Episode 21

Flash back

It was my second semester in the University. I was determined to graduate with good grades, so I always attended classes and was diligent with my studies. I didnā€™t have time for girls.

I was also kinda anonymous. It was 100L so all students of the Faculty of Science usually had their lectures together ā€˜cos we all offered same courses.

We were also many. That made some annoying students that stayed in the school hostel come to class as early as 5am to ā€˜bookā€™ the front seats of the hall, especially when we had a class by 8am or 9am.

It was the beginning of second semester, so while I still remained anonymous, some other guys and ladies had already defined their identities in their respective departments and the faculty as a whole.

We already knew the handsome guys, the pretty chicks, the brains, the brawns, the jerks, the jocks, the ā€˜cashyā€™, the cashless, the cultists, the skinny, the chubby, the macho e.t.c

Virtually everyone had an identity, except of course, myself and few others like me. I was an unknown, anonymous, a ā€˜jewā€™.

There was a particular course, MTH 112, which had to do with Differentiation and Integration (Further Mathematics) which I didnā€™t understand previously ā€˜cos I had always detested mathematics. But I realized that the lecturer taking the course took it in such a way that everyone could easily understand it. He usually said he doesnā€™t lecture, but he teaches. I usually made it a duty to always be at the front seat when he taught so as to grasp every word coming from his mouth.

That morning, we had the class by 8am so I asked a friend who stayed in the school hostel to ā€˜bookā€™ a ā€˜front pageā€™ seat for me. Unknown to me, the seat was already booked by a ā€˜modā€™ in one of the departments in the faculty.

It was 7:30am. I had already sat in the previously booked space trying to glance through my notes. A lady was sitting beside me on my left. We previously had an argument on who booked the seat first. My friend said he did first and she said her friend did first. Since it was my friend and I against her, the odds were in our favor and so I sat.

It was some minutes to 8am. The lecturer had still not arrived. I was still glancing through my notes when I realized someone was standing before me. She was asking her friend, ā€˜Who is this imp seating on my seat?ā€™, eyeing me from head to toe.

I looked up and saw who it was. It was Esse. Among all the ladies in the faculty, Esse was popular and was at least among the first five when it came to beauty. She was about 5.8ā€ tall and with what I call onshore and offshore dichotomy. Where onshore refers to the ā€˜frontsideā€™ and offshore refers to the backside. This babe was just too complete. All guys were drooling over her. Everyone (excluding me of course) including some lecturers wanted to go out with Esse. I didnā€™t know if she was dating anyone. Here she was calling me an impā€¦.

I looked up at her for seconds and concentrated back on my book. Since she noticed I didnā€™t make any statement, she began banging the desk, requesting that I get up from her seat.

šŸ˜® You bring chair come from your papa house???

I still didnā€™t make any statement. She was making so much noise that it drew the attention of other students.

šŸ˜® See season film

There is this intermolecular force that attracts students to these kind of scenes. Before I knew what was happening, students were milling around trying to get a glimpse of what was going on.
Some girls thrive on such attention. She saw I was still calm. I guess that was not the reaction she wanted from me, so she grabbed my shirt.
