“For now, my parents don’t know am around, and because of that I don’t go home or to the company, so all you have to do is stay here with me all day and I’ll pay you, five million naira a month” I said smiling.

“Do you think this is a joke?” She asked as she scoffed.

“You will just give me five million naira for doing nothing, I see you still joke with things, just like three years ago.”

“Am going” she said and turned to leave.

I know how soft hearted Debbie is, that is her weakness and am going to make use of that.

We both went to my room.

“What is it?” I asked.

“I don’t know what you’re planning to do, but it is wrong, she is getting married to your friend soon, it is like you are cheating on your friend.”

“Having that thought is called betrayal” he said.

“But she was mine first, am just taking back. Am taking back what is mine” I said as I unbuttoned my shirt, I reek of alcohol.

“You guys broke up, you don’t deserve this girl and if your plan works, which I pray it doesn’t, that lady will be doomed” he said.

“First, my plan will work, and also she won’t be doomed because I will protect her” I said.

“This is totally wrong, you could try it in America, but here it is not accepted” he said.

“And am sure that girl won’t accept you” he said with confidence.

“Let’s wait and see, Debbie will be mine for sure” I said and took off my shirt.

“How?” he asked as I took off my trouser.

Debbie pov

I looked around his living room, everything here looks expensive.

His PA came out of his room and angrily left the house.

Did they had an argument?

“Be careful on your way” Dave said and came out in a towel, I closed my eye when I saw him.

“Why are you closing your eyes? It is not like you have never seen me like this before” he said.

I heard his footsteps, he is coming closer to me.

“Don’t come” I said.

“Ok, I will” I said and opened my eyes but it was too late, he was already so close to me.

“Am not” I said and swallowed my saliva. “I will make you breakfast” I said and went to his kitchen.

‘That was close’ I thought.

I prepared some toast bread and some tea for him, I smiled while preparing the meal remembering all his promise before he did his worst, and how I stupidly fell for it all.

I don’t know what he is planning, but I won’t let my guard down like three years ago.

“Food is ready” I said after serving his food.

My phone rings and I picked it.

“What do you want?” I asked Marcus.

“Please I need to see you, am sorry about what I did, if you want the job back ill give it to you, so please let me see you. I miss you” he said.

“Am busy” I said still angry.

“Babe, I need you, if you don’t come you might find me dead” he said.

“Don’t do anything stupid, am on my way” I said and hung up.

I turned back and saw Dave, “I have to leave” I said.

“Why? I also need you” He said.

“But he said he’ll kill himself” I protest.

“I know Marcus, he never jokes with his life” Dave said.

“But I have to” I said and walked past him, but he pulled me back.

“I can’t let you go” He said.

“Dave pls stop all this, am your friend’s fiancée” I said.

Dave POV

My phone rings and I picked it.

“Hello, who is this?” I asked.
