I couldn’t sleep that night, all I did was think of Frederick Leonard ( his name stock in my head like gum) I have never felt this way before in my life why is he different or what’s so special about him? Earlier I asked mercy Johnson about Frederick and she told me his every woman’s dream man, his tall, cute and wealthy every girl wants him. Should I just forget this nonsense I’m feeling? God its going to be hard but I will try and do it after all his nothing but a total jerk…

Christmas came so quickly and the year was already coming to an end, mercy decided to throw a party in her house, she invited a lots of guests even director UCHE was there trust me when I say he was shock to see me in Mercy’s house not just that looking all defined and beautiful, I walked up to him and greeted him.

LESLEY
Hi, Mr UCHE

UCHE
I will be damned, what are you doing here?

LESLEY
( I laughed) you don’t need to know what I’m doing here that should be a headache for you…how’s work?

UCHE
Work is good and girl you have really change…you look so pretty.

LESLEY
Thanks. If you would excuse me I have guests to welcome.

I smiled and walked away I could swear his eyes were still on me while I walked away. I went into the kitchen to check on the cooks it was time for them to bring out the spice meat yet nothing was brought out. Paul the chef told me they would be out in a few, I smiled at him and walked out, from no where someone ran into me, letting all his drink pour on my white armless gown, I was so angry but I had to put my anger in check as not to embarrass my sister’s visitor. I was still trying to clean the stain from my clothes when he looked at me with my phone that he has been looking for since he ran into me ” I’m so sor…..( he pause to look at me) wait have we meet before? My heart skipped since that night at red carpet I haven’t seen him or heard anything about him. In fact I was gradually forgetting about him, what the hell is he doing here? ” oh my God I insulted him the day we met, what if he recognized me” I collected my phone from him and ran upstairs.. ” wait please” he screamed after me but I didn’t stop I ran till I enter into my room.
I took a deep breath ” what the hell is he doing here” I just took off my clothes and went into the bath room to shower. Immediately I came out my phone started to ring I took it and to my surprise the screen was broken, so bad that I didn’t know who was calling I just picked the call

LESLEY
Hello!!

MERCY JOHNSON
Where are you? There’s someone I would love you to meet.

LESLEY
Someone accidentally poured drink on me, I came to change my dress.

MERCY JOHNSON
awwwn sorry about that baby, just do quickly alright?

LESLEY
Yes boss ( I joked, she laughed before she hung up)

I opened my bag and looked for something simple to wear then spray my body, did a little make-up before I went downstairs.
Immediately she saw me ( Mercy Johnson) she came and held my hand and walked me to where some people were sited.

MERCY JOHNSON

LESLEY
Evening sir ( I knelt down to greet him)

OLU JACOB

I greeted all the other guest one after the other before I left to get something to eat (d–n I was so hungry) I went into the kitchen and dish some food for myself. Immediately I came out from the kitchen there he was standing at the door.

FREDERICK
I know you, you are that brat that insulted me that day at the award giving right?

LESLEY
I don’t know what you talking about Sir ( I politely push him out of the way)

FREDERICK
If you don’t know me why did you run earlier and you still running away again.
I stopped on my track, turn to face him.

LESLEY
Yes I was the girl that insulted you, what will you do? pull my hair, or slap me for insulting you huh?

FREDERICK
( he laughed then quickly frown) you think I’m a girl? I don’t do that kind of s–t okay?

LESLEY
Whatever!!! Can I go now Mr ?

FREDERICK
I like you, you have guts and for a girl of your age to sound this bold….I’m impressed.

LESLEY
if you would excuse me, my food is getting cold ( I turn to leave) but he pulled me back and my phone fell again

LESLEY
( I screamed at him) you want to finally damage it huh? Are you just ( I calm myself down) don’t dare touch me again.

He picked the phone from the floor, turn it over I guess he was shock how bad the phone had turned.

FREDERICK
I’m sorry, didn’t mean to damage your mobile, I will get you a new one.
I collected my phone from him, stare at him for a while.

LESLEY
I’m sorry for yelling at you….but I don’t need your phone or whatsoever.
I dropped the food on the table and ran into my room, my appetite was already lost, just took off my heels and enter under my duvet and slept. The next morning which was Saturday mercy Johnson came into my room to wake me up.

LESLEY
Good morning.

MERCY JOHNSON
Morning sleepy head. How was your night?

LESLEY
Night was cold, sweet and calm….yours?

MERCY JOHNSON
(She laughed) all this for just your night? Huh you must have had a sweet dream…who was it(she tickle me) who was the cute guy you dreamt of?

LESLEY
No one (I said laughing) please stop.
She stopped and jumped on the bed.

MERCY JOHNSON
Common tell me please ( she wink at me)

LESLEY
( I laughed) honesty I didn’t dream, my night was just good that all.

MERCY JOHNSON
I checked up on you last night but you were sleeping soundly so I just left…it was unlike you, did something happen at the party?
Yeah something happened I met the jerk I’m crushing on, we had a lot of issues and argument but how can I tell her all this?

LESLEY
Nothing happened, I was too tired so I retired to bed.

MERCY JOHNSON
Good, because if anyone say something to hurt you they we have me to face.
