Katelyn’s POV:

He came in when I was about closing my eyes.

Stepdad! I jolted with shock.

He shut the door with the back of his legs and walked towards where I was lying.

” Hey, baby. How are you feeling?”

I glared at him, my eyes burning with hate. ” What the hell are you doing here?”

He sat beside me. ” Now, that isn’t how to greet your dad. Tell me you didn’t miss me.”

” You are not my dad,” I barked at him. ” And I never missed you, you old pig.”

He slapped me Soo hard it echoed down the hallway.

” What did you tell Mr Adam?”

I turned to him, my palms holding my cheek where he slapped me. ” I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

” Don’t play dump with me,” he bawled. ” Mr Adam knew something was going on between us that’s why he snubbed me minutes ago. What is it you told him?”

” I told him your bullsh*t” I yelled at him. ” He already knows about you, about us. He’s coming after you and when he does, he’ll skin you alive.”

He slapped me again.

Smack!!!

” Foolish girl,” he growled at me. ” Such a lousy idiot you are. What makes you think Mr Adam could handle me? He’s a small boy compared to me. I’ve got connections and cash. He can’t touch me, if he does, I’ll lock him up in jail.”

” You can’t do him anything.”

” Says who?” He then chuckled evily. ” By the way, I’ve packed your mother’s luggages as well as yours outside my gates. By the time your mother returns back from her trip I don’t want to see anyone of you in my house.”

” To hell with you and your house! We don’t need it. I’d rather returned to the live in the village than stay in that godforsaken house of yours.”

Stepdad laughed. ” With pleasure my love. In the meantime, why don’t we share a blissful moment together. Even if it’s for the last time,” he placed his hands on my breast and squeezed it. ” For memories sake.”

I strained to move my hands but he held my other hand and leaned down to kiss me. I tried to scream but he covered my mouth with his other hand.

” Shh,” he said. ” I would be gentle. It won’t be like last time.”

I whimpered. ” Adam, pleasee help.”

Suddenly, the door broke opened and armed police men barged into the room. Stepdad jolted away from me, his eyes growing wide with fright.

” Freeze,” one of the police men shouted at him. ” You are under arrest for child molest….”

Before he could complete the next words, Mr Adam rushed out from nowhere and threw stepdad a devastating punch that threw stepdad high up in the air, landing to the ground.

I turned sharply to him. ” Adam?”

He was breathing heavily with rage. His eyes drawn in a frown at the fat man Lying on the ground. ” That’s for Katelyn.”

From the behind the curtains, a girl moved out, holding a video camera. I recognized her as my senior from school, Violet.

” I got everything on tape,” she moved to the officer, handling him the video camera. ” Just as you instructed me to.”

” Thank you young lady for doing your part,” the officer said. ” Now we got enough evidence, we can take care of this dog.”

Mr Adam turned to me. We stared at each other and he smiled. ” Don’t worry, Kate. I’m sure all your troubles are over from now henceforth.”

I stared at him then at stepdad as he was being put in handcuffs and was led outside my ward.

Violet and Adam walked up to me. My head was spinning fast and unsteadyily that I fell back on my bed and covered my face. When I opened them, I was smiling with streams of tears flowing down my eyes.

I was saved. I can’t believe it.

Smack!!!

Everyone turned to the direction of the sound. A woman was shouting at the top of her voice. ” You dog! You animal! Raping my daughter, what sort of man are you?”.

” Madam,” an officer spoke. ” Take it easy. You are hurting him.”

” Let me hurt him,” she yelled. ” I’ll kill this shameless man. Officer let me go, officer. Allow me to kill this mother f*cker!”

I heard stepdad cried in pains. ” Oww, my eyes. Officer, take that woman away from me. She will kill me!”

There were struggles and shuffling of feet. Then mom ran into the ward.

Seeing me on the bed, her eyes welled up with tears.

” Mom?” I called.

” Katelyn,” she cried and ran to me. Before I knew it, she hugged me soo tight I thought I was going to be crushed. ” I’m sorry. I am soo sorry for everything. Please forgive me.”

Mr Adam and Violet walked out of the ward. I watched them leave and I closed my eyes and whispered. ” Thank you. Thanks for saving me.”
