Deadly Desire

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 18

Nicole opened her hand bag to check whether all she needed was there. The complimentary card was there but her ATM card was missing. She panicked then brightened up instantly. She remembered she kept it in her wardrobe.

Nicole retrieved it from her wardrobe then threw it in her bag. She went downstairs for breakfast. The maid had already set the table. She sat to a breakfast of quaker oat. She looked at her wristwatch then asked the maid to bring the handbag on the bed to her.

In a hurry, Nicole left the house. She refused Eghosa to drive the car. By the time she got to her destination it was almost noon. She parked her car and stood before a gigantic structure. Because she too lived in such a similar structure, she was not afraid to knock on the gate. She knocked heavily on the gate until a security man opened it.

“What do you want?” He asked without pleasantries.

“Dr Solution” she said. I want to see him.

“Do you have an appointment with him?”

“Not really, but I was given this address to locate him”

“Alright! Wait here”

The security man went inside and returned.

“Follow me”

Nicole followed him and observed how neat the compound was. She saw two women and a man sitting down.

“Sit here for your turn”

Nicole sat down and noticed that the people around her were looking strange. The men wore a black trouser and red shirt, the women black skirt and red tops.

“Maybe it’s coincidence” She reasoned.

She was wearing a blue maternity gown. She kept glancing at the entrance door of the the office. She has seen people go in and out of the office.

Nicole entered when it was her turn. The room was painted with white, black and red. The chair she was asked to sit was white. The man standing before her was Pastor Smart. Around his waist was red wrapper. Nicole was shock but she didn’t ask any question.

He told her to wash her hands in a calabash before taking her seat. She did as instructed. He gave her a white handkerchief to dry her hands.

“Do you have any of his picture?”

“Yes, bit on my phone”

“Show me”

Nicole brought her phone out and showed him Nosa’s picture. Pastor Smart collected the phone and started making incantations. When he was through, he handed the phone to her.

“Delete that particular picture from your phone”

Nicole did.

“I have settled it, he is all yours”

“Are you sure?”

He brought out a piece of paper and wrote his account number.

“Transfer five hundred thousand naira into my account when you have confirmed with your eyes” he said giving the piece of paper to her.

The surprised Nicole thanked him profusely and rushed out of the compound.

Nicole drove into the compound, but was surprised when the maid rushed out to meet her. She carried Nicole’s handbag and the look of confusion betrayed her.

“Why are you frowning” Nicole asked.

“It’s Oga. Oga Nosa”

“Was he here?”

“He came and was demanding to see you. I told him you were not home, but he pushed me out of the way and ran to your room. He was shouting your naming. When you did not come out he came downstairs, sat on the chair and started crying”

“Crying!”

“Yes madam, crying like a baby”

Nicole burst into hilarious laughter.

“He really missed you ma”

“But he is the one that left me. Did I send him away? No!, Now he is crying to see me”

The maid carried her bag inside while Nicole still sat on the driver’s seat. She was so excited.

“It is working oo. Nosa is now mine to control” She laughed.

She rested her head on the head rest and closed her eyes. With eyes closed, she imagined how happy Nosa will be when he eventually sets his eyes on her.

When she opened her eyes, she saw Eghosa staring angrily at her.

“What is it? Ooh, you are angry that I have been going out myself without engaging your service. Don’t worry, I needed to drive myself. From tomorrow you will resume your duties” She told him smiling.

“I know what you have done Boss. God is displeased with you. You need to repent . Turn a new leaf. The bible says that the wages of sin is death. Give your life to Jesus, surrender now. Don’t play with fire for it will engulf you”

So angry was Nicole, that she came out of the car and slapped Eghosa twice.

“You will not stand in my way. You are relieved of your duty right now. You are not relevant to me neither will you be. It is you and your family fire will engulf. God will punish you. Leave this minute. Get out!” She screamed.

Eghosa looked at her, them shook his head sadly.

“Alright Boss! I will leave”

“Get out. Mark my words, the day I will see you on the road, I will hit you with my car. Nonsense!”

She pushed him aside and then walked angrily towards the house. Eghosa watched her as she entered the house.

“Jesus, let your mercy prevail in the life of this one. Don’t let her perish. Cause your deliverance to take place in her life” He prayed then walked out of the compound.

Nicole entered her room and sat on the bed. She was still angry.

“He is always on my nerves. No wonder mother said I should fire him when he wants to give me trouble. Let him go with his trouble” She said.

She removed her shoes then lay on the bed and smiled.

“I can’t believe Nosa came looking for me”

“Pastor Smart is good at what he does”

Nicole opened her bag and brought out the piece of paper given to her by the pastor. She took her phone and and transferred the sum of 500k to him. There she sent a message to him that the money has been transferred.

She brought out a small travelling box and packed few things in it.

“Nosa, I will not wait for you to come here again. I am coming to meet you. I am coming to claim right over you” She smiled and continued throwing items into the box

Then she brought out a beautiful gown she recently bought. It was a pink gown. She quickly changed into it. She stood before a mirror and began to smile.

“Even in my pregnancy, I look yummy” She whispered. Nicole went downstairs and ate sumptuously for she was famished. She had not eaten like that in days. Suddenly everything became bright and beautiful. She even requested for more. When she left the table, she went outside and ordered the maid to get the things on the bed. She instructed the maid and security man not to allow anyone into the compound for she was going out for a few days.

Nicole drove less than 30 minutes before she got to Nosa’s house. She drove into the compound and waited in the car. Then she saw the door opened. It was Itohan and her son that first came out, followed by Nosa. She came out carrying her handbag. She saw Nosa’s face was filled with joy. He rushed to her and kissed her deeply. He touched her bulging stomach and kissed it too.

“I love you Nicole. Come in! Don’t stand here. Let’s go in and talk about old times”

Nicole brought out her travelling bag which she handed over to Nosa. They got to the door but Itohan and her son stood in their way. They refused to move.

” Itohan leave the door please. Can’t you see that Nicole is tired. She needs to rest and eat”

Itohan looked at him then to Nicole

“You wan make this rejected meat enter this house, come do wetin?”

Nicole was calm all the while. She pretended as if she was not there, she was waiting for Nosa to handle the problem.

“Nicole no fit enter this house. God forbid. This woman no fit enter this house oo. Choose either me or her” She was already tapping her feet on the floor

“Alright darling, choose between us” Nicole said rolling her eyes.

“It’s you I choose. Who else?” He kissed Nicole deeply again.

“Hmmm! Your lips tastes like berry” He said.

Nicole laughed

” Push this thing out of the way let’s go catch some fun”

“Yes ma!” Nosa said and started dragging Itohan but Efosa stood in the way.

“Don’t drag my mum like that” He shouted.

Nosa hit his son and he started bleeding from the mouth. Itohan held Nosa and started crying.

“You be foolish man Nosa. Because of this vomit, you com blow Efosa like that. God go punish you”

“I will do anything for you Nicole” He told her.

Nicole pushed her way inside and went straight to the masters bedroom. She was even surprised that Nosa would do anything for her.

“Pastor Smart, you are indeed powerful” She whispered.

Not long, Nosa entered and locked the room door. While they were having sexual escapade in the room, Efosa was helping Itohan to settle down in his room.

For Itohan, it was a night of sadness. How could Nosa who said he had ended his affair with Nicole suddenly go into her arms?
