My Midnight Adventures

Episode 9

My parents came the following week,

I dressed responsibly and tied my hair,

I already had my nails and eyelashes

removed the previous day. Everything

went as planned,they went as far as bringing

some things for him and even praying

for him. How I wish they knew the kind of

job I really do . They spent the night at my

place before going back the next day,I

told them the company gave me the house

and a car. They were really happy for me

and offered thanks to God for giving me

a good paying job before graduation.

Deep

down I wasn’t happy with my lifestyle

but I had no choice,I had to do it. My body

was not at rest as I haven’t taken in any

cucumber that day,I rang up Mike my driver

I went over to his room after my parents

went to bed and I was careful to let them

sleep before going to meet him,I entered

Maami: My daughter, something has been on my mind for a long time now and it’s bothering me.

I was beginning to get scared and apprehensive.

I was wondering if my mum already knew

that something is not right. I was lost in

thought as to how am going to explain

to her if that’s what she really wants to say

that I didn’t hear her calling me

Maami: Jessica! Jessica! Jessica am talking to you.

Jessica: Hmm sorry mummy,I was thinking about something,what were you saying? She looked at me and asked if I was okay and I nodded yes.

Maami: Have been wanting to ask if you still don’t have a guy who is going to marry you, I have never heard you talk about any guy before or you want to remain single?

I shook my head and told her I haven’t

seen the right man for me yet and if I do

I will surely tell her about it.

She

said okay and rose up,I bid her good night

as I went to my room also. Morning came

and I told Mike to drop them at the park

while I go to school for my final year examination.

I didn’t really read for the exam but was pretty sure I would pass it and graduate.

After the examination, I went over to Alhaji’s

place and we went over to his place where

he picked somethings before going over to his beach.
