Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 9

Gloria’s POV:

” You told him what?” Bella nearly shouted.

” I said I wouldn’t do it,” I repeated myself. ” Is there anything wrong with that?”

” Yes,” Bella drew closer to me on the bed, her eyes set. ” You rejected a wholesome sum of #400,000 that’s what’s wrong.”

” Bella,” I gritted my teeth. ” Please don’t make things di fficult for me. It’s not about the money.”

” Then what’s it about?”

” I just don’t fancy the idea of being a maid.”

” What does it matters so long as you’re being paid to do it?” I pointed out. ” He says he has a plan. What you don’t know cannot hurt you can it?”

” Bella,” I called. ” I’ve never gotten involved with a wife before. In all my dealings with men, I’ve kept out of trouble. I smell trouble with this arrangements. I’m sorry, I can’t do it. No matter how much he offers.”

Bella stared at me for a while. ” But you do like him, don’t you?”

” Who?”

” This Adeola of a man.”

” Ofcourse I liked him. He’s nice, he’s rich, he’s somehow depressed. But I like him.”

” And what about his son? Come on, you like kids.”

” Don’t force me Bella. I’m not crazy to go to a married man’s house to become a maid, definitely not infront of his wife.”

Bella sighed, turning her face away from me. She inspected her nails and she grimaced. ” You’re not doing this for Adeola. You’re doing it for his son.”

Her word sank into me. I wouldn’t be doing it for Adeola, I’d be doing it for his son. I felt bad about his son’s illness and the fact that Adeola was hated by his son made matters more complicated. If he had a plan, maybe it might work since being involved isn’t for his selfish needs but for the sake of his son.

” What about you?” I asked, trying to change the subject. ” Where have you been all day? You didn’t spend the night here last night either so where were you?”

Bella grinned. ” I was with Paul last night.”

” Paul?”

” Yeah, that handsome fella who gave his number and address to me at the bar yesterday.”

Now I remembered. ” Wow, did you go out to see him?”

Bella nodded. ” That’s right, we spent the night together.”

” Well, how was he? Was he good?”

” Paul was good,” Bella sighed contentedly. ” His bedroom skills were good, first class. He’s also very generous. I’m seeing him tonight again.”

This was good for her. Somehow she seemed happy with this new guy. ” Bella, I’ve been thinking recently. About you and Priscilla.”

” You mean that kid?” Bella laughed. ” Think nothing about it. She’s just defending her best friend. If you ask me, I’d say I was at fault.”

” Bella you know that’s not what I meant—”

Bella cut me short. ” No I understand where you are heading. Truth is, I was the one looking for trouble. If I had kept my mouth short and minded my own business, what happened that day could have been avoided.”

” In as much as you were at fault, I still agree on what you said about her bestie. I don’t trust that guy. Sacrificing his school fees without asking for anything in return sounds odd and suspicious.”

” Don’t mind her,” Bella scoffed. ” I won’t blame her anyways. She’s still a kid. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe her bestie is nice and caring.”

” He’s not as caring as you,” i snapped. ” Priscilla’s is a fool and would forever remain a fool. She has no idea what you did behind her back. How you stood up for her against Rollins. If only she knew, she wouldn’t had hit you.”

Bella smiled. ” You know what’s biting me now?”

” What?”

” What could be happening between her and her bestie at this moment as we speak.”

Cynthia’s POV:

Lucy sat beside me as we boarded a taxi. She looked troubled by something. I would’nt blame her. After a long deliverance hours pastor Sam had spent on her, I was sure she would be worn out with fatigue.

” Is this your first time with a pastor?” I asked her.

She looked at me with those big eyes. ” Not exactly but it’s my first time undergoing deliverance. I can’t tell you, but it seems like pastor Sam was forcing me to fall on the ground. I tried to stand my ground cause I don’t want to get my clothes dirty still, he wouldn’t bulge. He keeps trying to force me to fall.”

I wanted to laugh but I held myself. Oh Lucy, she could be such a baby sometimes. coolval stories What she said was true though. She was stubborn, standing her ground and staring eyeballs to eyeballs with pastor Sam.

I remembered how it happened.

Pastor Sam was speaking in tongues and chatting prayers on her.

Lucy just stood where she was, staring oddly at him. Then he rushed at her with an outstretched out and yelled,

” Loooose!!!”

Lucy didn’t move. It was as if the annonting wasn’t working on her yet.

Pastor Sam came again and placed his hands on her head and began spinning her around, praying with a loud voice. ” Every mermaid spirit in this body, I cast and bind. I command you in the name of Jesus, loooose!!!”

He let go off her after spinning her. Lucy staggered to her feet but she didn’t fall. She stood straight and stared at me and Pastor Sam, looking confused and worried like a child.

Pastor Sam was bewildered and he shouted. ” What type of spirit are you?”

” I’m not a spirit sir,” Lucy answered. ” I am Lucy. I thought I told you my name.”

” Kabosh, kabosh,” Pastor Sam yelled. ” You must leave this body. This body is not a body you can mess with, you daughter of Jezebel. This body is the temple of God. Whatever cult you come from I loose you in Jesus name now out of her body.”

Lucy was still confused. She glanced at me. ” He said I should go out of my body. How do I get out of my body?”

I was Soo embarrassed I had to cover my face. If only she knew he was speaking to the evil spirit in her.

” Cynthia,” Pastor Sam shouted.

” Yes, sir?” I nearly jumped out of my skin.

” Call the prayer warriors,” he commanded. ” I sense war. This beautiful girl is possessed. We must free her today. Hurry up now and call them, quick.”

It didn’t take long. In twenty minutes, the office was filled with six members of the church. We began praying like mad dogs with Lucy at the center of it all.

I couldn’t concentrate on my prayers. Lucy kept staring at me with a worried look on her face. She’s soo naive. It was as if I was conspiring against her. To be honest, I regretted bringing her over for prayers.

Pastor Sam was sweating. He removed his coat and rolled up his sleeve. The moment he noticed Lucy staring at me, he yelled.

” So you still have eyes for my future daughter in-law ehh? Today you will die, you water spirit.”

” I will not die,” Lucy snapped at him. ” God forbid.”

” You will die,” Pastor Sam barked back. ” What do you know about God.”

” I will not die.”

” You must die,” Pastor Sam yelled, urging the prayer warriors to sing along with him. ” You must die, you must die today, you must die, you must die today.”

The room became hot with the song.

” You must die, you must die today.”

Lucy kept shouting back. ” I will not die!”

I had to close my eyes. I’ve never been Soo embarrassed.

Pastor Sam grabbed an annonting oil and began spilling it on her.

” Stop it,” she shouted at him. ” You’re messing my clothes.Do you know how much I bought them?”

Pastor Sam didn’t stop. He placed his hands on her and pushed her away.

She stood her ground.

I nearly yelled. ” Just fall to the ground already!”

Lucy was stubborn. She was mad at him for soiling her clothes. One thing I saw in her eyes, she wasn’t going to let him fall her to the ground.

We spent another one hour commencing deliverance on Lucy. I’ve never experienced anything like it.

Pastor Sam tried all the tricks in the book. Still, nothing.

It wasn’t until he called me out and told me to hold his hand that the opportunity came.

” I want you to hold her hands and hold mine. She’s your friend. I will join your faith with hers and then she will be free,” Pastor Sam said. The way he said it, I could sense tiredness in his voice.

I held Lucy’s hands. She stared at me with large eyes as it to say she was sick and tired of what was going on she needs me to save her.

We began praying again and it was it an effort I made to whisper to her ears.

” Just fall to the ground,” I said in a low tone. ” The moment you do, it’d all be over.”

I gave her the tip. She took it seriously and unexpectedly.

Before everyone knew it, she fell to the ground and pretended to pass out.

And that was how the deliverance ended.

” Please don’t take me there again,” Lucy pleaded as the taxi took the next bend towards home. ” I was Soo scared, Pastor Sam scares me.”

” It’s alright,” I said, retuning back to myself. ” I’m just glad you are free.”

” Free from what? Mermaid spirit? I’m not a mermaid.”

I bite my lips. ” That’s not what I meant. I mean you’re free from the spirit.”

” What spirit? Was I possessed before?”

” You know what, forget it,” I said, not sure this was the right time to start educating her on the things of the spirit.

Lucy leaned her head on my shoulder. ” Thank you, Cynthia.”

” For what?” I asked, uncomfortable with the way she laid her head on my shoulder.

” For everything,” Lucy said and closed her eyes. ” You are the best friend ever.”

I didn’t know if I was the best friend ever but still, I felt warm at heart.
