Episode 4

I went to my fridge and picked a bottle of cold water to drink. My body needed something cold at that moment to cool down.

In two gulps the tumbler was empty as I quickly poured out a refill.

I lay back on the bed and stared at the ceiling for sometime wondering what was in stock for me. I later fell asleep afterwards and when morning came I didn’t know.

A knock on my door woke me up. It was my neighbour Jude.

“Guy u still dey sleep?” He asked peering into my room.

“Oh boi I still dey sleep o,” I replied.

“Hmm abeg u get pure water?”

I quickly went to my fridge and brought a sachet of water for him.

“Hope everything dey ok?” He asked staring at me.

“Yea evry evry dey ok,” I lied.

“Ok o if u say so,” he replied and left as I banged my door.

When I got back to my bed I noticed that my phone was ringing and Ijeoma was the person calling.

“Hello,” I answered.

“Yes sweetheart are you around?” She asked.

“Yes I am,” I replied.

“Ok I will be coming in the afternoon,” she informed.

“What of your project?” I asked wondering how come she now had time to visit all of a sudden.

“My project is fine,” she replied. “See you when I come.”

“No problem,” I replied still wondering.

I rushed off into the bathroom and had a quick bath. Then I rushed to the nearby chemist shop to buy some packets of c0nd0ms as the one I had in stock had finished. I also bought malaria tablets as well.

Then I went back to my room to await the coming of my girl…
