Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 12

I can’t believe that he is gone,’ said one of the students as they sat in their class.

Nyasha walked inside and went to sit down.

‘Nyasha, did you hear what happened?’ asked one of her class mate.

‘What happened?’

‘Mr Moyo was found dead in his apartment.’

‘Oh my God!’ she exclaimed hands on her mouth, ‘but how? What happened to him? I mean who attacked him? Was it a robbery or what?’ asked Nyasha pretending to be confused.

‘They don’t know who did it but some are saying that it could have been a robbery.’

‘Shame poor thing. He was a good lecturer and we are going to miss him,’ said Nyasha with a pretense of being hurt by the sad news.

She smiled feeling very much proud of what she had done. She remembered asking him to ask for forgiveness but he had refused. The look on his face when she had turned her eyes red, the man was scared and tried to plead with Nyasha to let him go but he didn’t badge. She was determined to see him suffer. Nyasha laughed to everyone’s surprise.

‘What’s funny?’

It was a coincidence that one of them had said something sad about Mr Moyo and had thought Nyasha had laughed because of that. Well that wasn’t the case, she had laughed out loud with what was in her mind.

‘Excuse me!’

‘You think this is funny. You think his death is funny.’

‘Right now I would think you were dating him,’ Nyasha said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

The lady got pissed off, or maybe Nyasha was right after all. She slapped Nyasha hard on the cheek.

‘Eva!’ called out her friend.

‘She thinks it’s funny that Mr Moyo is dead.’

‘Eva, she never said that. I am so sorry Nyasha,’ she apologized on behalf of her friend.

‘It’s okay,’ calmly responded Nyasha.

‘Why are you apologizing to her?’

‘Eva, please. You are just over reacting.’

‘What’s going on here? What’s with the noise?’ asked the principal.

‘Nothing,’ they all quickly responded.

The Principal looked at Nyasha who was just about to report her to him.

‘Nyasha,’ he called out her name.

They turned to look at her.

‘It’s nothing,’ she said.

She knew that she was going to deal with her one way or the other, Eva was never going to get away with that slap she had placed on Nyasha’s cheek. She was definitely the next one in her list. Killing people who pissed her off had become her habit and it fascinated her, I mean it made her feel very powerful about being a killer in the block. She felt very much stronger than before since her other personality had completely taken control over her innocent body. At this time, no one was going to be able to control her, not even Diablo if he were to meet her again. On the other hand he will be so much thrilled to know that she had turned, he couldn’t wait any longer for that moment and was starting to get impatient.

‘Alright keep your voices down as we all mourn Mr Moyo. We shall be heading to his funeral very soon,’ he said and walked out of the class.

‘B—h,’ she clicked her tongue while walking outside too.

Nyasha just shook her head and sat back on the chair. She grabbed her phone and they were several missed calls from Thelma. She had been ignoring her lately and on the other hand, Thelma was extremely worried about her. She had heard of what happened to the lecturer at her school and she was 100% sure that Nyasha had something to do with his death. She was about to dial her number again when she heard a sudden knock at the door. She strode over to the door and opened it.

There stood a man of God at her doorstep, whatever he was doing at her house holding his bible. He felt it, he felt the bad smell coming out from the house but more so he felt a dark shadow surrounding the house. He knew that this was much stronger for him; after all he was there to invite Thelma to a crusade.

‘Hello,’ Thelma greeted when the man was busy looking around.

He wanted to say something to her but instead handed her the posts.

‘You are cordially invited to that crusade dear sister,’ he said referring to the posts she had given her.

Thelma didn’t hesitantly take it from his hands. She had wanted this since he had thought about quitting the league but she was still yet not sure if at all there was someone out there who was able to fight Diablo.

‘Thank you,’ she thanked with a hint of honesty in her voice.

Just maybe this was a break through; just maybe she was going to free Nyasha and herself. The man of God didn’t want to wait long; he had many houses to attend to. As he was walking to the gate, Diablo had just parked his car outside and had got out of it. They opened the gate at the same time, Diablo walking inside and the man of God getting out. As they passed each other without having said a word, the man of God stopped in his tracks for a minute. For a minute he just stood there frozen and felt a cold shiver all over his body. Diablo was already inside and thought maybe he was just a garden boy, he hadn’t seen the bible he held in his hand.

‘I have never felt of something like that before,’ the man of God said to himself and looked back at the closed black gate.

He turned and his eyes landed on Linda who was sitting in the car busy with her phone. When their eyes met, his heart skipped a beat. There was something about Linda too, he thought to himself.

‘What is he looking at?’ asked Linda to no one in particular.

She waved her hand at him but he kept his hands to himself and continued with his walk, Linda just laughed in the car.

‘He is crazy,’ she said and continued going through her phone.

Diablo sat on the sofa just after Thelma had opened the door for him. She wasn’t expecting his visit but again this was Diablo, her so called master. He just came over at their house without no invitation, Thelma always referred to it as trespassing, funny of her.

‘I didn’t know that you were coming,’ she said sitting opposite him.

Diablo just smiled at her, the guts the lady had. Thelma was the only person who spoke freely around him and that scared him a little. She was a hardcore and needed one to be very extremely careful around her. Thelma just stood for what she believed in, she had already hide the posts in her jean pocket before Diablo could see it.

‘I came to see Nyasha,’ he said to her.

‘I see.’

‘That’s not what I am here for.’

Thelma was now curious as she sat her legs crossed and paid attention to him.

‘My sister has to move in with you.’

‘You mean Linda?’

‘Farai, yes,’ he corrected her with what seemed like a sarcasm.

‘You have got plenty of houses, I don’t get it why you want me to babysit her as if babysitting Nyasha is not enough,’ she thought about her.

Nyasha had suddenly become stubborn and she wasn’t listening to Thelma anymore. Thelma almost gave up on her but she had promised Aretha that she was going to protect her no matter what.

‘Is she giving you trouble?’ asked Diablo.

He knew that she was going to be a hard person to take care of.

‘You can let me go with her while you take care of Farai.’

That will be a good idea but then if she was to let her go with him then there is no possible way she was going to get her back. Diablo wasn’t about to have a debate with her. He was going to take her anyway and had just asked.

‘I can take care of her,’ said Thelma and her words had no hint of truth in them.

She wasn’t sure anymore. She was fighting this battle alone and had no support or whatsoever; this was becoming hard for her with each passing day.

‘I will send someone to come and pick up her clothes. Linda will be moving in with you.’

‘No!’ she shouted getting up, ‘Don’t take Nyasha,’ she said with a hint of plea in her voice.

Now Diablo was starting to suspect something as he had raised his eyebrow while he had got up on his feet. He looked at her with a suspecting look. He sure was suspecting her now. Thelma couldn’t hide the fact that she didn’t want him to go with her bacuse she was afraid of what would become of her once she is with him.

‘I am not going to hurt her,’ said Diablo as if he had read her thought, ‘I am just going to teach her how to control her anger seeing how murderous she has become.’

Thelma raised her eyebrow in surpise.

‘I know everything Thlema, I know that she killed her teacher. I always know.’

Now Thelma was more confused. She now had so many questions running through her mind. Questions like: did he know about the man of God? She should just relax because didn’t know anything about that yet.

At the end of the day Thelma had no power over anything, Nyasha was to move in with Diablo and Linda was to move in with her. Diablo left the house alone and drove away to go and find Nyasha before she kills another innocent person.

Nyasha was already waiting for Eva. She had been sitting in her car waiting for her to walk out alone in the dark. She had already followed her at her house just after they had left the funeral. Eva stayed alone and her parents resided in Malawi. She had moved to Zimbabwe to further her education. If only she knew what Nyasha was about to do to her. She wanted to make some cereal for herself when she noticed there wasn’t any milk in the fridge.

‘Oh come on,’ she said closing the fridge and went to the dining room where she took her wallet and walked out of the house.

Nyasha saw this as an opportunity to attack her. It was already dark outside when Eva was walking to the grocery shop just nearby her house. As she was walking she felt as if someone was following her. Every time she looked back, Nyasha would hide herself. Eva thought maybe she was just hallucinating and thinking a lot especially that Mr Moyo was found dead in his house. She walked faster and when Nyasha was about to attack her, he grabbed her and closed her mouth.

Eva thought she had sounds and looked back.

‘Hello,’ she called out and just saw a black car skidding off.

She took a deep breath and decided to run back home.
