With The Devil

Episode 14

She readjusted herself with her pillow and lay straight on the bed facing me,whilst also imploring me to do same; I obliged her.
“So?” I started as I faced her.

She didn’t say anything but kept looking at me,no smiles.

“You know,there was a time I could have sworn that I heard you tell me ‘help me’ in one of my ‘you’ moments?” I asked.
“Hmmmm.You really can remember things.” She replied.

” So,why was that?” I asked.
“Thats because I did and do need your help” she replied.

“That’s weird!” I said out loud even though it was to myself I made that remark to.
“You need not bother again about it no more!” She retorted.

“Oh! You managed to get the help somewhere else?” I asked.
” No.I got it from you!” She replied.
“Here we go again!” I said out loud.
“You didn’t allow me to finish.” She replied me and held me by lefthand.
“Okay…continue!” I replied her.
“Observe this place and tell me what you notice” she said.

I looked around and tried looking to see if I will get a cue as to where she is heading with the task she gave me.

“Well,owing to the fact that you have asked me to remove “such thoughts” from my mind,I find it interesting that you are intimately holding my hand!” I replied her.
She smiled.

At that moment,their light came back again. I was expecting her to say we should continue the series,but instead,I saw she would rather continue the conversation we were having.
“Well,isn’t it a good thing?” She asked me.
“I guess” I just replied,and continued:
” so how exactly did I help you?”
“In time you will understand it better” she replied.

“If you say so.” I replied.
“So what exactly are you doing here?” I summed up courage and managed to ask her.
She smiled.

“Don’t worry,with time you will know I promise”. She said.

“Okay I know i have said this and asked this before,but why did we have to meet the way we did? Don’t tell me I attracted you to myself!” I found myself asking.
” That’s deep!” She retorted immediately,looking at me.I gave her that look you give someone when you expect them to continue talking or answer a question.

” You will know in time!” She replied finally.
“If I didn’t know better,I would say you are avoiding answering them!” I replied.
“That might be true.” She said.
“Why?” I asked.

“No need rushing it.You will know all this things with time.Trust me!” She said.
“Okay o.If you say so!” I said.
“Are you feeling bad?” She inquired.
“Actually,am supposed to feel bad,but to what end?” I asked.

She smiled and then took my hand that she was holding and placed on her right br*ast.
“What are you doing?” I inadvertently asked.

“What does it look like?” She replied me.
“I know you are not expecting an answer to that.” I said.

“Well,if you have,am willing and ready to listen” she replied.

That moment,I could hear a voice in my mind echo:
“don’t do this,let it go!”…

The mind is such a very powerful tool,and most of the time,we don’t even realise it.
Ever been in a situation where you are in serious breaking point of taking an important decision about a particular thing,and you have like a zillion thoughts on your mind,with each of them feasible enough,you don’t know which one to chose?

Well,I wouldn’t say that was my state of mind,but almost as close as my inner state of mind was at that moment is the above scenario I painted.

I may have let down my guard as to the possibility of Pretty harming me,but one thing I never do is to take for granted that in everything, I have a choice; and that whatever choice that I make,I always take responsibility for it.For that reason,I always find it funny when some people always blame the devil for their failings and evil deeds which they committed of their own freewill.
“I know exactly what your intention is” I replied her.

“And I can see you are afraid!” She replied me.

“I meant it that I am really not afraid of you.” I told her.
“So why the double mind?” She asked.
“Well,I can be patient when I want to!” I said,and then I continued:
” But….” I stopped.

“Keeping me in suspense now?” She queried.

” I have a better idea!” I concluded.
“Which is?” She quizzed.
” I want you to come to my dream tonight as you use to do before.” I asserted.
She laughed,and that her permanent smile returned to her face.
“So you prefer a dream to the real thing here now?” She asked.
“I want us to start it from there.Isn’t how we started?” I said.

She kept smiling while looking at me,and then chipped in:
“All the time that I invaded your dreams,I tried to allow you to control your dream world,but you simply just can’t.It won’t be fair to me knowing I will be manipulating everything that will happen there!” She simply educated me.

“Its different now.I know you will be coming, and am the one that invited you.I have read a lot of works by Freud and I know a bit about how the subconscious works” I retorted.
She just shakes her head,came on top of me and with a sign of “please do not resist this’ she kissed me passionately and then came off of me.

I was really kinda surprised with her spur of the moment attitudinal exhibition.
” What’s that for?” I asked.
” Nothing!” She replied.
“This is funny!” I simple quipped in.
“Not to me!” She simply said.
We refocused our attention to the series we were previously watching, and after a while,I told her that I was going.She expressly told me that she enjoys my company and told me to expect her in the night.
