The Wedding Contract

Episode 12

Anthony came down from his car and
went into the house…he went straight to ifaechi’s room but she was not there…he stood thinking…she doesn’t know her way around this house where else could she be..yes…the kitchen..she must be in the kitchen…he went into the kitchen and saw her…

“ifaechi…ifaechi…what is wrong with you..why do you want to ruin the image i built for
myself..couldn’t you go to the big market in town where other celebrities wives go
to..??…huh..??” he yelled throwing the newspaper on the counter close to her so she
could see it but she ignored him…

“you will answer me when i talk to you.” he said pushing her…she swiftly turned to face him pointing the knife she held towards him

“if you touch me again i swear to God i will stab you..” she yelled…

Anthony was shocked…he looked into her eyes and saw fear and anger in them…that
was when the event of that morning came flooding back…he became sober

“i heard shouting and i rushed down..” his father said interrupting him…he saw ifaechi
pointing a knife towards his son…

“ifaechi..what is going on here…please put down the knife..”
ring ring ifaechi’s phone rang…

caller::hello..miss ifaechi

ifaechi::speaking

caller::alright…this is doctor theo…your mom is awake and she is asking after you..

ifaechi::really…i’m coming…i’m
coming…she hung up…

“my mother is awake..” she yelled
excitedly and dropped the knife then ran to her room to dress up….she finished and came out to
enter a cab but saw tony waiting for her…she ignored him and went ahead to stop a cab…tony went to her
“let me take you there ify…remember you can’t be seen entering public transport…”
“our deal is over…i want nothing to do with you..ever..” she yelled “please…don’t do this….remember i’m the
reason your mother survived…”tony
said….that struck a nerve…ifaechi
followed her to the car and they drove off
“ifaechi…i’m sorry..i.. “not another word from you ” ify stopped him they got to the hospital and immediately they
stepped down from the car reporters flocked around them…bombarding them with
questions..

reporters::mrs ifaechi…you were seen in the local market…does it mean you can’t afford the big market..??….Mr Anthony…does it
mean all these you put up is a charade..??…are you really rich..??”
ifaechi felt irritated.. “shut shut shut up all of you..because i
went to the local market doesn’t mean my fiance is poor…i am not from a rich background…i
am a simple person…being rich does not make me a God..i’m still human….get this…he is not
poor…i am a simple person…please excuse
me…” she said and went into the hospital..the reporters wanted to continue asking tony
questions but he stopped them..

“you heard my fiancee…i have nothing more to say to you…go bug someone else..” he said and
followed ify into the hospital….

mr ferdnardo paced around his room…his business was not going well because the order from the public has reduced…mr clifford
was getting their attention and he didn’t like it….he has to eliminate the competition…mr clifford…but how is he going to do it…he couldn’t possibly strike
now…he could easily be caught…he has to plan his strategy…in a way he won’t be
suspected…he sat down rubbing his chin…it has to be after
the wedding…yes!!!…he exclaimed…i’ve got it…watch out clifford…your end is near…i will no longer have a business rival…i will be
be twice as Rich..he laughed
