Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 18

It was noon. Victoria and James were restless. Particularly Victoria.

Idowu was mostly concerned about his dead phone and his meeting with the client the next day. After hearing about Ola’s threats, he knew, there was very little he could do to protect their daughter. He wanted to tell them outright but, he didn’t want to be the one to give them bad news.

Tina was unhappy about what had befallen their daughter. The Ola she knew, didn’t make empty threats. If he said, he’s kill, he would do exactly as he said, be it a man, woman or infant. Ola was that brutal. There was no way, she’d tell them, she would let them find out by themselves.

Victoria: See, I told you we should just go to the police.

James: I said, it would put me in trouble. Don’t worry, everything will be fine.

Victoria: just shut up, don’t tell me that. You have been saying that, since yesterday. This is 12:00pm. No news yet from Ola.

James: We can’t reach him, his phone is switched off.

Victoria: Wait, so, because his phone is switched off, we should fold our arms and do nothing?

Tina: Victoria, keep calm. Just calm down.

Victoria: If your daughter was kidnapped. Would you calm down?

Tina: Whatever! There’s a place, I know of though.

Idowu: Which place.

Tina: An uncompleted building, where he’d keep Laura.

Victoria: Address.

Tina gave the details of the address to them.

Victoria: That’s the same address he sent to Felix.

Tina: That place was our little crib. During weekends, we’d go there and have fun. Ola, Richard and I.

Victoria: He mentioned that name, Richard.

Tina: Yes, Richard was very dear to Ola. They were childhood friends.

Victoria: Then, The people my husband work for killed him.

She looked at James, like, she’s murder him any moment.

Tina: (Sighed) Let’s not talk about his death. Let’s talk about your daughter.

That house was only known to the three of us, that’s why he texted it to Felix because if Felix had gone there, it would be the first time for him.

Idowu: Okay, fine. Let’s assume, he is there. How do we get there and take your daughter out?

Victoria: it’s four to one. He will be outnumbered. But wait, how are you sure, he hasn’t killed Laura?

Tina: I won’t lie to you. I’m not sure of anything, let’s just hope, he hasn’t.

Victoria: When are we going there?

James: Now!

Tina: Now?

James: Yes, now.

Idowu: Okay, you know, Tina and I, can’t go with you guys.

Tina: Speak for yourself.

I’m going with them.

Idowu: If Ola’s sees you, with them..

Tina: Let him see me.

James: Thank you Tina.

Victoria: Let’s start going already.

James: We will.

Tina: Just hold on, I’ll get my car keys.

Victoria: I still think, we should get the police involved.

Tina:(laughed) the police are currently on my trail. Those bodies found in Richard’s apartment didn’t just fall from the sky. Sooner or later, they would find out but, by then, hopefully, I’d be out of here.

Victoria: Bodies?

Tina: Yes, bodies. James understand.

Victoria was dumbstruck.

James noticed his wife’s countenance towards him. That was not the first time, he had seen that look on her face. She only gave that look, when she hated somebody to the core.

James: It’s enough, let’s start going already.

Victoria: This is my daughter’s life, we are talking about here. If you guys are not going to the police with me, I’m going alone. I don’t need you to follow. Right now, they are the only ones that can help me. I promise, I won’t mention your names.

Don’t even think of stopping me.

Tina: (scoffed) so, you really want to go?

Tina left to get her car key.

Victoria: Yes, I won’t take your car. I just need a little change for T-fare, I promise, I won’t mention your names.

James: It’s not about going to the police. Victoria please, be considerate here. If Ola realizes he’s surrounded by the police, he’s use our daughter as a shield. He could even kill her on the spot. Let’s just go together.

Idowu: Listen to your husband.

Tina returned to the living room and went straight to the door.

Tina: let’s go.

Idowu: Wait, Tina, please before you go, do you have any spare clothes for James and I? We haven’t had a change of clothes since almost two days now.

Tina: As you can see, I’m a girl. I only have spare clothes for Victoria. The only male clothes in this house are my dad’s.

Idowu: (Grunted) okay, fine.

Victoria and James went out with Tina towards the car. Tina had entered the before James and Victoria. James was about to go in, when Victoria held James’s hand.

Victoria: If anything happens to Laura, I promise you, I will become worse than hell for you, not only will I go to the police, I will see to it, that you spend the rest of your life in jail.

James said nothing. He just nodded his head in agreement. He was just as unhappy as she was. How did he get to this kind of situation? Few weeks ago, he was destitute but, he had peace of mind. He had over a hundred thousand in his bank account but, he couldn’t spend it in joy, even if he wanted to. It wasn’t just Victoria, if anything happened to his daughter, he’s never forgive himself.

Ola looked at Laura’s lifeless body on the floor.

(TEN HOURS EARLIER)

Ola got home after discovering that Felix was dead. He had tears in his eyes. Richard was dead, now Felix. The life he had was because of Richard, Richard had saved him severally, they killed him and, those same people killed Felix. There was no way he’s spare Laura.

He got to the room where he locked Laura. He didn’t hear her screams. She just sobbed. He opened the door and she rushed towards him aggressively, not to harm him but, in fear.

Laura was a little girl. She had been alone for the past three hours alone. She was scared.

Ola misunderstood this, the way, she held him got him angry. He slapped her without thinking. She fell to the ground screaming in pain.

Ola: Shut up.

Laura just screamed and cried.

The screams only agitated him further.

He pulled her up, in an attempt to lift her towards the bed, then probably hit her again.

Laura was just a kid but, that didn’t matter to Ola. All he felt was hatred. He wanted to murder her in the most brutal way and he wanted to make it slow.

However, he killed her faster than he hoped. As he raised her up, holding the nape of her dress, he pushed her towards the bed. She weighed like forty one pounds, hence, she swayed freely like a paper in the wind and hit her skull at the edge of the wood, that served as a pillar for the bed.

It was just as the same method, at which Felix died, the only difference was that, it wasn’t a pestle, it was the sharp edge of a wood and, unlike Felix, she died immediately, considering how soft her skull was.

Ola was motionless for a while, he didn’t hear her screams. He watched her fall to the ground, then he saw the thick black blood on the wood.

Not that, he felt bad or anything, he was amazed that she could just die that way. To him, he didn’t kill her, it was just an accidental and coincidental incident.

He shook his head, locked the door, left her body on the floor and hopped into the bed to sleep. He didn’t take off his shoes or anything, he just slept off as he was extremely exhausted.

He woke up at noon, majorly because of hunger.

Ola hissed when he got up from the bed, as he saw Laura’s lifeless body. He sat down again, wondering what to do with it.
