Final Chapter

Debbie POV

“Alex, can mommy and mister wants to talk to you” I said as both me and Dave sat on the bed as I wake Alex from his sleep

We have decided to tell him about Dave, I don’t know what his reaction will be. He will probably hate me right?

He sat on the bed and rest his head on Dave’s shoulder while I smiled.

“Alex, what am about to say, I should have told you since you asked about your Dad but instead I lied to you” I said and I bit on my lower lips, nervous.

“What is it?” He asked as he rubbed his eyes.

“Promise you won’t be angry at mom for lying?” I asked.

“I promise” he said.

“Well, your dad is not dead. The mister with you here is your father” I said nervously waiting for my son’s reaction.

He looked at me then at Dave.

“Can I go to sleep now?” He asked while both me and Dave looked at each other surprised.

“Aren’t you angry?” I asked.

“I found out a while ago, I heard you and the grandma the other day and am actually happy. That I finally have a dad” he said and hugged Dave.

“But mom, am angry at you, you lied. But I can understand, but this will be the last time” he said while both me and Dave laughed.

“Ok” I said.

“I want to sleep” he said cutely as he pulled away from Dave and laid on the bed.

“Good night” Dave said and kissed him on his forehead while he cooed.

“Night” Alex said and we exited his room.

“Am extremely happy” I said.

“Same here, you raised him well” Dave said and back hugged me.

“Yea, it take a lot to raise a kid you know especially a male” I said proudly.

“I know” he said and kissed my neck.

“Am grateful for that” he said.

“Better” I said and we both laughed.

“My mom called me today, she talked about my family meeting yours” he said and my smile dropped.

“Dave, you know I can’t” I said and faced him.

“Debbie, you have to meet them. It is now or never, it’s been five years” he said.

“I know, it is not like it is my fault my dad doesn’t want to see me” I said.

“Babe, he probably said that because he was angry.”

“Am sure he misses you” He said.

“You think so?” I asked.

“I know, let’s go see them tomorrow” he said.

“I don’t know” I said.

“Hey,” he said and hold my hand.

“Trust me” he said.

“Ok” I sighed and he hugged me.

The Next Day

We got to my parent house, knocked on their door repeatedly. It was clearly shown I was nervous, Dave held my hand, with Alex beside him.

The door opened revealing my little sister.

“Sister Debbie” she said and jumped on me.

“I have missed you” she said crying.

“Same here” I said and hugged her back.

“Why did you do that, why did leave us” she asked sobbing.

“Am sorry” I said.

“Come in” she said and both Dave, Alex, and I entered.

“Sit here” she said and we sat.

She went in to call my parent, I exhaled deeply.

My mom and dad came out.

“Debbie!” my mom said and hugged me.

“Mom” I said crying.

“How could you leave like that? I thought I will never see you again” she said and sniffed, holding back a sob.

”Am sorry” I said as she pulled away.

“Dad” I called expecting him to ask me what am doing in his house.

“I know I can be harsh sometimes but that day I never meant anything I said” he said.

“How could you leave with caring” he said and I got emotional crying more.

“Am sorry” I said crying heavily.

“Mom, why are you crying?” Alex said which made everyone’s attention shift to him.

“Who are they?” My mom asked referring to Dave and Alex.

“This is Dave, my fiance and this is Alex our son” I said and bite my lips.

“The same Dave, Marcus friend?” My dad asked.

“Hmm, yes” I said.

“Good afternoon” Dave said and prostrated.

My dad frowned but later settled into a smile.

“You are welcome” he said.

My mom went to Alex and carried him.

“So I have a grandchild” she said while Alex laughed at her words.

“So cute” Simi cooed touching Alex cheeks.

After few minutes of conversations about our wedding, my dad finally gave us his approval.

“Thank you so much” I said to my dad while Alex sat on his laps.

He seems so attracted to Alex, my mom couldn’t even carry him back after giving him to my dad.

“It is okay, am the one that should be thanking you because i never thought you will come back which broke my heart” he said.

“And you also came back with a gift” My dad said referring to Alex while we all smiled.

“Grandpa, I want to see your room” Alex said.

“Of course,”dad said, carried him and took him inside.

“So how is everything” I said to Simi.

“Fine, I have a lot to gists sis” she said and sat next to me.

“First, you won’t believe that as soon as you left uncle Marcus got married three months later” she said.

“What?” I asked and looked at Dave.

“I didn’t want to tell you about it, because it was not necessary” Dave said.

“You are right, I hope he has a happy marriage” I said.

“So brother Dave, I have been willing to ask, you were probably seduced by my sister abi?” she said while Dave and I burst into laughter.

“I don’t think so” Dave said.

“He is right, I was the one who got seduced” I said and looked at him.

“I was the one lost in his seduction, in his lust but was later lost in his love.”

“So Brother Dave seduced you?” Simi asked confused.

“Yea, you could say that” I said while Dave held my hand.

Few months later

The wedding day

Dave POV

I never thought this day would happen, I will stand on an alter with Debbie in her white dress.

Taking our vow

“Do you Dave Olamide take Debbie oteola as your lawfully wedded wife?”

“Yes I do”

“Do you Debbie oteola take Dave Olamide as your lawfully wedded husband?”

“Yes, I do” she smiled.

“You have been joined together in a holy matrimony, I now pronounce you as husband and wife”

“You may kiss the bride.”

“The moment I have been waiting for” I said as I pulled Debbie closer and crushed my lips on hers.

Tonight is going to be a long night, thankfully Alex is not going to be with us for two months.

“God, there is a child here” Alex said while the whole crowd laughed including Debbie and I.

“I love you Debbie” I said.

“I love you too” she said and kissed me again.

“Jeez” Alex said.

Right now, right this moment am happy.

What more could I wish? A beautiful wife and a smart kid.

At first it was all lust, but I learn sometimes lust can turn to love.

All i thought I had for her was lust, but thankfully It turned out to be love.

I love her and I know she feels the same.

I finally got the girl.
