Episode 5

Emelia stepped out of the train and onto the platform. All through the journey she had sulked. Why should she care about someone she didn’t even KNOW? Not to talk of even marrying him? Their damn tradition could go to blazes for all she cared. She had decided long ago she wasn’t going to go along with it. She had Oleg and no one and no stupid tradition could take what they had away. Who was this Nataniel anyway? Well, she was going to find out in a few hours.
She walked out of the station and looked around for her sister. Oleg had been quite unhappy when he heard she was going to meet this Nataniel guy. They had a plan for him to show up sometimes later in the week. That at least made him a bit happier.
Sofia saw her sister walking out of the station. She immediately beeped her horn twice, flashing her headlights to get her attention. Emelia dragged her box and plopped it into the trunk. She opened the door and sat down beside her sister with a huff.

“And where has that gotten you right now?” Emelia asked dryly.
Sofia winced, but kept her composure. “Look, all I’m saying is give the guy a chance. He’s a nice kid.”
“Oh really? If he’s such a nice kid why not keep him for yourself? You’re the one who needs a man in her life right now, don’t you?”
Sofia disregarded the insult. She focused on the road ahead of her
