LINDA

Ever since funke dropped into this house, Life has been nothing but stress and full of regrets… That b*tch does nothing except to bark out orders as if she was some kind of Queen.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, She’d be disturbing me unnecessarily, bothering me with annoying tasks that even she can do herself… She’d always mess up the house and her stuff and in turn blames me for everything…

Fortunately… She’s the only one that sees my faults… So I had nothing to worry about… Thanks to Cecilia’s intervention, things were less stressful as they were before… But that didn’t stop Funke from being authoritative.

There was this time, when I was mopping the floor of the sitting room, Unfortunately, Funke was sitting on the couch while I was doing that, She was busy staring at me intently, just as soon as I was about to round up my chores, She bought up a ridiculous suggestion about my dressing.

Funke ➡ Linda… Why are you dressed like that?

Linda ➡ Huh? Is something wrong with my dressing?

.

Funke ➡ Of course… You should be wearing those outfits that maids were… If not someone might think you’re part of house.

Linda ➡ But I am a part of this house.

.

Funke ➡ No you’re not… You’re just a hired hand.. Nothing more…

.

Sometimes in life, there’s a point in time that you’ll just have to take a stand and say it’s enough.. I’ve finally gotten a job.. A really nice decent job and I won’t allow some b*tch to ruin it for me.. No way in hell.

Linda ➡ Well, I’m sorry, I can’t wear those drab looking cloth.

Funke ➡ WHAT?

Linda ➡ Yes… Besides.. If there was a problem with my dress, Mrs. Richards would have done something about it.. Since she hasn’t said anything or complained about my dress, I’m afraid I’ll have to maintain my dress code.

Funke ➡ (angry) You b*tch… You’ll do as I say.. You hear me?

Linda ➡ I’m afraid I can’t..Besides I was hired by Mrs. Richards not you.. And I get my salary from her not you.. So that makes me entitled to do whatever she wants.. I serve her and her interests not you.. So if you’ll excuse me.. I need to get back to my mopping.

I walked away leaving her stunned with shocked with my response… Seeing she couldn’t tolerate my bullshit any more, She snapped!

Funke ➡ ASHAWO!!! OLOSHI…. Who do you think you are? Miserable btch, I’ll show you… Its only a matter of time.. You’ve sealed your own doom.. once I officially become Tony’s wife… I’m giving you the first ticket to back to unemployment… Fcking b*tch… I HATE YOU.

Linda ➡ Please calm down.. This is a house of civilized people not barbarians… Your shouts may attract unwanted attention!

My last comment seemed to have made her lose her control… She shouted and charged towards me with hate and rage but Little did she realize that the floor I had just mopped was still slippery and she was wearing a rubber slipper, immediately she set her foot on the slippery surface, she fell.

*WHAM!!!!

I honestly wanted to laugh but this only was good enough for her,…. Luckily for her, she fell on her ass, but I could tell it didn’t tingle. In that moment, Tony appeared and asked what was going on.. Funke ranted and insulted me, threatening to get even when the time was right.. She left us both going upstairs to Tony’s bedroom.

Tony who was surprised by all this asked what happened, but all I could tell him was, Funke had lost her shit.. After that, I walked on him as well, and went back to my chores.

And speaking of Tony… Things haven’t been quite straight between us.. Ever since he pulled that fiasco in his bedroom, I ignored and hated the guy… I couldn’t believe he had forced me like that,… To be honest, it felt good but what he did was wrong.. It reminded me of the time, when my wicked uncle tried to force himself on me.. It was because of that, Andy lost control of his body and led to his paralysis.

As the days passed, I developed a cold attitude towards Tony, Sometimes I would not greet him or look his way and he would not say anything about it… How could he? He had no right to demand respect from me after what he just did… And besides if I reported this to the police that would be justifiable.

Tony seemed to have noticed my hostility, and kept a distance away from me to avoid any drama. This went on for days until one afternoon I was in my room on my bed taking a nap.. then all of sudden, There was a knock on the door. I got up and went and opened the door, and to my surprise, There was Tony standing.

We stared at each other for a while, before he asked if he could come in. I moved aside and opened the door for him, and he walked in briskly.

I closed the door and stood staring at him, giving him the usual cold treatment.

Tony ➡ Uhm.. How are you, Linda?

.

Linda ➡??????

.

Tony ➡ Okay.. Here I bought these for you.. Chocolate bars ? from the finest stores in Europe.

..

Linda ➡ ???????

Tony ➡ Uhm… Look about what happened last time.. It was.. I mean.. God..

.

Tony scratched his head walking slowly left and right, thinking of what to say.. Finally, He took a deep breath and sat on my bed.

.

Tony ➡ Look Linda… I’m sorry for what I did.. It was stupid and dumb.. I know you’re angry and you have every right to be.. I shouldn’t have let my emotions get the best of me.. But I couldn’t help it but that’s no excuse.. Linda to be honest, I’ve been thinking about what I did and I’ve come to one conclusion.. I’m crazy about you.. Ever since I saw you on the streets before you started working here.. I mean this from the bottle of my heart.. Every time I look at you, I just go nuts.. I’ve tried resisting you but it’s impossible to do so.. During my engagement party, when you treated my wounds I just couldn’t resist any more.. Then again I’m sorry if I caused you any discomfort in any way.. I know you hate me for doing that to you, but just know I never meant to make you feel threatened or scared in any way..

Once again, I’m sorry and I promise not to do that ever again.. By the way, you look nice.

Tony stood up and went out of the room. I couldn’t believe he complimented my looks.. I was still angry at him but some part of me was willing to forgive him.

I didn’t want to believe what he said but he sounded so sincere, and he came in person to apologize and he even bought me a gift.

It takes a real man to apologize for what he’s done but I wasn’t going to accept his apology until I’ve consulted Regina.

Later that weekend, when I was at her house, I told her everything that happened between me and Tony and her answer was obvious.

Regina ➡ Well, you should forgive him.. Its even romantic to see he bought you a gift.. Most naija men would just leave you to rot.

Linda ➡ Are you sure? What if he’s doing this just to lure me to his bed again.

.

Regina ➡ Linda better drop this your mother Mary attitude… Tell me didn’t you enjoy his touch and lips on your body?

Linda ➡ Don’t be..

Regina ➡ Answer me!

Linda ➡ Well.. I kind of.. Enjoyed it.. a little.

.

Regina ➡ (laughs) Enjoyment is enjoyment.. At least he didn’t f–k you.. If you ask, I’d say you allowed him to do as he wanted.

Linda ➡ What?

Regina ➡ Yes… If you really wanted him to stop, you could have shouted for help, but you didn’t.. He kissed you and yet you did nothing, he fondled your t–s and yet you did nothing and in the end, you were moaning.. My dear, you want this guy as much as he wants you.

Linda ➡ Stop saying nonsense.

Regina ➡ I’m not saying nonsense… Besides the guy said he’s crazy about you.. If he really doesn’t care about you.. He wouldn’t have tolerated your bullshit after all he’s your boss, he could have raped you and enjoyed your body and tossed you out like trash.. Even if you report him to the authorities.. He has money and you don’t.. Nothing will be done.. Except in heaven.. Look Linda.. Stop denying this guy.. He really cares about you.. Just give him a chance.. If he could put up with your bullshit, I’d say this is the guy for you.. Think about it.. Many ladies are out there waiting for a chance like yours and you’re messing with it.

Linda ➡ But he’s engaged to Funke.

Regina ➡ Oh please.. It’s an engagement o.. Its like waiting for an admission into university and she hasn’t gotten that admission yet.. All you have to do is bypass her and gain direct entry in her stead.

Linda ➡ (laughs) Regina.. You’re a nut… But I’ll think about what you said..

Regina ➡ You’d better.. Time waits for no one..
