Victoria: Who are you?

Felix: I’m Felix, the guy you were talking to.

Victoria: You are James’ friend?. Then, why are you with a gun threatening my daughter and I?

Felix: I’m not your husband’s friend.

Victoria: I don’t understand.

Felix: Just know, everything that happened was a ploy to get you.

Victoria: Ploy?

Felix: Yes, ploy.

Victoria: What about my husband? Where is he?

Felix: That I do not know.

Victoria: What do you mean? How come his phone got to you?

Felix: We came in contact with him at some point so, we kinda stole the phone.

Victoria: “we?”

Felix: Yes, “we”. I’m not the only one. My partner will be here soon.

Victoria: So, what exactly do you want?

Felix: Me? Nothing I just want you to corporate with me and no harm will come to you.

Victoria: My husband must have done something to make you come after us. Is he owing you or something?

Felix: Owing me? No. This has nothing to do with money.

Victoria: Then?

Felix: (laughed uncontrollably). Wait, it’s like you’re unaware that your husband works for a drug dealer.

Victoria: it’s a very big lie. I have been married to James over the years now and he has not ventured into any illegal business.

Felix: and you’re so sure.

Victoria: Yes, I am so sure.

Felix: Anyways, believe what you want but, just know that your husband’s people are responsible for the death of our leader and we will not spare any one of them.

Victoria: (dumbfounded).

Felix: I’m very sorry that you both are casualties in this conflict but, unless James shows up. I’m sorry, you guys would have to be confined till further notice.

Victoria was dumbstruck. She began to rethink things like the money her husband sent to her, how he had been lying to her that he had gotten a new business. She didn’t care about anything else. If she found James, she would kill him herself for putting them in danger, especially Laura who didn’t really know what was going on. She just stood there staring at the man talking to her mother.

Gbenga sat on one of the sofas in Idowu’s living room resting. He knew Idowu would be in his other house but he was too tired to do anything considering his arm hence, he rested for a while.

Unknown: How come Idowu is not in this house?

Gbenga: Someone must have tipped him.

Gbenga: Make sure, you get people you trust to take care of this place, it is a mess.

Unknown: Yes sir but, what do we do about Idowu?

Gbenga: I know where he is, there is no other hiding place for him. Ehen, hope you didn’t touch the maids and chefs…

Unknown: No, we didn’t but, they’re shaken from the incident.

Gbenga: We will give them a chance to decide. Inform them of the new event of things. If they comply, let them resume their duties. If they don’t, you know what to do.

Unknown: (sighed) Yes sir.

Gbenga: Get four really strong people including yourself. In ten minutes, we leave for Idowu’s hideout.

Unknown: Okay sir.

Tina: Just wait in the car. I want to talk to the gateman.

Idowu: You want to take permission from the gateman before you bring people into your own house?

Tina: Don’t forget, it’s not my house. It’s my parents’.

James: But, it’s just a stupid gateman.

Tina: Well, that stupid gateman is the one my parents trust with their being.

Idowu: (frowned) just be fast about it.

James: (shrugged) Any news from Ola?

Tina: We’ve been in the same car since the past one hour, if I had spoken to Ola, surely, you’d be aware.

Idowu: James be calm, everything would be fine….

Tina walked over to the gateman’s abode by the gate. She knocked, he came outside looking extremely furious.

Gateman: Who you carry come house again.

Tina: (laughing awkwardly). They are just my friends, they’ll go.

Gateman: When?

Tina: (scratching her head) See eh, the thing is, for now, they are homeless. They don’t have a place to stay in, so they should be here for just three days maximum.

Gateman: (looked at her despicably).

Tina: Sir, so uhm, can they stay?

He still said nothing, he ignored her and went back inside leaving her utterly confused. She waited for a while and left when she noticed that he wouldn’t say anything to her.

Idowu: Can we get down now?

Tina: Yes, let’s go in.

Idowu: Good.

James: So, this client of yours, when is he coming into town?

Idowu: Like I said, in two days.

James: What about my wife and kid.

Idowu: We’ll offer Ola money to release them, he can’t refuse money definitely.

Tina: You sound so sure about that. I know Ola ooo, he’s a very stubborn person.

Idowu: Stubborn or not, nobody can refuse money.

Victoria: so, how long are you gonna keep us here?

Felix: Till my partner gets here.

Victoria: (frowned). My daughter is hungry.

Felix: She’ll have to eat later then.

Victoria: She’s just a kid, she hasn’t had anything besides breakfast and it’s lunchtime.

Felix: I’m very sorry, I have strict instructions not to let you out of my sight.

Just as Felix finished speaking, his phone rang.

Ola: Felix, I’m at the front of the compound.

Felix: Just enter, the last door by your right.

Ola: Okay, I’m coming now.

Victoria: That’s your partner, right?

Felix: Yes.

There was a knock on the door, few minutes after.

Felix: Stand up, open the door, don’t think of anything stupid

Victoria: I’m not stupid, I have a kid with me.

Felix: It’s good you know.

Victoria opened the door to see a mean looking individual. She was frightened and she couldn’t hide it.

Ola: Won’t you allow me in?

Victoria: (Tried to hide her fear) like I have a choice.

Ola: Yeah, you don’t. (Pushed her aside and entered)

Felix: What took you so long?

Ola: it was the car issue sha.

Felix: So?

Ola: Hmmmm’, Victoria, you have a cute little girl here.

Victoria moved to her daughter’s position and held her firmly.

Victoria: Don’t you dare look at her.

Ola: See, the thing is, your husband is involved in some stuffs. So uhm, to get him, I think, your daughter would be just the right person I need and not you. So, I’m going to need to borrow her till your husband shows up.

Victoria: There’s no way, my daughter is leaving with you.

Ola: (chuckled and sat on the bed). Okay, you actually have two options. Let her go with me or I kill you both.

Felix: Victoria, Ola is not joking. He’ll really kill you both. I know you might not care about your life but, consider your daughter.

Victoria: (Sobs).

Laura: Mummy, where is he taking me to?

Ola: To my house. Wouldn’t you like to go with me?

Laura: No.

Ola: Why?

Laura: Because, I don’t like you.

Ola: I know you don’t but, you don’t have a choice.

Victoria: Where are you taking her to?

Ola: You don’t need to know. Be rest assured that we’ll keep in touch with you.

Ola: So, I don’t have time to waste. We are all going to move out now. If you make any suspicious move at all and your neighbors get the slightest hint of what’s going on. Trust me, your daughter will be my first target.
