Four_days_later

Rose’s point of view

Dr. Ann said i’ll have to move around in a wheelchair for now, till my leg is almost healed.

And now, im on a wheelchair..
and being wheeled through the hospital hallway, by my mom as we head back to room 104.

Yes my mom..
My biological mother…
Mrs Roseline Ejifor.
I did forgave her…I did.

After Dr. Ann did the blood test and we confirmed that..that she is my mother.. I forgave her.

Yes, I was angry, bittered and disgusted when i saw the test result..
I cried so hard.. Because it felt so hard to believe..
It seemed unreal.

That a mother could abandon her child in a hospital due to financial problems and ugly conditions.

It was hard to believe that the Onohs were never my real family.

I found it so hard to accept.. but the truth was that, it was real.. I am Mrs Roseline’s child.
She never noticed.. She couldn’t recognize that i am her daughter all the while she saw me in Kelly’s house.
It was hurting.. so hurtful
But i did forgive her at last..
Forgivess is brings happiness..
Love..
unity..

Now, that woman was right behind me, as she wheeled me through the hallway.
For this past few days that she became my mother..

She had been great..
She had changed.

I think i am happy to have her… To meet her after twenty five years.

She told me about my wicked father.
A drunkard,
A bully and a beater.. who did nothing than drink himself to stupor and ask for sex each day from her..

Then beat her if she tries to speak.
I hate him really badly and i don’t wish to ever meet him.
Foolish man!

I wonder how he must be now.
My mom wondered as well.

She told me about her and Kelly’s secret.
She said i was the only person she had ever told.
She had come to Kelly’s home as a nanny to take care of them..

Their mother never had time for them.
She then took care of them as their nanny.. and the twins loved her more to the extent that they began seeing as their mother and called her mother as well.

Then soon after, she began to love Kelly’s father..
He’do complain to her about his wife being so so busy to have time for him.
No love making for months..

He’do swear that he loves his wife and find it hard to cheat on her..
She would feel pity for him.
But then, she had no idea how it happened,..He slept with her..

And Kelly’s mom tried to stab her with a knife but she dodged the hit by pushing her away, but unfortunately, Kelly’s mom fell and hit her head hard on the tile floor and died.

She begged Kelly who saw everything, not to reveal that she pushed his mother.
Kelly accepted but told her to become his mother in place of his real dead mom.
And she accepted..

She begged me not to reveal this to anyone.. and i promised not to.
I can’t blame her..

She’ve really got a long sad story to tell.
I felt her hand on my left shoulder.
I looked up at her and smiled.
She smiled back.
She look beautiful..

A changed mother all of a sudden..
I was happy Kelly forgave her too..
But i am more glad that Kelly and I can be together.
He had to go to the office today.. He have missed office for this few days i’ve been in the hospital..
He stayed with me..
And when he leaves in the night for his house.. He says house is gonna be freaking boring and lonely without me..
I’ve missed him all day and wish to see him soon. It was evening already… and he was going to get us dinner..
Im sure mom is hungry now… me too.
She refused eating.. when i told her i had no appetite to eat..
“Rose dear..” She called as we turned into a smaller and shorter hallway that leads directly to room 104..
We’ve gone to look around the hospital compound decorated and Beautified in colourful flowers and georgous carvings.
“I think KamCare is such a beautiful hospital.. What do you think?” She asked.
I smiled.
“Its one of the best.” I answered.
“Great answer dear.” She said..
“Its getting dark, Kelly should be on his way now.” She said.
“Yeah. He should.” I said.
“Do you love him like he do for you?” She asked.
Of course. I do.
“Yes mom.” I said.
She wheeled into room 104.
She stopped just beside the bed and came to me, and lowered herself so she could speak to me in a low tone..

She placed her both hands on my shoulders.
“You both deserve each other.” She smiled with a truthful smile.
I smiled at her.

“You are a wonderful lady.. Im glad Kelly had to meet you, save you from the fool who played with your heart and brought you his house.. and everything turned out for good.. And i found my daughter.. You..” She said with a brimful happiness.
I felt it and i smiled broadly.
“You are amazing.. A beauty with a golden heart.. You deserves his love.. Because you are just one in a million.” She said.
I smiled.. I was feeling the love of a mother again and i was happy..

Im sure the reason my foster mom couldn’t stay back for me was because i ain’t her real child..
If i am, im sure she would have stayed alive for me..
For her child.
“Thanks mom.” I said to my mom..

To this woman standing at my front…

“I promise to take good care of you.” She said.
“All those years, im gonna make up for my mistakes. I promise.” She said.
I smiled…
and then i drew her into a warm embrace..

Kelly’s point of view

I pulled into the nearest restaurant.
Mr BIGG’S.

Turned off my car engine, got down and quickly rushed in…
To get Rose and my mom their dinner.
They must be expecting me by now.
Those two..

I bought fried rice as usual..

That’s the best food i think i know for now…
Then i added bottle waters with exotic juice for dessert.

I paid the cute waitress and took the items packed in two yellow nylons.
I turned and walked out..

Getting out, and walking to my car,
I saw her…
The b—h!
Sugar.

She stepped out from a rangeover..
Hmm, what’s so d–n special about that.
I got two of it!

Rangeover sports!

Our eyes met and she looked down.
Ashamed obviously.

I chuckled..

Then a man came down from the other side..
It was that same man i saw her with that night at the restuarant..
And… he dressed like an alhaji this time..
Is he?
Of course.
S–t!
I scoffed.

I walked to my car as they walked into the restaurant..

She didn’t try looking back.
I thought she was gonna do that.
W—e!

Im so glad you are f—–g out of my life for good!

So disgusting!
B—h!

I turned on my car engine and drove out.
Now, when I got to the hospital, and walked up to room 104,
I met my mom talking with Rose who was on the wheelchair.
It hurt to see her on that s–t.. and i just can’t wait for her to get up from that..
Our eyes met.
She smiled happily.

I know she’s happy to see me… Just the way i am so happy to see her.
I’ve really missed her..
Hours without her have seemed to me like years without her.
Mom looked at me too.. she smiled then her smile turned into a frown.
A playful frown.
“What took you so long? You almost slept there.” Mom said.
I smiled.. Rose smiled too.
“Work had been kinda much.. Im sorry.” I said..
I dropped the items on a round glass table.
“You like it mom?” I asked her as i opened one of the plate to show them what’s inside.
“No.” she said..
Huh?
I frowned.
Then she laughed while Rose smiled.
“What about you Rose?” I asked Rose.
“I’ll have to taste it first.” She said.
I smiled.
I pushed the table really close to Rose so she can be able to reach for her food.
She took a spoon full..and ate.
Then she raised her eyebrows and twisted her lips
She look so cute.

Even though she still had bandage around her head.
“Wow.. Delicious.” She said.
I smiled, “Now mom, do you see?” I said.
Mom ignored me and went for her rice..
She opened it.
“Umm..I love the aroma tho.” She said.
I stared at her.
Such a funny woman.
She took a spoon full.
She closed her eyes, opened them again..
She just nodded, “Yummy.” She said.
I gave her a thumb up.
I looked at Rose..
She ate slowly.. little bites after little bites.
My mom noticed that too.
“Kelly, Rose seem she’s just so tired and can’t feed herself. Biko help out.”
Huh?
“Feed her please.. You can’t sit back there and just watch Rose do that.” She said.
“Oh mom.” Rose called.
I smiled.
I want to feed Rose..
Seriously, i want to.

So i grabbed her plate of rice took the spoon, took a spoon full of the rice.
“Open your mouth please.” I said.
“Kelly stop jor.”She said.
I know she’s shy about it…
“Rose, what is wrong about Kelly feeding you? Come on dear.” Mom said.
“Rose..” I called.
“Okay fine.. Just this one.” Rose said..
I smiled.
She opened her mouth and i feed her the rice.
My mom smiled broadly.
Rose was shy.

She reached for her plate of rice but i raised it up and held it there..away from her reach.
I shook my head.
“Lemme just feed you please.” I said.
I so wanted to.
She gave me a fierce look, “Ofcos not!” she said.
“Ofcos yes.” I said.
“No!” She said, trying to reach up and grab the rice but my hands went upper and she couldn’t reach up any further.
My mom watched us…like we are two teenage lovers.
“Yes.” I said, insisting.
“No!” She said.
“Yes.” I said
“No Kelly!”
“Yes.” I said and poked out my tongue playfully at her.

That made her laugh.
I finally ended up feeding Rose..
It was fun.
I won!
