Episode 14

“Seriously. The attempt was made countless times” Remigio sad half-jokingly which resulted in his older brother sending him an intimidating glare.

“Can someone start explaining what the hell is going on?” Milo asked in serious voice.

“From you,” here he looked at his brothers with a stern gaze, “I expect the ability to control your emotions. You are to accept information coldly, no matter how surprising it is if you ever want to work for me, understood?” Boys nodded in response.

As brothers were talking between each other I took a moment to look at them. Milo had ash brown, straight hair. They were contrasting with Remi’s dark curls. The skin color of all Vincenti brothers was similar. They were tanned, and their eyes were brown and yet different from each other. The darkest eye color belonged to Rafael, whose brown irises fused with black pupils, then Remi’s irises fell into an amber shade, and Milo’s were like hazelnut.

Remi wore a black leather jacket, a T-shirt of the same color, plain jeans, and heavy black boots. His brother, on the other hand, wore a loose white linen shirt with a few open buttons, a leather bracelet on his left hand just above the watch with a thin strap. His pants were beige and he wore white sneakers. In other words, both brothers looked completely different yet similar, considering that they were the same age they must have been fraternal twins.

“Okay, speaking of our business,” said Milo in a well-balanced voice. “Your wife’s role is crucial to its functioning, why didn’t you say you were going to get married? Why wasn’t Eliana introduced to us?”

“My relationship with Eliana has a short-term it’s mutually beneficial arrangement, a deal. I didn’t introduce her to you before because I first met her two days ago”

“Two days ago” Remi repeated slowly as he was trying to process it all. 1

“But what exactly is it all about? Can you explain what the deal is? ” Milo furrowed his brows in consternation.

“Eliana needs the protection of our family and in return we will receive shares in her family business”

“And what is it enough for you to agree to the wedding? How long will this role-play last?” Asked Remi skeptically.

“6 months”

“We have to deal with the little shit that ran off the room for 6 months?” 24

“Please don’t talk about her like that.” I tried to defend my sister, and he sent me an annoyed glare. 8

“If the vision of spending time with a 16-year-old girl scares you, you are not suitable as a babysitter, let alone working in our company for the second time, I am forced to remind you to control yourself you won’t like what will happen if I will be forced to give you a third reminder” Rafael said, looking at him with a warning in his eyes.

Speaking of control or the lack of it, I was experiencing déjà vu. My sister, was dragged into the living room once again. 10

Casey’s problem was that the bodyguards working for Rafael were, if not tall and big, really muscular.

I understand that their appearance was meant to act as a deterrent, and it would work on me, if I saw this man in a dark alley I would start running. 2

Whatever Casey did, she didn’t have a way out of his embrace, I’m not even sure the man felt that she was struggling. Probably not. On the other hand, he seemed to make sure that she didn’t hurt herself, because despite her attempts to use force, his grip on her wrists didn’t increase.

“Let me go! I said, let go of me! Eliana, tell him to let me go! ” 8

“Can he let her go?” I directed my question to Rafael knowing that he was the decision maker in this house only when he nodded slightly as if on cue, the man released Casey. 4

“Thank you, Marco, you can go back to your station”

“Did you enjoy the walk?” Remigio smirked to provoke her, but Casey only gave him a scornful look. 24

“Can someone explain to me what’s going on?” She asked irritated.

“The conversation has already taken place. You were not present by your own choice, so I assume you don’t need any explanations. “After this sentence, Rafael stood up, signaling that it was time to leave. Remi started laughing at Casey’s shocked expression, and I sighed heavily. It will be a long six months. 16

“Eliana, maybe you can enlighten me, what’s going on?”

“Maybe you would find out something if you answered my calls,” I replied.

“Seriously? So you’re on his side? “My sister asked incredulously. 3

“I’m not on anyone’s side!”

“Eliana” Rafael paused, “you and Casey will be assigned security from Monday. Please don’t leave the house this weekend,” Rafael said in a tone that showed that the conversation was over.

“Security? What is he talking about?” Casey asked.

I was surprised by her. I gave Raphael a questioning look.

“We’ll discuss it later” Of course, after we broke up, Casey hung on my head all the way to my room. The bag with her things that I packed ready to be unpacked in the room next to mine. 2

When Casey went unpacking, she made sure to slam the door hard, thus expressing her anger at me. 29

I hid my face in my hands. What I am doing? Is it a good decision? How am I going to deal with it all? I’m in some strange fucking house with strangers, not to count bodyguards. And that Rafael guy too. I do not know.

This time I couldn’t sleep. When night fell, instead of crying in the bedroom, I decided to go for a walk.

Hi there,

It’s a surprise chapter.

I hope you enjoyed it.
