Final Episode

10 years after…..

…. There were folks in the past who lived decently
and lived a life worth emulating. He was just there,
loved by the world and cherished by all. He was
there for everyone like he was a satellite up there, keeping us on surveillance. How could he be
forgotten as he danced happily in the marketplace
with coins and accolades coming from everywhere.

He was brilliant, a genius and a genius all over
again. If he were to be here today, he would’ve
been a celebrated celebrity. Dreams…. We dream big hoping to see it come true someday but along the
line there’s a twist of fate. What we hope for isn’t
what we see. We get confused like we’re lost in the
desert with help from nowhere. Could it be true that
am heartbroken? Is it true that I popped a wine
today? What for? Is it because am sad or that am happy? Today am fulfilling dreams of a friend that
wasn’t there to see them come true. If he were here
today, he would have done a lot…..

The tears flowing from my eyes were unexpectedly
exceptional. It was my book launch day. The day I
broke my silence to the world about Wally. SLYVA WAS THERE BUT HE LEFT. That was the title of the
book, Wally’s biography. It was in Washington,
USA. in the midst of professors and learned
gentlemen and ladies. I was a lecturer in Havard
university and I was on a book tour. Jegede came
all the way from Australia where he was working and blogging too. He was the first to create the
Wally awareness to the world. Tricia was there, a
successful actress and a fashionist. She was now
based in Paris. Celine was getting herself after years
of mourning Wally and was now a practicing doctor
in Mumbai. Eve was present too, she was extremely rich and was an unknown Scriptwriter. No one
heard from Kosi again since graduation day till
today. Wally’s parents and stepmother were
present too.

…..we have our dreams too… Wally was just one of
us.
