Episode 2

My next door neighbour, Mr. Ezekiel just returned from the police station where Sewe was taken. He is particularly interested in the case because he knows the torture she has undergone in the hands of her aunt.

He may not be a lawyer but heā€™s got connections and can pull strings.

I asked him how it went and he said she will most likely be penalized under juvenile laws.

ā€œThe surprising thing about it all is this,ā€ he added.

ā€œShe has denied all the allegations leveled against her. I was reliably informed that she said she left the baby and went to the rest room when suddenly, she heard her aunt scream and on running outside, she saw her holding Jnr and shouting, asking what she had done to her sonā€

ā€œWait a minute, Iā€™m confused. So if she said she didnā€™t do it, who did? According to her aunt, she left the baby with Sewe and went to the supermarket. On her return, she found the boy struggling and gasping in the sitting room, with no one in sightā€ I reiterated the story that made rounds two days ago.

In my honest opinion, I actually donā€™t see that little girl capable of commiting such a henious crime but I canā€™t stake my neck on it though.

The baby has been preserved while the police are still investigating. An autopsy has to be carried out even though the smell of kerosene oozed from his mouth when he was found.

A couple of police men visited Becky and Jason today. I have no idea what they came for and I definitely cannot ask since Becky isnā€™t my friend.

Iā€™m still watching with crossed fingers. A twist is surfacing but we will see to the end of it.

WHAT GOES AROUND,COMES AROUND

BY Msoo Aondoakaa

I went to bed wondering how Sewe is doing and pondering over any reason life can choose to be this cruel to a child. Woke up with her still on my mind.

My neighbours who are also keeping tabs on the he recent occurrence are here with me and weā€™re keeping each other abreast of any development.

The knowledge that Sewe went to mallamā€™s kiosk down the road to purchase that kerosene has left me confused.

What did she get it for?

Becky and Jason donā€™t use a kerosene stove in their house, neither do they use it for anything else.

Could it be that the girl isnā€™t innocent after all?
