Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 20

Victoria stormed out of the room angrily.

Victoria: Bring her body.

She ordered James.

James picked up Lauraā€™s body with ease, there were no tears in his eyes. All he felt was regret. He remembered being poor, at least, Laura was still alive.

Tina knew how they felt. She was the last person to leave the building. She stared at the bed remembering the old good times herself, Ola and Richard shared. Somehow, she blamed herself for Lauraā€™s death. If she hadnā€™t connived in killing Richard, Ola would have no need to Kidnap anybody, Felix and Laura would still be alive. She did it for the money. Money that hadnā€™t been paid into her account yet. She vowed to get that money from Idowu, otherwise, Richard had just died for free. The thought of Ola out there put fear in her. If Ola could kill a kid because, her parents killed Felix, what would he do to her, if he found out, she had a hand in Richardā€™s death.

Tina joined Victoria and James outside. They were waiting for her to open the car. Victoria couldnā€™t look at her daughterā€™s body. It was far too horrible for her.

Tina moved to the car, avoiding Victoriaā€™s gaze, she didnā€™t want any trouble.

James: Please open the booth too.

Victoria: Eh, for what?

James: To putā€¦

Victoria: Donā€™t let me kill you here. No one is putting Laura into the booth.

Victoria meant it, she was ready to kill anyone. The only person, she tried to stay alive for was dead. She didnā€™t mind spending the rest of her life in prison.

James: Okay, fine. But, are we taking her to Tinaā€™s house?

Victoria: Who said, we are taking her to Tinaā€™s house?

Tina: Then, where are we taking her?

Victoria: Where are dead bodies kept?

Tina & James: Mortuary?

Victoria: yes, just take my daughter and I there and go your way.

James: What do you mean?

Victoria: I mean, drop my daughter and I at the mortuary and get lost. Make sure you hide well because, I will mourn my daughter and after that, Iā€™m coming for you.

Tina rolled her eyes, hearing Victoriaā€™s statement. She signalled James to put her body at the back seat of the car to avoid any trouble with Victoria.

Victoria refused to stay at the backseat with Laura. She wanted to seat beside Tina to make sure, Tina didnā€™t divert from the road leading to the nearest mortuary.

Idowu looked at the card given to him by the inspector. It was like a death warrant. He was frustrated, he couldnā€™t make calls, his battery was flat. He was practically trapped in Tinaā€™s apartment as he was hiding from Gbenga. Idowu had enough cash in his account to escape if he wanted to but, he had his eyes on the cash that would come from those drugs, if sold to the client.

Tina drove them to the mortuary. Victoria got down from the car and instructed James to bring out her body from the car.

Tina came out immediately after instructing James to wait in the car.

Tina: See, Victoria, I know youā€™re very angry right now, you have every right to be angry but, this is stupid. You can just bring her body here.

Victoria watched her speak, to her, she was blabbing.

Victoria: Why not?

Tina: Vicky, you donā€™t have a doctorā€™s report.

Victoria: Iā€™m her mother.

Tina: Is that what, youā€™ll tell them, when they ask about the injury on her head?

Victoria knew Tina was right, in fact, she was thinking, she had subtle plans. She was aware that, whether it was the hospital or mortuary, the cause of her death was visual, it was clearly murder. How would they start explaining anything to anybody? She knew all this but, she wanted them to believe she wasnā€™t thinking.

Victoria: So, are we taking her to your house?

Tina: No, we are not taking her to any house. We have to bury her somewhere.

James got out of the car to listen clearly. He placed Lauraā€™s head gently on the car seat, like she was asleep.

James: Whatā€™s going on?

James questioned as he opened the car door.

Tina: Iā€™m trying to tell her that, we canā€™t drop her here and we have to leave before, the staffs would find us here.

James: Victoria, please, try to see reason.

Victoria: I canā€™t see any reasons right now. I need a place to keep her body in order to give her a befitting burial. Tina said, we canā€™t bring her to her house, what do you want me to do?

James looked at Tina pathetically.

Tina knew what he wanted to request for. She waved her hands in disapproval.

James: Tina pleaseā€¦

Tina: No way, Iā€™m already feeding you all at my house. Thereā€™s no freaking way, Iā€™m bringing a dead body to my house.

Victoria placed her hands at the roof top of the car bowing her heads and dripping tears from her eyes.

James: Tina, I swear, first thing tomorrow afternoon, Iā€™d hire an ambulance, weā€™d get a doctorā€™s report, anyhow, weā€™d bring her back here.

Tina: No way.

James: Please, you know, we canā€™t take her to my house. Felixā€™s body is still there, you know right?

Tina: (Shrugged). My parents would return in two days.

James: Saturday morning?

Victoria: Yes.

James: Weā€™d be out before then but, please, we need your help now.

Tina: A minute past noon tomorrow, if she is not yet out, I promise to throw you all out. Get in the car.

Victoria was glad but, visibly, she had this awful look on her face. Everything was going the way she had hoped it would. She was going to expose them all. Agreeing to take Lauraā€™s body to her house, would be the worst mistake of her life.

Tina had to drive through deserted

roads to get home. There was a dead body in the car, she didnā€™t want to stop at any checkpoints. After two hours of driving, they got home.

The gateman intentionally ignored Tinaā€™s conistent beeping of the horn. He was mad at her. As far as he was concerned, she would open the gates herself.

Idowu heard the consistent beeping of the car. He came out to see what was going on, he noticed that the gate man refused to do his job.

Idowu: I swear, if that guy was my gateman, Iā€™d have murdered him a long time ago.

Furiously, Victoria left the car, she banged on the gate yelling the gatemanā€™s name. .

Idowu heard Tinaā€™s yell. He shook his head in disgust and went towards the gate to do something, he hadnā€™t done in years.

Idowu: Tina, Iā€™ll open it.

Tina: Thank you.

Idowu opened the gate like a kid struggling with a corkscrew.

Tina drove in evidently pissed off.

Idowu saw a kidā€™s figure on Jamesā€™s thigh, through the window of the car. He guessed that itā€™d be Laura. He was amazed that they rescued Laura from Ola, he thought Laura was asleep.

Tina drove the car, closer to the house than usual. It was for easy transfer of the body into the house, without the gateman suspecting anything.

Victoria came out of the car in haste like, she was being chased, she locked the gate behind them as Idowu, refused to do so.

James hadnā€™t still come out with the body. He was discussing with Victoria about where the body would be kept.

Tina: in you and your wifeā€™s room, of course.

James: Oh, okay

Victoria came closer to the car.

Victoria: (softly) bring out the body.

Idowu thought he heard wrong.

Idowu: Body?

Victoria: Shush. Do you want the gateman to hear?

Tina came out of the car.

Idowu: (whispered) he killed Laura?

Victoria: (shaky voice) Yes.

Idowu: Oh God and you brought the body home?

Tina: Where did you expect us to keep her. See, letā€™s go inside and discuss.

Victoria: James, come out already.

Tina opened the car door for him, while Victoria opened the main door.

James came out of the car holding Laura like a bride.

Idowu was distraught.

Idowu: Tina

Idowu called as they went inside.

Tina: Yes?

Idowu brought a card from his pocket.

Idowu: You see this card? Itā€™s from an inspector. The police came here looking for you today and the next thing Iā€™m seeing is a dead body?

Tina: The police?

Idowu: Yes, the police, he instructed me to call him whenever you arrived.

Victoria: Thatā€™s not really a bad idea.

Tina and Idowu were astonished at her statement.

James came out from the room after dropping Lauraā€™s body in the guest room.

James: Whatā€™s not really a bad idea?

Victoria: The police.

James didnā€™t like the look on Victoriaā€™s face, she was up to something and he couldnā€™t place his finger on anything.
