Episode 9

after the reporters had left…ifaechi and tony
sat back to eat…all the while they ate anthony could not take his eyes off ifaechi…he didn’t
know what it is but something about her was captivating….was it her eyes…that could easily
be used to detect how she feels…or was it her simple yet fiesty nature…

“what is it na..??” ifaechi asked…her voice brought him back
“what did you say..??” he asked “you’ve been staring at me…its starting to make me uncomfortable..” she said
“oh…i didn’t know..” he said…his ego bruised…my stare making you uncomfortable…do you know how many girls would kill for me to even turn their way…why
was i even staring…he thought and hissed loudly…

“ahhhh…what was that for na..” “nothing…i was just thinking…that’s all…”
“hmmmmm…okay ooh”
“that reminds me….you’ll be moving in with me..”‘tony said
“taaaaaaahh…no way…why will i move in with you..?”
“we’re getting married…after this public appearance we made eyes will be on you…you can’t expect me to allow them see you coming from one small hospital all the time….it’ll be bad for my reputation..”

“jeez!!..i didn’t sign up for this ooh..what about mama…who will take care of her..?” ifaechi asked
“that is not a problem…as we speak she is being transferred to a better hospital…she will be well taken care of…” “hmmmmm…but you won’t stoo me from seeing her..??”
“you’re free..(thinking)…there is another problem..” he said
“ooooohhhh…what again na…you don’t like my face and you want to remove it..??”
“(laughing)….mba ooh…i like your face…you’re very beautiful..” he blurted out
before realising what he said…he choked on his food..why did he say that..??
“(smiling)…thank you.”
“don’t let it get to your head…i was only trying to raise your self esteem and….well..that was not what i mean…what i wanted to say
was that you can’t be seen using a cab anymore….i should get you a car…but that would be after the marriage..for now i’ll be the
one driving you to see her” he said expecting her to jump and scream but her response shocked him…

“thank you..will that be all..?”she asked…..he was surprised…i am going to get her a car…something she hadn’t dreamt of having in the next ten years and here she is giving
me attitude…who does she think she is…he thought
“yes…that will be all…for now…what you should do now is go back to the hospital your mom was and get your things…i’ll drive you there but i’ll send the company car to pick you up and take you to the house…i have
things to do…especially plan an impromptu wedding..”

he said….they stood up..he paid for the food and drove her to the hospital then left…immediately she stepped into the hospital all the staffs and people around smiled and greeted her..she was surprised..why were they
friendly…she went into the room where she kept her stuff…the t.v was on and the interview they just had was airing…it was then she understood why she received such a
warm reception earlier ring ring
her phone rang….who could it
be…anthony just bought her the phone…she picked it…

“hello…who is this..??” she asked “its anthony…are you done packing..the driver is on his way..”

“yes…i..hello..hel…”

the phone was dead…he just hung up on me…just like that..??…what does he think of
himself…arrogant somebody…mtch
eew…she hissed and went out…this time returning the
greetings from the staffs…she met the doctor on her way…

“hi madam…good evening ma” he
greated bowing slightly
“(laughing)….ehhwwwooooooo….come and see ooh…cheeiii…life…ooh…afternoon” she replied and walked out leaving no room for the
doctor to say another word…she met the driver already waiting outside…he collected her bags and opened the door for her…she
smiled to herself
“i could get use to this” she thought soon they arrived at the house…she collected her bags from the driver and went
in….she met tony’s father watching t.v
“good evening sir..” she greeted
“evening my dear…how are you..?” “i’m fine sir…eerrmm…sir…where is my
room sir..” she asked quite nervous…mr clifford noticed it
“calm down dear…i don’t bite…and please drop the sir..call me father…follow me..” he replied…he liked her from the day he saw her…he was actually looking forward to being a father in law
“ok sir…i mean father..” she said and followed him…

“this is your room…when you’re done changing you come down so i can order something for us to eat..” he said
“wait..order..??…you don’t cook..??” “no…not since my wife passed away few years ago..”

“oh…i’m sorry about that…well…the ordering in going to end…i’ll cook…no more ordering…i saw a market not too far away…just go back to your t.v…” she said smiling
