Episode 29

Tiara used her!. Fiona sat still,thinking how she managed to fall for all of Tiara’s plans,how Tiara must think she was foolish. Tiara was going to pay for all the harm.

Tiara’s target now is Robert Obiaku. While Tiara seeks revenge on innocent people, she was going to stop it- even if it meant her putting her life on the line,it didn’t matter. What matters was that she was going to stop Tiara.

“I’m so sorry about your dad,Joshua. Believe me I had no part in it”,Fiona spoke breaking the silence
“But Tiara is your sister, isn’t she”
“Yeah but…..”
“And your father asked for revenge from the both of you,is that correct?”
“Correct but……”
“How can I be sure that you aren’t doing exactly that”
“Exactly what?”
“The revenge”
Fiona stood transfixed for some seconds.
“Listen,Joshua, I have had enough. I am both sick and tired of you thinking I had something to do with your father’s condition. I am sick of you wearing that face of disappointment whenever you look at me. I am tired of you doubting my love for you every damn minute while all I have done is give you my love and support. I have abandoned my father’s wishes and my family for you. I am fighting with Tiara for you. I have done everything for you and all you do is question my love and tell you what,it all stops right now because I am demanding the respect that I deserve, so right now,I am leaving you this minute. Find me when you’re ready to give me that respect and if you’re not,call off that dammed wedding because I can’t spend a whole day with the man you’ve chosen to become”

She ended her speech, grabbed her handbag and made her way out of the hospital and probably, out of Joshua’s life.

“Robert told me to kill you”,Pedro told Tiara
“I saw that coming”
“It’s a good thing you haven’t talked about killing again”
“I don’t but Liza does”
“Is that right?”
“Yeah”
“What do you think?”,Pedro asked as the gate was opened
“I honestly don’t know what you think. I think she experienced something when she lived on the street”
“Maybe you should talk to her about it”
“I intend to do so”
“Good”
They both stepped down from the vehicle and were walking into the sitting room when Pedro stopped, checked his pockets “I think I forgot my phone in the car”
“Okay, I’ll just wait for you in the sitting room”
“I won’t take long”,he said and headed to where he parked the car.

Tiara walked on. Almost opening the door to the sitting room,she heard “Kill him. I want no mistakes whatsoever”
She recognized the voice, it was Liza’s,but the question was;Who was Liza ordering to get killed?

Even as she asked herself that question, many questions ran through her mind.
Had she wasted enough time?. Had she done the wrong thing by letting Liza take part in the revenge?. What had happened to her on the street?. Was Liza always like this but she hadn’t noticed?
The latter was a question bore out of confusion

Pedro had gotten his phone from the car and didn’t take long as he had promised but was beyond shocked to see Tiara at the door. At first,he had thought she was waiting for him and proceeded to the door. Standing at her back,he had called her twice but had gotten not a single reply. He went ahead and stood at her front but she hadn’t noticed his presence.
He wouldn’t dare tell a lie to himself, he was scared. What the hell was wrong with her? Why was she standing motionless?
He saw her breathing, so there was no need to panick
He shook her
“What’s wrong? You’ve been here for about seven minutes”,Pedro said trying to bring her attention
“Oh”
“I just heard…..”
“Tia?”,Liza called from the sitting room, interrupting.

“Steve, what is the meaning of what you said before?”,Robert said immediately he ended a long conference call that Steve had to sit in and listen to, for which he got tired within the first two minutes
“Sir,Pedro don’t kill people”
“People change. I suggest you do the same”
“If Pedro was to have change, it won’t include to kill. Trust me”
“Trust you? Did you say I should trust you?. I trusted Toby and Anthony with my shares and they sold it out!”
“It was their shares, Sir,not yours”
Robert shot him a look that could kill but Steve continued nonetheless “They bought the shares with their money which makes it their property”
“How dare you talk to me that way!?”
“Sir,I am only trying to make you see light. I am trying to help you and all you’re doing is venting your anger on me”
“Trying to help me,how?
“When you asked Pedro to assassinate that girl for you,I thought I already knew his answer but I was shocked when he agreed and now I think something is going on and I know the best way to find out”
“How?”
Steve sat back and began saying the plans he had in mind.

Pedro’s phone rang as Liza opened the door,he went ahead to answer the call.
“Liza,we need to talk”,Tiara began
“Tia,tell me something isn’t wrong”,Liza said,trying her best no to look worried
“Not at all. We have to talk about you”
“What about me?”
Now she was worried
“Let’s talk inside

Liza went ahead of Tiara. Tiara was about entering the sitting room when Pedro called “Tiara,could you come here for a second?”
“Yeah”,she turned to Liza “I’ll meet you inside”
She walked to where Pedro had stood answering the call
“Problem?”,she asked
“Yes. Robert wants you alive, not dead and he wants me to bring you a day before the vote”
Tiara opened her mouth but no words came out.
