Dave POV

I looked at Debbie who was sleeping peacefully next to me.

She was sleeping like a baby, I smiled at her when she turned to the other side.

Even if this is not love, I want to continue to be with her.

I heard some voices from downstairs, I put on my pajamas and went outside.

I saw Marcus struggling with my gateman.

“Let him in” I said and he allowed him in.

He rushed at me and punched me hard, well that was expected.

“Is that enough?” I asked while he looked at me disgusted.

“How could you? I thought we were friends” He said hurt.

“Am really sorry but she was never yours” I said.

“What? You are such a jerk” he said irritated.

“Am going to make you all pay, including her” he said pointing at Debbie who was awake crying.

She’s probably guilty.

“We shall see to that” I said.

“Yes, we shall” he said and left.

I went to Debbie who collapsed on the floor.

“Are you alright?” I asked.

“He hates us” she said.

“Hey, it doesn’t matter. We will overcome it” I said and hugged her.

“Am here for you” I said hugging her tight.

“Same here” she said and hugged me more tighter.

The next morning

Debbie POV

Today has really been a bad day for me, I stood in front of my dad who was looking at me angry and upset.

“Is it true, you are having an affair with your fiance’s friend?” He asked angry.

“Dad, it is not what you think” I said trying to explain myself.

“Not what I think? it is all over the news. Debbie oteola a gold digger” he said disappointed.

“But dad” I said.

“I can’t believe I gave birth to a slut” my dad said.

“That is too much” my mom said and came out.

“Shut up” he said to my mom.

I can’t believe my own father called me a slut.

“I want you out of my house now” he said.

“Debbie’s father” my mom called.

“Don’t call me that, I didn’t give birth to a slut” he said and went to his room while my mom followed him in.

He disowned me, he made it clear, he doesn’t me as his daughter.

I left the house with a weary heart, I got to Dave’s place and I could hear some voices coming from inside.

“I don’t want to see you with that bitch, how could you betray your own friend because of a slut” his mom said.

“Mom, I know what I want and she is the one I want” He said.

“Chose between that slut and your mom” she said and stood up.

She saw me and hissed pushing me aside.

“Dave!” I called crying.

“Hey, it is OK. Don’t let their words sway you, it is ok” he said.

“It is ok” he said.

Weeks later:

These few weeks has been hell for me, both families were against us but not only our families but the whole city.

My name was also mentioned on several television and radio stations, as a gold digger who destroyed two friends.

She is only after the money, they say, but they won’t understand. It isn’t because of money, wealth or lust, it is because of love.

But that is not the only reason these few days have been hell for me, these days I hardly eat, whenever I eat I feel like vomiting.

I just feel dizzy for no reason.

I had a hunch of what’s wrong with me

So I bought a dipstick used for pregnancies test. I used it and it tested positive.

Am pregnant.
