Episode 1

Fiction. Very wide area of writing. If youā€™re conversant with your literature, you know that, just as there are genres of literature, there are also genres of fiction. One in particular which has taken the world by storm is the Fantasy genre. Pure, undiluted fiction at its core.

Many of the best fantasy movie and television series today are based on fantasy novel series, both YA(Young Adult) and non-YA. Series likeLord of The Rings, Legend of The Seeker, Hunger Games, Divergent, Harry Potter, The Maze Runner, The 100,and what is currently arguably the best fantasy series of the twenty-first century,Game of Thrones.

The Game of Thrones Television series, as Iā€™m sure everybody everywhere knows, has eight seasons, and has run from 2011 to 2019. The series is now over, and even though season eight had only six episodes, the sĀ£nsat!onalism, popularity and wait for the series had people gobbling it up.

The Game of Thrones television series runs on HBO, and, though you may not know, is based on a book series called A Song of Ice and Fire, written by George R. R. Martin. The book series is still ongoing, and currently has five books: A Game of Thrones, A March of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows, and A Dance With Dragons.

This little series is known all around the world as being the granddaddy of fantasy novel series based on pure word count. While The Hunger Games and Maze Runner series add up to around four-hundred thousand words each(which is huge, by the way, for series with three to four books), A Song of Ice and Fire measures between one point five and two million words, and the series isnā€™t even over yet.

When I look back down my journey as a writer, I will say the turning point for me was reading the Song of Ice and Fire series, because it took me one step up from writing like the wannabe writer that I am to the grade of professional writers. George R. R. Martinā€” or as I prefer calling him, Pa George ā€”is one of the living legends of modern fiction, right up there with Steven King.

You know what I still find funny? Many people think that they know all about the universe created by Pa George in this series because they have watched GoT. You want me to break it to you? You donā€™t really understand this story until you have read the books, really go behind the minds of the characters and see with them, feel with them, really know the uniqueness of each and every one.

Good thing you have Joseph here, abi? Trust me, whether you have watched or read the series or not, you will really enjoy this Game of Thrones exclusive. Just sit back, relax, and go with the flow.
