Temptation

Episode 9

They met a man on their way to Nancy’s ward.
Ben recognized the man as the man he’d seen weeping earlier in the reception room.

“Sir! excuse me Sir!”

The man said raising up his index finger.

Doctor Richard motioned Ben to give them some privacy.

Ben stood aside Non-challantly. All he was thinking was just to see his wife. He hadn’t believe what doctor richard said. He wanted to see for himself. If she’s fine why would he gave me such a heartbreaken news?

Ben asked himself.

He stood impatiently watching the duo talking
.
“Doc. Is it true?, that my wife is gone!, gone forever?”

the man shouted almost breaking down into another round of tears.

His eyes were already swollen and puffy from crying.

Doctor richard knew what he gonna deal with.

The man is the husband to the deceased wife, whose name was also Nancy.

“am sorry sir!, she’s gone, i tried all my best but she couldn’t make it. She’s already in the world beyond. Just take heart Sir!, and be strong. Everything would be alright”

Doctor richard said holding his shoulder trying to console him.

What a pity!

He felt sorry for the man but there’s nothing he could do to stop her. The evil hands of death had strucked her.

“I….i….. Can’t just beleive this!, Ah! Nancy, why do you leave me in this lone world. You are my joy!. You never told me you’ll leave so soon. Ah Nancy!”

the man wailed loudly crying.

Ben had been watching the duo but that didn’t interest him until when he saw the man burst out crying.

Obviously, he’d lost his wife
he shake his head pitying the man.

He hoped it wouldn’t be his turn to be pitied.

“where is she?”
the man asked amidst sobs.

“they are preparing to take her to the morgue”
doctor richard replied.

“but can i take a last look at her?”
the man asked. He had already stopped crying.
“sure! You can.”

doctor richard approved him to go ahead.
Doctor richard patted him while he wanted to go and said

“God taketh and God giveth, i pray her soul rest in peace.”

“A……m…..e….n!”
the man stutterd while he re-ignited his cry engine.

The man left while doctor richard and Ben went to Nancy’s room.

Ben’s heart was thumping loud like a locomotive train.

As they reached Nancy’s door.

Ben shakily opened the door and they both went in.

Ben suddenly stopped in his tracks when he saw Nancy.

His heart flew into his hands.

He never knew it was this serious.

He saw an oxygen combustion engine, stucked to her nose, while different types of drip were passed into her body.

Most of her body parts were covered with bandage due to the shattering glass of her car which pierced her soft skin.

Doctor richard was still watching behind.
“Noooooo!”

Ben let out a loud scream
