Nancy could be seen lying on the hospital bed and doctor richard stood beside her, his gaze and focus was on the small sized monitor that hung above nancy’s head.

He was punching the keypads of the device sending a command while the device gave different sounds of beep.

He looked over to nancy whose face looked pale and sullen.

He bent down and he detached the ventilator stucked to her nose.

He’d performed the mandated operations which required weaning in the tracheostomy.

He was gratified She survived the numerous operations passed on her but the problem now was ben which refused to show up, he’d promised doctor richard that he would come check up on her the next day but he never did as he promised.

Ben was the sole reason why her face looked pale and sulky, doctor richard ought to use him as a blood donor for her but the reverse was the case.

Doctor richard tried calling him via phone call but he was unreachable.

It had been two months nancy used in the hospital, she ought to use the maximum of five months had it been things went wrong with her.

Doctor richard took off the stethoscope hung around his neck and fixed the ear tubes in his ear.
he then placed the ‘stethos’ chestpiece on her chest scrutinizing her breathing level.

She breaths normal and could now breath without the aid of the ventilator.

He removed the stethoscope and hung it back around his neck.

He took out a file and a pen from the side pocket of his white lab coat and he inscribed somethings into the file.

He opened her eyelids and looked into it, he noted that also in the file and took the file into his pocket after he was done scrutinizing her.

She was on a sedative drug that would facilitate her to sleep for 24hrs undisturbed and everything would be back to normal.

Doctor richard walked out of the room and was off to his office.

He decided and pulled a call across to ben thinking it would go through this time but he was proved wrong as usual.

He heaved a sigh of disappointment and sat down on the chair, he knew he would eventually come someday but he just couldn’t envisage the reason why he never came.

Days flew by and turned into weeks, weeks turned into months but Ben was still indoors in simeon’s house.

He was extremely solicitous and fretful, he was worried stiff as he hadn’t set his eyes on the daylight sun for the past four months, needless to say, seeing nancy.

He had fought with simeon over the issue of staying indoors.

Staying indoors for four months is not palatable to the ears.

He’d to succumb to his plea when he also reasoned it with him but it’s now overused.

He made it up in his mind to go see her.

He’d being obstinate about it but he couldn’t take it anylonger.

He stood up in readiness to go, evading the obstacles which was simeon.
“hey man! Where you going?”
simeon asked as he saw him dressed up and was about leaving.
“i wanna see nancy and you aiint stopping me!”
ben said and left immediately not wanting to hear another word from him.
“but wait!”
simeon was saying but he was gone already.

Something told him in his mind to follow him but he just waved it off.

Afterall it had been four months now and everything is back to normal.

There was no reason depriving him of his freedom.

And besides, he’s a grown up man just like him, so he has every right pertaining to his movements.

He was only helping him not to fall into a trap because he was on the wanted list.

But thats was settled months ago when his collegues couldn’t find him.

Ben took a cab which conveyed him to his house instead of the hospital.

He’d his reasons.

He paid the cab driver as he alighted in front of his house.

He went in, his house now harbours weed on the tiled floor.

His reasons for coming to the house was not far fetched, he wanted to take his lexus jeep and ride it to the hospital on the believe that he would come back with nancy.

He found the door wide open ajar, its seems weird and totally bizarre.

Did he leave his door opened when he left four months ago?

Perhaps, he might have left it open as it was four months ago he stepped into his house.

He was surprised when he saw everything in the sitting room turned upside down.

The settees were scattered, everything was just abnormal.

He went farther in to his room.

He was more surprised at the sight of his room.

The room was out of shape, books and documents were scattered on the floor and made the room to look untidy.
