Episode 7

Mama rushed to the door, after hearing my scream, and when she saw the sight she let out a louder scream.

It took a moment for the both of us to regain composure, and by then Emmanuel was barely managing to keep his eyes open.

“Let’s rush him to the hospital Mama,” I said in a panicked state. Mama didn’t respond, but rushed inside. Seconds later, I heard the sound of her saving box being broken to pieces. Mama had never trusted banks, so she always saved up her money by herself in the comfort of her home.

“Gbo, Nne didn’t you hear me? Help me carry Emmanuel quickly.”

“It wasn’t Chima’s handwork Mama,” I whispered quietly.

“Who was it then? Stop saying nonsense and help me take this man to the hospital before he dies here,” Mama responded angrily

“We can’t take him to the hospital, or he’ll die there. He asked me himself that he shouldn’t be taken to the hospital for his life’s sake.”

Mama now stopped to listen to me.

“Why is that?”

“Allison Ononye is after him. The Governor of our state, Governor Allison Ononye wants Emmanuel d*ad….
