Getting Temptations

Episode 25

The officer used his hand to wipe off the beads of sweat that had formed on his forehead in just few minutes.

He was sweating profusely not because he was tired but for the fear of not finding him.
“sorry madam. Maybe he’s in the d.p.o’s office.”
the officer said and ran to the d.p.o’s office and Alice followed behind.

The officer courteously knocked on the door while simeon summoned him in.

He rushed in impatiently panting heavily and saluted.

Alice also came in and greeted the d.p.o.

Simeon responded by nodding his head.
“ehen! What happened?”
simeon asked the sergeant standing shivering like he was suffering from cold.
“sir!. I…i….i…..i…. Couldn’t.”
the officer stuttered out of fear.
“c’mon! Talk to me!.”
simeon barked at him while he took a step back in fear.
“i couldn’t find the man i locked yesterday.”
the officer dropped the bombshell.
“whaaaaaaat???”
simeon shouted and b@nged the table hard with his fist, forming to be surprised as though he knew nothing about it.

The officer vibrated like nokia 3310 would do and trembled in fear.

He knew not when he peed in his pant.

Merely looking at simeon’s bloodshot eyes made his feet tremble.

Alice gave a short raunchy mocking laugh.

She laughed at the officer who was yet to be aware of what had happened.

It was until he felt a liquid dripping from his trouser and he shamefully looked down on his trouser.

His trouser was drenched and soaked with urine and was dripping on the floor, he then realized what he did.

Shame overwhelmed him, he wished the ground could open and swallow him and save him from the embarrassments.

What a mess!

Simeon’s face was contorted in disgust at the sight.

He would punish the young officer for an offence which he didn’t commit.

The dice fell on him, and he would bear the consequences.

He must show no atom of pity or remorse for the officer.

It wasn’t his fault afterall, he did the unimaginable to help a friend.

He would have taken it more serious and sedate, had it been he knew nothing about it.
“you must be joking”
simeon finally said.
“ah! sir! Am not sir!”
the officer shamefully replied.
“shut up! And get out of my sight!”
simeon furiously shouted pointing at the door.
“you filthy fool!”
simeon added.

The officer shamefully went out dejectedly.

He already knew what awaited him.
“what do you want madam?”
simeon asked as soon as the officer went out.

Alice looked at him in a way that could only mean disappointment.
“is this how prisoners go missing in your cells?”
Alice asked mockingly.

Simeon was angry at her question, he felt like giving her a hardned slap but held himself back not to act out of rage.
“what do you mean madam?”
simeon asked already pissed.
“what do i mean?”
Alice asked rhetorically and chuckled.

simeon still left his gaze on her with his bloodshot eyes uttering no word.
“i mean, i want to see the missing ben!”

Alice said in a raised tone, while simeon angrily stood up casting her a deadly glare.

He regretted ever helping ben.

He thought it would be easy releasing him.

But the lady here is heaten up issues.

The lady might be a thorn in the flesh for him, if he dosen’t handle the case carefully.

The matter would go viral, If the other officers should got to know about the oblique controversy and the i.g would surely be involved and things would be messy.

He hoped, he made the best decision.
“ben isn’t missing madam”
simeon said after a long pause in a calmer tone.
“if he isn’t missing where is he then?”
Alice further asked.

She knew ben was trying to convince her through his self defence and she wouldn’t fall for it.

Her instincts told her that ben had escaped.

But escaped to where?

How could he even escape through the officers, without them knowing.

That almost seems impossible.

But here he was missing.

Definately, one of the officers aid his escape.

Simeon gave a deep sigh not of relief but for the perpetual interrogation as though she was a detective.
“none of our prisoners could possibly breach our security, be rest assured that he isn’t missing, probably, the officers unknowingly changed his cell room.”
simeon said with a reassuring smile while Alice shrugged.
“ok, i’ll be on my way now”
she said and left.

She drove to ben’s house to re-check and search for him.
Who knows, if he might be lurking around his house and the officers cooking up lies.

She searched thoroughly for him, but her efforts were just futile.

She went back home dejectedly, though she’s not giving up hope on him yet.

She knew the right time to strike would eventually come someday.
