Episode 28

Soon,Pedro and Tiara talked about the plan to a great length and got into the car with Tiara showing a glint of hope. They were headed home to find a way the plan would work.
Tiara turned to Pedro
“Tell me about your brother”
It was no news that Pedro was shocked
“Brother? Richard?”
“Do you have any other brother?”
“Actually, I do”
“What….”,Tiara sat up “You’re not serious”
Pedro laughed wondering why it shocked Tiara that he had siblings. Of course, he was a normal human being from a normal Nigerian family but he loved the expression he saw on her face. For once,he noticed she had found it difficult to mask her feelings and expression.
The fair skinned man in his mid thirties with brown eyes,black hair, pointed nose,who has the body of athlete- a swimmer to be more precised and an absolute perfect face for an almost perfect gentleman knew he was head over heels in love with the lady sitting close to him.
“You’re staring. And driving. Don’t kill us both”,Tiara said, bringing him back to attention
“Sorry,can’t help myself. You’re saying?”
“You have another brother?”
“Yeah. Kendrick. He’s in Spain”
“Hmm. He schools there?”
“He did,now he works there”
“What does he do?”
“He’s an auditor”
“Hmm. So it’s only the three of you”
“There’s a girl”
“A girl?”
“I have a sister”
“You do?”
“Yeah. Elsa”

She suddenly seemed interested. She wanted to know more about him and that includes his family. She wanted to know more about Pedro
“She stays in Nigeria?”
“Yep but she’s in Liberia now on a mission”
”Mission? What do you mean mission?”
“Forgot to tell you. She’s in the Nigerian Army”
“Wow. That’s so hard to believe. When last have you heard from her?”
“Haven’t heard from her in two years”,Tiara saw his look had somehow change. She noticed he was a little bit sad but she needed to push on
“Why?”
“She went on the mission three years back,we communicated at least once in three months for a year and for the past two years,I haven’t gotten a word from her”
“Sorry”
“Yeah. I still hope though. Her unit or battalion, whatever they call it,ain’t back from Liberia, so there’s still hope”
But one look at Pedro,Tiara knew he had lost all hope.

“Do me a favour,Steve, and get rid of that smug face you’re wearing. Your friend Patrick will……”,Robert said as Steve interrupted “Pedro”
“Exactly what I said…..”
Steve opened his mouth to protest but he shut it because it will all go on a waste. Robert never admit to wrong.
“Did you hear what I said”,Robert asked when he noticed Steve’s mind was on something else
“I said your friend Patrick will take care of that thief of a girl”
“Sir,Pedro might do a lot of things but killing isn’t one of them. Something is wrong”
