Episode 23

“She did what?, what happened to my daughter now?, tell me!”

the old lady demanded as she couldn’t withstand the suspence in Alice voice anymore.

“Ben killed her!”
Alice finally blurted.
“what??, ben did what?”
the old lady asked again as she couldn’t believe her ears.

Alice was silent for a moment, she decide and wanted the old lady to see for herself.
She led her to her car.

Her hands shakily opened the boot, while the old lady unknowingly slumped to the ground with a thud.

She fainted.

Alice never knew when she fell, it was until she heard the sound of the thud and she looked back to see the old lady lying flat on the floor motionless.

She screamed herself jumping up and down.
In no minutes, people had gathered around the incident.

They rushed the old lady to the nearby hospital and the nurses quickly took charge of the situation and attended to her.

The old lady was gasping out of breath as her chest heaved up and down.

The nurses worked relentlessly on her, they tried their possible best but lost her life at the end.

Alice was in the reception room. She was pacing up and down worriedly with uneasiness.

She regretted ever telling her the sad news.
She caught a glimpse of a nurse coming out. And quickly rushed to her to know the outcome of the old lady’s predicament.
“madam, we’re sorry, her condition was extremely critical, she’s suffering from hypertension, high blood pressure and it was at its peak, we tried our best to revive her but unfortunatelly we lost her!. Sorry for the loss ma’am!”

the nurse said and left immediately.

Alice stood transfixed trying to figure out what the young nurse had said.

She scratched her head roughly as realization hit her.

She felt guilty and responsible for the loss.
“oh! No!”
she let out a mumbled scream.
