Episode 7

Later that night,as they were sleeping, someone entered the uncompleted building and tap nana lightly on the shoulder,nana slowly opened her eyes and saw the figure standing right in front of her,she screamed and stood up immediately, her screamed made her mother and sister to wake up too, Mrs patient on seeing the man standing before them started praying silently on her mind, fear gripped over them that instant, until the man spoke ”who are u people and wat are u doing here? the man asked ”pls I beg u don’t hurt us, we don’t have anywhere to go so we decided to spend the night here”, nana panicked

”pls sir don’t hurt us, we are homeless so we just decided to spend the night here, pls don’t hurt us, we will leave at soon as possible”, Mrs patient said,bent down and packed the wrapper they used in sleeping ”hmmmm!! I see! anyway am not a bad person, let me introduce myself to u people, but though I still don’t trust u people, my name is bolaji but my friends call me bj, I am the contractor in charge of this building, the owner of this building travelled to Japan, we were still working on this building when the owner asked us to stop that he will be coming back to Nigeria in one months time and that he wants to witness how the building of the house will be going that was why he asked us to stop until he returns, but though he told me to be coming everyday to be checking on the building, that was why am here! so who are u people? bj asked, as Mrs patient started narrating everything to him, after narrating, bj shakes his head out of pity ”that ur brother’s wife is such a wicked woman! she is doing that forgetting that tomorrow is pregnant! hmmm!! I would have taking u people to my house but the problem now is that am living in a one room self contain with my pregnant wife, and the house is not that big and can’t contain us! the help I can render to u people is, since the owner of the building will be coming back in one months time, u guys will be staying here till then, before then I will see wat I can do”, bj said

”aaaaah thank u very much sir! u are such a kind hearted person, God bless u”, Mrs patient thanked and start spreading the wrappers back ”thank u sir! God bless u”, nana also thanked him, same with Sandra ”it not a problem! let me be going now, I will come tomorrow morning to check on u guys, it late already”, bj said, dipped his hand on his pocket and brought out one thousand naira note, and gave it to Mrs patient to use it tomorrow morning for breakfast, at first Mrs patient rejected it but after much persuasion she collected it and thanked bj very well, before bj left.

The following day morning, bj came to pay them visit as he promised, but later left, but before he left, he gave them two thousand naira to use for lunch and dinner, ”mama that uncle bj is such a kind hearted man! see how he is giving us money for food despite the fact that he don’t know us”, nana said ”he is a good man”, Sandra chipped in ”God will bless him for us! he is such a nice man”, Mrs patient said smiling, looking at the money on her hand

”am really worried about my brother! have been trying his number since but it not connecting, I just hope and wish he is fine wherever he is”, Mrs patient sadly ”mama stop worrying urself, uncle Emmy is fine, maybe it network”, nana consoled ”i just hope so!! errrm that reminds me! am suggesting we used one thousand naira out of this 2k to start pure water business! we cannot folds our hand and keep depending on sir bj! u know he too has a pregnant wife to take care of, we shouldn’t use our own problem to disturb him”, Mrs patient suggest ”great ideal mama I support u”, nana said smiling ”i like the ideal too”, Sandra chipped in ”then let’s start tomorrow, we will be hawking the pure water, with that we will make a good sale”, Mrs patient said ”ok mama”, nana replied

The following day afternoon, nana and Sandra was seen hawking pure water, when a Lexus car stopped right in front of them, the young guy driving the car wined the glass of his car down ”oga u want buy pure water? nana asked but got no response from him, rather the guy was lost looking at Nana’s face ”i wan buy pure water o”, a guy shouted from afar ”sandra go and answer that guy”, nana said to Sandra who nodded and left ”oga why u dey look me like that? I say whether u want buy water? nana asked again bringing him back to life

”errrrm ye.. yes I want to buy pure water”, the guy replied smiling and looking at nana ”how many water u wan buy? nana asked ”errrrm! I want to buy everything! how much is it? the guy asked ”hmmm!! u fit finish everything? oga u funny o”, nana said smiling ”am serious, I want to buy everything, how much is it? the guy asked again ”hmmmm!! anyway everything na four hundred naira”, nana replied looking at the guy ”just that? the guy said and brought out some money from his car ”take!! this is 20k! am buying both the water and the bowl”, the guy said handling nana the money but nana just stands still without saying anything nor collecting the money.
