The weeks came and gone so quickly that I didn’t even realize it was time for Anuty mercy to go back to her base, she gave me her home address and ask me to come two weeks after because immediately she get to her base she’s going outside the country for something important, I was sad she was already leaving but was happy very soon I will join her in the city. I wasn’t yet a celebrity but I felt like one do you guys have any ideal how it feels to have a celebrity friend talk more someone who is more like a sister I never had, we were always together Amaka tried to become my close friend because of mercy Johnson and some of her colleague that sometimes come to stay in my place, I gave her her distance, she’s not my friend but an attention seeker, girls that have never spoken to me before now wants to be friends because they want to get closer to my mercy. She gave me an android phone before she left, I wasn’t expecting anything from her, accepting me into her home would be enough for me. She thought me everything I needed to know in the phone before she left.

TWO WEEKS LATER
I travel to her place, she was so welcoming and happy to see me she couldn’t wait to gist me about her trip to London, I was happy too finally I’m out of that village but deep down I know one day I would return to my father’s land my only prayer is I should have made a difference.

My stay with mercy Johnson was the best anyone could ask for, she did everything in her powers to make me comfortable, took me shopping changed all my clothes and taught me how to wear hills.

I never for once told her about my dreams and desire to act, I kept it to myself I wasn’t sure why I didn’t tell her maybe I was waiting for the right time or I wasn’t sure she will help me out.

You guys might probably be wondering how, where and when I met my celebrity crush ( lol) All thanks to mercy who always want to make me fit in, she wants me to be happy and relaxed. She took me to Red carpet where all the celebrities meet to celebrate or showcase one thing or the other. She introduced me to everyone that I am her baby sister ( it felt like heaven shaking hands with the celebrities) we took our sits and waited for the program to start properly. A lady and a guy came out and spoke for a very long time, then an artist came to perform we all got up and dance ( I didn’t dance ooooh, was too shy to take a foot) it was time for award giving, when they call your name you just come out take your award and say a few words. Ini Edo was called out first ( that lady is truly elegant, true beauty) she went out pecked the lady and the guy took her award and just a “thank you” she walked back to her sit. Some other actors were called out too, took their award say a few words then back to their sit.

When they called mercy Johnson for the best actress of the year, I couldn’t help but scream out of joy she hugged me before she went outside to take her award.

MERCY JOHNSON
I want to say thank you to everyone who is here and those watching us at home, I love you ( her tears dropped, she quickly wiped it away) and God bless you all….thank you.
She return back to her sit which was closer to mine, I tapped her hand and told her she did great out there. The last but not the list Frederick Leonard how can I forget the face? Never met him before or even seen any of his movies but his name was what got my interest. I waited for the person to walk out, he was sitting at the back and slowly he made his way to the front. Oh my God his a Nigerian dude, his name sounded like a foreigner but he is pure Nigeria, I stare at him like a lost sheep, his shady eye bra shine bright, his lips picky and cute, my heart was beating fast so fast that I fear mercy would hear the sound.

MERCY JOHNSON
That’s the ladies man, his handsome but also a viper.

I didn’t hear her or should I say I heard her but my voice was lost, my young heart could not handle what it was feeling at that moment, I placed my two hands on my chest watching how his lips moved from every word he spoke.

MERCY JOHNSON
Are you OK?

LESLEY
huh? (I turn to look at her) yeah yeah I’m fine.

He finish his speech with “I love you” who was he referring too? Us? The viewers at home? Or his wife? The thought of him having a wife hurt my young heart that I quickly wave that stupid thought aside.

After the show (well the party was not yet over) I was tired and sleepy so mercy decided to take us home, outside the parking lot she opened the door and asked me to enter, she wanted to see someone before we leave. Before I could say a word she ran back into the hall.

I wanted to tell her I was press but she’s already out of my sight I have to look for the rest room myself. After walking for like 15 minutes I finally found the rest room, I was so press, I quickly ease myself, washed my hands and came out. Then I heard his voice ” d–n it Brenda you know that’s not true, I have nothing to do with that girl she only hugged me as a friend and nothing more” I wanted to ignore the voice and just walk away but no my stupid legs won’t listen it walked till I got to see how the Brenda of a girl slapped him across the face. My mouth flew open, I held my chest out of shock. ” this relationship is over, you think I’m a fool I saw you kissing that lady and you stand there to tell me its just a friendly hug” she told him. I watch him rub his cheeks ” I kissed her and so what? Everyone what’s to eat their own share, I’m enough to go round baby” (he tried to pull her closer and she gave him another slap) ” you b—–d, God will punish you for playing with my feelings”( she ran off)
He rub his cheeks again ” that b—h how dare she slap me twice?

LESLEY
You deserve it (he turn to look at me)

FREDERICK
And who the f–k are you?

LESLEY
No one, but a piece of advice your stupidity won’t take you anywhere.

FREDERICK
Anywhere? Are you OK? I just received three different kind of awards tonight and you say ” I can’t get anywhere “?

LESLEY
Let those award fill your empty space, the space in your heart….. ( I stare at him for a while) you are truly what she called you ” a b—–d”

I ran off to the parking lot, mercy was already in the car.

LESLEY
Sorry I went to the rest room

OK let’s go( she drove out of the parking lot)
