”U are right my husband! my daughter! forget about that crippled man and accept chief proposal when he comes tomorrow”,Mrs patient chipped in ”what?? papa! mama! did all this just come out of ur mouth? u are now calling Charles names simply because he is now crippled and does not shower u people with good things anymore! I can’t believe u guys! Charles a nice guy that brought us out from poverty! hmmm!! mama even u? have u forgotten so soon? papa u too! upon everything Charles did for u guys, now u are condemning him simply because he is crippled and no longer has enough money to shower u guys! u guys are ungreatful! but one thing I will let u guys know is that I will never leave Charles for anything, so stop wasting ur time”, nana said, stood up to go when her father dragged her back

”now listen to me little girl! I am ur father and I decide who to marry u and who not to marry u! I don’t want to ever see u with that stupid crippled man again, chief UGA is who I want for u! the day I will ever see u and Charles again, u will have me to content with, chief is who I want for u and that is final”, Mr Pete yelled

”where was chief UGA when u were still in jail? no answer me! he was nowhere to be found! papa read my lips, I will never marry any other man aside from Charles! and u know why? because Charles is my life, my world! my Eternity! I can’t even live without him, so go and tell that old man that u call friend to stop wasting his time and focus on his wife and children! Charles or no other person”, nana insist and made to turn but her father dragged her back again and gave her a hot slap,making the nylon on her hand to fall down

”dont u dare talk back at me u little thing, I am ur father, u got to give me that respect! the day I see u with Charles again, I will get the bastard arrested, mark my words, chief UGA will be coming tomorrow to propose to u, so just get urself prepared! and don’t u ever tell him no because if u do, I will disown u and send u away from this house”, Mr Pete said and angrily walked away leaving nana in tears

”my daughter! I don’t want u to feel that we have suddenly hates u, no! we are doing all this for ur benefit! why can’t u sit down and asked urself questions! wat life can a crippled man give to u? do u want to stay young and start suffering? my daughter! marrying chief is a great opportunity for u o! I know Charles tried on his own time but we are talking of now and not before, as a young girl u needs a rich guy who can take good care of u and ur family! pls Incase chief comes tomorrow to propose, don’t hesitate! my daughter pls don’t bring shame to us”, Mrs patient said

”aaaaah mama even u! u are the least person I ever expected will say something like this! mama u remembered when we were suffering? when we were still staying in an uncompleted building? but this same guy u people are criticising is the same person that brought us out from suffering! aaah mama u and papa are ungreatful o! but one thing I want to let u people know is that, I will never accept chief! Charles or no one else”, nana cried ”will u shut up ur mouth u this stupid girl! don’t even dare ur father in this house! u know wat he is capable of doing! don’t even try it! mtwcheeeew”, Mrs patient shouted, hissed and walked away, as nana fell on the ground crying her eyes out.

The following day evening, chief UGA came as promised, Mr Pete and Mrs patient entertained him, ”my chief my chief, the money making machine”, Mr Pete praised ”u can say that again”, chief UGA said, opened his briefcase and brought out alots of cash and a cheque

”my good friend! this is three hundred thousand naira and a cheque of one million! I want u to take it and open any business of ur chioce! I will do more than this if only ur daughter accept my proposal”, chief said and opened his briefcase again, brought out another cash ”my mother inlaw! this is for u! it two hundred thousand naira! but don’t worry! when I come next time, I will also open any business of ur choice for u”, chief said and handed the money to Mrs patient who happily collected it, stood up and started dancing

”aaaah chief chief! u have really done well, me and my wife appreciate! thank u very much, don’t worry my daughter is all URS! she is ur wife no doubt about that! thank u once again”, Mr Pete thanked smiling ”my son in-law! thank u very much! u have really done well”, Mrs patient thanked and sat down looking at the money on her hand smiling ”so where is ur daughter my wife to be? chief asked ”i sent her to get something for me at the market, she will be home soon! chief just have patient u will see her”, Mrs patient said excitedly

”ok! extend my greetings to her! I supposed to propose to her today but let me leave it in one weeks time and I will come and do the right thing! I still want to give her some little time”, chief said and stood up ready to go ”u don’t have a problem my chief! she is all URS”, Mr Pete said ”ok then! see u guys in one weeks time”, chief UGA said ”ok chief”, Mrs patient replied smiling as they saw chief off.

”papa wat u guys are doing is not fair o! after all uncle Charles has done for us, u guys still want to give nana out to another person, it not good o! remember tomorrow is pregnant”, Sandra said to Mr Pete who was dressed ready to go out ”is that why u stopped me from going to my shop? my friend will u go inside and read ur books and stop pucking ur nose in wat does not concerned u! busy body”, Mr Pete shouted as Sandra ran off.

Reminder:Mr Pete has used the money chief gave him to open a very big beer palour, he and his wife Mrs patient were managing.

One weeks later, ”my husband! am very happy that chief will be coming today to propose to our daughter! am really happy for our daughter! I can’t wait to become an inlaw to a chief”, Mrs patient happily said, fanning herself with her hand ”today is a very great day! am so happy too”, Mr Pete said smiling ”go to the room and tell nana to start dressing up that chief will soon come any moment from now”, Mr Pete said while Mrs patient nodded and walked away then came out with a worried face ”my husband! nana is not in the room o! wait let me check outside”, Mrs patient said went out and came back

”she is nowhere to be found o”, Mrs patient panicked ”wat?? today that is supposed to be her day, she is missing? wait let me call her number”, Mr Pete said brought out his phone and dialled Nana’s number (The Number U Dialled Is Switched Off) was the reply he got.
