He thought he passed out but was dissappointed but relieved he’s leaning heavily on the wall. Tennie was already lost in her world of overflowing tears, which I bet would bath the whole Lagos start for a year.

“I don’t know” she replied amidst sniffs.

They quickly adjusted themselves, feigning a just-concluding-business like composure, kniphemi walked to the door. He opened to see the ever glaring eyes of that S.U secretary, he walked past her and went to his office.

He has been drowned in thoughts ever since he dragged his miserable self home from work, thinking of the precarious situation he’s in, a woman getting pregnant for him, his MD at that, not knowing what to do, he decided to call his friend whizzy….how he wish he had followed whizzy’s advice, he thought.

He’s talk with Whizzy was a long one, but most of the talk was about him being on the receiving end of a cruel tongue-lashing from whizzy. Whizzy gave him a dressing down he couldn’t forget in a hurry, he would have ended the call but he didn’t just because he wants to hear what Whizzy will advice him to do.

“what should I do whizzy”, “I can’t turn back the hands of time”, “I said I’m sowie”, “help me out”, “advice me please” are what he could help but say while he endured the vocal assault directed at him from his friend.

After what seems like the light years from the sun to earth, whizzy said “I can’t categorically tell you what to do because I’ll need to think for a while (since I’m not sege the master planner) but I think you have to speak with your MD, to confirm the paternity of the baby, after that we can then know what to do”

Niphemi almost knocked himself for not thinking of that before getting worked up, he put a call across to her, he lightened her up a bit and finally setting up a meeting for later in the day. He freshened up and crashed on his bed……worn out.

Adesewa was a shadow of her normal self, face swollen, the ever-running tongue silenced, the jovial look replaced by a forlorn one, words can’t describe how inrecognible she look in the period of a few hours.

She drove home absentmindedly, running the red lights leaving a trail of colliding cars in her wake, curses flew at her from all the boiling drivers she almost ran into, children at Zebra crossing almost fled their bones when she didn’t slow down to let them cross. She dropped her bag abjectly on the floor and slumped into the chair.

She can’t stop finding reasons to blame her mum, with every reason be it concrete or otherwise she finds to blame her mum, so is the level of her wrath against her piling up. She was shaking with fury, the anger in her got so much that she felt its going to break her, she angrily flung her bag to the ground, knocking chairs over, broke the vase on the glass table at the center of the room by flunging it against the wall narrowly missing the TV, she hit the wall so bad that her knuckles hurt. After unleashing a sizeable part of the anger in her, she broke down crying like a baby, releasing the river Ganges in her eyeballs.

She has cried her herself out, spent, she crawled up at a corner, reminiscencing on the happenings of the last few hours, the anger feelings in her is now abated, it has been replaced by that familiar feeling of insecurity, replaced by a feeling of longing, that nostalgic feeling is coming over her al again, she was angry and also wants to see her mum again, she doesn’t want her again and she also want her again, she didn’t miss her buh she also missed her, she has always managed without her but she can’t manage without her anymore now that she has seen her mum…….she was so confused that she couldn’t help but cry all again.

She needed care and warmth right then and the only person who can give it to her right now is her heartthrob, she put a call across to him.

“honey, I saw my mum today” she said hastily into her phone immediately he picked it up, not trusting her voice. She was so hasty that she didn’t notice his broken voice.

“whaaaaaaaat” he said from the other end.
