The kingdom of Nishkapur is a nice and wonderful Kingdom known for it’s hospitality… The kingdom is situated just hundreds of miles away from the sea.

Since it’s closer than any living settlement, Merchants settle down and rest before going on their way… They even sell some of their goods while they’re at it…

Unlike Marida, Nishkapur isn’t rich and powerful, but they’re blessed with medicinal herbs which the people make use of it and make medicines to cure diseases… In fact, The kingdom’s source of income was generated through that and many people come into the kingdom to be healed or cured.

Unlike Marida, The people of this Kingdom have no grievances what so ever, Their reputation keeps them safe from any colonization… The sultan of this Kingdom is Ali ibn jabar the second, He’s a benevolent king and is loved by his subjects.. But despite that, he rules his kingdom with iron hard, making sure the rules of the kingdom is obeyed and anyone who breaks them is punished without hesitation, no matter who the person is.

Here in Nishkapur…. Money isn’t valued that much.. Unlike Marida where money is power… The only thing that the kingdom holds in regard is its Sacred laws.. Thanks to these laws, it keeps the people in check and also preserve their way of life and their customs..

Unlike Marida, Things are a lot different here in Nishkapur… While women are treated as properties in Marida, women here aren’t given any right to do anything they want… In fact when they’re in their early ages, they’re aren’t allowed to go out, they only stay in their houses and are trained and brought up to be housewives and they can’t choose who they love.. Whoever their parents bring for them, that’s who they’ll marry and she must do it… But that’s not always the case because that only happens to those who aren’t rich… The daughters of the rich are also restricted from going out in their early but when they come of age .. They’re allowed to go out and see the world and they choose who they want to marry.

Here in the palace of Sultan Ali… A lovely and beautiful lady sits on the balcony and stares into the horizon…

Her name is Jasmine, the only daughter to Sultan Ali, the second… She’s witty, bold, curious and beautiful… Unlike most ladies in Nishkapur who do as they’re told.. She hates being told what to do and hopes to go outside the kingdom to explore the strange lands beyond…

Seeing the fire in his daughters eyes, Sultan Ali has made sure, she’s secured indoors and isn’t allowed to step outside the palace but that was no longer possible because his daughter has now grown up to be a fine young stunning woman.

Seeing that today’s her 20th birthday, She smiles as she breathes in the fresh air around her… Finally she was going to out of these palace walls and explore the world around her… She couldn’t wait.

As she was busy enjoying the view, Her moment for serenity had interrupted by her handmaiden…

Slave Princess… Your father wishes to see you!

Jasmine Sure… Tell me, I’ll be on my way.

Slave Yes princess.

.

After that, the handmaiden leaves promptly leaving the princess alone… Sooner later, the princess exhales and goes to see her father.

A bit later, Jasmine arrives at her father’s place in the throne chamber…. Here is Sultan Ali on his sitting down comfortably, His servants circle him around tending to his needs, one massages his feet, one feeds him exotic fruits while the other fans him… Immediately he sees his daughter approaching him, he dismisses the servants so he could speak with his daughter alone.

Jasmine Greetings father…

Ali Greetings to you too, my daughter… Today is your birthday… Isn’t it.. Happy birthday.

Jasmine Thank you father…

.

Ali You’re welcome my daughter.. Come with me… I have something to show you.

Jasmine quietly follows her father out of the chamber to see what he wants to show her.. Soon, they enter another chamber.. Jasmine gasps as she sees the place filled with a lot of expensive stuffs, She goes around the room looking at them in wonder.. She grabs some of the things and glares at them with keen interest.

Jasmine Father…I’m grateful but… This is… too much..

Ali Don’t worry, my child.. You’ll get accustomed to them soon enough..

Jasmine Thank you father. They’re wonderful.

Ali I know you’d like them.. All of these were gotten from the best merchandize… If there’s anything you want… Just name it!

Jasmine Actually father… There’s something that I really want.

Ali Okay… Tell me what it is and you shall have it! That I promise you.

Jasmine (excited) Okay…. Now that I’m old enough now… I would like to take a tour around Nishkapur… Alone..

The Sultan is shocked by his daughter’s request… He immediately rejects her offer .

Ali This is ridiculous…. No way… I won’t allow that…. Go out there alone? What are you thinking?

Jasmine Father but you promised…… And you know the custom…… And what would your subjects think if their king isn’t following the custom?

.

Sultan Ali felt stung by his daughter’s words… He couldn’t go back on his promise now and it would be cause an uproar if people found out he couldn’t follow the one custom that he had ordered them to follow… So being trapped in a corner with no options, he decided to let his daughter tour around Nishkapur.

Ali Alright… I will grant you your request… But you must be accompanied with the Royal guards..

Jasmine What? Why?

Ali You’re a princess and it is for your own protection.

.

Jasmine But I want to go alone.

.

Ali My decision is final either stay or go… You choose!

Sultan Ali leaves Jasmine alone in the room and walks out in a jiffy, Jasmine mutters under her breath regretting why she is a princess… Immediately her father leaves, she follows him and catches up with him.

Jasmine All right father.. I will go with the guards.

.

Ali Good… When you’re back.. I’ll show you to some young suitors who’ll be interested in your hand in marriage.

Jasmine Marriage? But… Can’t that wait? There’s a lot of things I want to do..

Ali Young lady, I don’t have time for your childish nonsense… You’re a grown woman start acting like one… Oh if only your mother was here… You look like her but you are nothing like her..

Jasmine I’m not refusing to marry but I need time.. Besides, I know nothing about these men… What makes you sure they’ll even like me?

Ali Of course they will… You’re a princess..

Jasmine So just because I’m a princess, that’s why they’ll like me? I don’t want that.. I want someone to love me for what I am not who I am.

Ali That doesn’t matter.. Just go out and have some fun.. Then.. Get ready to meet your suitors.

Sultan Ali leaves his daughter and walks away… Jasmine fumes in annoyance hearing about her father’s revelation… Seeing that she wasn’t getting things her own way.. She begins to think of a way to enjoy her touring alone and postpone the meeting of the suitors.
