatically head the board and can make crucial decisions concerning the affairs of the company”
“And who told you that?”
“That’s not the point”
“What is the point, then?”
“The point is I own 37% of the shares and you own 35% and I think Article 17 should be invoked. I am the new head of the board, Mr. Robert”
“This meeting is over”,Robert said but nobody made a move to stand up
“This meeting isn’t over until I say so. I think you should sit down because there is a crucial decision that needs to be taken”,she made emphasis on crucial. She continued “I ask that you step down from your position in this company based on some accusations”
“Is this about revenge?”
“Revenge? Why would I want revenge?
“Because of your father!”,he yelled without thinking
“Did you do anything to my dad?”
“Don’t make it look like you don’t know what I’m saying!. Your father must have told you something”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Don’t you think it’s wise you step down?”
“Article 15. Do you know what it says?”
No answer
“Article 15 says the other members of the board have the right to vote if a CEO should step down or not”
“The vote should be conducted now,then”
“Article 20 says a vote would be taken after 48hours of notification”.

Tiara could barely contain her anger. Robert said something to her,though the words were inaudible but she read his lips,she missed some of them but picked these “……..you can’t get rid of me easily”
