Episode 3
Ava fainted!
the doctors and nurses where there to help her, she was revived about 25mins later, Nkem Already cried out her eyes, the day that was supposed to be a happy day was turned to bitterness
madam whatever it is please I do not want u to stress yourself again , do u want to die and leave this innocent child in this wicke’d world? I am a doctor and I’ve tried my best, I am not God, you need to help yourself by staying calm, your husband will be fine, don’t think about him now, think about your life and this little child, I have many patients to attend to……the doctor said as he left her bed,. Ava couldn’t utter a word,
the doctor left and Nkem came to the bed to talk to her so that she can stay back,
then she whispered to Nkem,
My husband is dead……
what? is a lie, he was kidnapped, I just want u to get better so that I will run around let’s see if we can raise any amount, Nkem assured her,
I said my husband is death, the man told me, I am sure of what I’m saying, Ava Said,
just then there was a knock at the door and Kunle came in with 2 police men,
Ava stood up immediately, Kunle where is my husband? where is Williams? please don’t tell me you don’t know, She pleaded,
Kunle wanted to speak but one of the police man interrupted him,
Kunle is she his widow? he asked,
Kunle nodded
madam no need for long story, Your husband is dead and in the morgue, we were contacted but he was dead before we get to the scene, his phone was taken away but his body and car is with us, you can follow us now if u wish, the police man said,
Ava stood up and held Kunle’s clothes, Kunle please tell me it is a lie, tell me it is a lie, just tell me it is lie, I will believe u, I am finished, she cried,
tears rolled down from Kunle’s eyes as Ava dragged his shirt, this is the reason he did not pick her calls since yesterday, he did not know how he is going to explain this to Ava, how is he going to explain to Ava that her husband died on his way to the hospital to see her and his new born baby? Williams told everyone in the office that his wife just put to bed and everyone was happy, he left the office immediately and within 30mins news came that that he ran into another car and died, obviously Williams was overwhelmed with happiness!
he tried to calm Ava down but she was screaming, the everyone in the hospital heard her voice,
Madam we are leaving, when u are ready u can come and carry your husband corpses, the police men said and left,
it was a very heartbreaking period, how Ava survived in the hospital and came back alive with her baby is a story on it own, she couldn’t believe everything was happening, she felt it was a dream or something, she was still on denial stage until the day of his burial, she almost ran mad, and she went back the memory lane, she remembered how she started with Williams, she remembered how the planned spending their life together,and all the promises made to her how they promised each other to remain together till eternity,
now she is a young widow with a son to take care of, she looked at the future and it was filled with bitterness and hopelessness, the only man that ever understood get is gone, sh gazed at his casket and imagined if she can ever erase this experience from her head!
The burial was done and dusted, she mourned Williams for the period of time it was required of her according to tradition, after several months decided to move on with her life even though it is painful, she made a decision to use her son and comfort herself, she was tired of late night cries, weeping daily and soaking her pillows with tears since Williams passed, her son was already 8months old, she named him Andre according to his daddy’s wish, but it felt like it happened yesterday, now she has decided to take solace in her son and accept her fate,
Then Andre fell sick, she took him to the hospital when it became serious, lo and behold, Andre died in her arms right on the hospital bed……… yes he died………
