Episode 31

Stanley POV
I woke up to see myself in the hospital, what am i doing here i said as i attempt to stand up, but then i noticed that i have gotten some injuries in my head, really but how, then i remembered that very day it happened, how i went to meet the guys disturbing the community with their noises and how i got busted all because i was trying to correct them, I looked around the places, it was then i got to realize that I’m in the hospital, but at that time no one was inside, though i tried to call anyone maybe the doctor but the close door didn’t permit my voice to be heard by anyone. After some minutes time then a nurse came in, she didn’t notice me so i pretend to hear from her, then i heard her said this man is dead, he will be transfer to another hospital tomorrow, really does that means I’m dead i said to myself, after then she went back outside as she closed the door. God what’s wrong with me, I’m i dead for real i said to myself as series of things begin to run in my head, I remembered my sisters, does that means this is the end of my life, does that means I won’t see my sisters again, does that means my friends won’t see me again i said as water kept coming from my eyes. But wait come to think of it, do the dead people hear voices of the living once because as at then, i have been hearing people voice here in the hospital so i was confused about it, I tried standing up maybe open the door and see if people will recognize me but seriously i was weak to do that.

After about an hour time then a man of his 40th years came inside the room, maybe he had noticed me so he rushed to where i was laying, you’re awake i heard him said, really can you hear me i asked him, yeah he replied, he must have be the doctor in charge , hearing this i was happy but wait i heard a lady said I’m dead the other time she came to check on me, and even said i will be transfer to another hospital i said, yeah she’s right but you’re not dead, even i just finished speaking with your friends about the transfer some minutes back but don’t worry it’s good to see you now he replied, later then he told me that some nurse will attend to me, that was after he had observed me and do all necessary things before he went out of the room that very night, wow thank God I’m not dead, atleast i will still see my friends again i sigh as my hand hit my head then i screamed, guess the wound is it there and paining.

Mrs Linda POV

After Linda left my room that morning I was happy about the the money she help me collect from my customer, then i decided to check on Abbey since i never seen him that morning so i went to his room to check on him, I got to his room but he wasn’t there again, maybe he went downstairs i suspect as i walked through the staircase, I got downstair and met him watching TV. After some greetings and little talk just like a mom will do to his son then i left him there, though as a mother i noticed that he was kinda happy about something which isn’t usual of him so i asked him, what happened earlier that morning but then he told me nothing, but since i don’t want to be optimistic about it so i left him alone, I went back to my room, i was in my room when my phone rang, it was my longtime friend who just got back from Dubai where she had been staying for a longtime we talked for a while which i later decided to meet her that very day, I called Anita as i told her that i will be going out, though i would have wanted her to go with me but then i remembered that Amaka is still young, she won’t be able to take care of my son who just got back from hospital yesterday and i have noticed Anita for her good hospitality and caring so i told her i will go with Amaka while she stay at home to take good care of my son, Abbey can be a tough boy but i trust you, please help me to take good care of him i said while she nodded in a way that means yes. I went downstairs to tell Abbey about my outing and warn him to be a good boy which he only smile after telling me he had always be one of them, I laughed as i went upstairs to dress up while Amaka had also went to dress up too. After some minutes I was at the parking slot were the car was parked, though Abbey and Anita was seen too so we bid the two goodbye as i drove out of the compound. Due to the traffic we got on the Road so we got there around 2pm in the afternoon, can’t believe you’re now a fat woman i teased, Mrs Sharon was known for her wonderful stuffs back then in our university days, I remembered that very day that i first met with my husband, she was the one that makes me talk to him that very day and not only that, she also make sure that she stood behind us till we got married, it was a week after the marriage that i got to hear about the news that she had left Lagos to Dubai, though i tried all her contacts then but none was going through that was how i lost her contact, and that’s was the last time i saw her last, it’s over 20years now, we both laughed as we hugged ourselves, how’s uncle Lere (My husband) she asked, i told her his fine, then we talked about each other family, but seriously i can’t believe that Sharon is yet to give birth to any child, really i said, then she explained how she had often be having miscarriages from time to time, seriously i feel for her, I knew how it feels, I knew child is the only pleasure a woman can get from her marriage, she told me how her family husband have been harassing her all because she couldn’t bear him a child, I can’t believe you’re passing through this, this is life, I felt pity for her, so what do you want to do i asked her, she told me she planned to settled down here and maybe she can relax here for sometimes before going back to Dubai and she also told me that her the plan was from her doctor maybe the miscarriages was happening because of the stress she had been passing through.

Anyway that’s fine, thank God you’re here at least we shall know what to do about it. Then i remembered Anita what if Anita should be helping her for sometime before she go back, but no it really going to affect my business, Amaka will be the perfect person here. Since she doesn’t do anything for me, guess i should let her stay here so she won’t feel alone i said.
