” Max …you’re phone is ringing ” I heard Grace say as she shook me softly I tried to open my eyes and frowned .

” Let me sleep ” I said and snuggled closer .

” your phone is ringing ,it’s an unknown number ” she said and I opened my eyes immediately.

I sat up and took the phone .. immediately then picked up …

” M@ssimo M@ssimo M@ssimo …How has you little getaway been with my preety Daughter ? He asked and I froze .

My eyes went over to grace and I got down from the bed immediately and walked out of the room .

” Mikhail you bastard how dare you ! I spat angrily and he chuckled softly on the other hand.

” Calm down M@ssimo did I struck a nerve ” he asked mockingly and I grit my teeth

” I’d kill you Mikhail …I promise you ” I said and he laughed .

” Really ? And what would you say to Grace ? You killed her father before she could bond with him ..you and I know you won’t be able to watch her get hurt … that’ll be your Doom ” he said and I smirked.

” That’s where you’re mistaken Mikhail if you think she’s my weakness then you definitely don’t know who you’re dealing with …don’t be surprised if I s£nd you her head one of these days ” I said and he fell Quiet on the other end .

” You won’t ….you won’t Dare it M@ssimo ! He said and I caught the call .

Mikhail knew I had feelings for Grace …I need to stay away from her for her safety and make sure she’s fine .

I went back inside the room and she looked at me worriedly .

” C’mon we need to live ” I said the moment I walked back in and she stared at me worriedly.

” What’s wrong? She asked and I stared her sadly.

If things work out as planned ,I’d be hurting Grace more than she’s ever been hurt in her life . …I don’t even think she’d want anything to do with me after this whole game .

It scared me but that was the Game …and I couldn’t be selfish now by wanting to keep her to myself .

” I care about you Grace a lot …”I said as my voice broke and she frowned .

” I know you do , what’s wrong is everything okay ” she asked but I just pulled her into my arms and carressed her hair lovingly .

I heard her sniffing back her tears and I knew she was crying already and probably confused About everything happening.

” Let’s go ” I said and she walked infront while I had my hand at her back .

I drove her back to the mansion and klzzed her l!ps softly .

” Max ” she called.

” Hmmn”

” Be careful” she said and I gave a nod as I drove off .

” Mikhail had the guts to call you ? That ani*mal ” Dad spat Angrily

” By the way what have you been up to lately m@ssimo ? Heard you went on a romantic getaway with your wife ? Have you forgotten the reason you married Grace ?

” What’s going on in this head of yours ! Dad spat Angrily.

My Brothers where there already ,well except Emelio he’d been avoiding home after his fight with Dad .

“Dad scolding me wouldn’t change anything ” I spat and he hit his hand on the table .

Frederico leaned properly on the chair as he tapped his f!ng£r on the table .

“It’ll change a lot of things ,first of all you let mikhail’s eldest daughter leave with the most important files … something that could ruin us for life ,now you’ve let the second daughter make you her teddy bear ” he said mockingly.

” Can we stop talking about Grace ? I asked and he stared at me .

” Love has never helped anyone M@ssimo , that’s why I’ve told you guys over and over again to never allow feelings get in the way of work ….” He said and I rubbed my forehead whilst staring at him .

” I’ve come up with a plan ” I said and they stared at me .

” Max ” Dante called and I refused to look at his Direction as I dropped the files on the table .

“I see you still have your head in the Game ” dad said as he smoked from his pipe .

Sergio looked at me in dissappointment and Frederico just had a blank look on his face .

Kristov looked away and I knew they also didn’t like the idea because they knew it’ll hurt Grace in the long run .

It definitely will .

But right now Grace was far from what I was thinking about …

My phone rang on the table and it was another unknown number .

I stared at it and picked it up.

” Hello ” I said camly .

” I’ve missed your voice ” she said and I immediately felt a sick feeling in my stomach .

” Gina you wh*re ” I spat Angrily as I stood up .

” Aww you still remember my services in bed don’t you hahahaha you really missed me …I take all of you ” she said seductively .

” I need those files Gina. ..what game are you playing with us ? I asked and she knew what I meant because she hadn’t given the files to her father …and not to us too .

She was playing games with Both parties .

” The same game you played with my heart M@ssimo …you never loved me …and when I had it all planned out you chose Grace you f*cking chose my baby sister ?

” I was with you the whole time , we both had the same face M@ssimo ! She said Angrily .

” The files ” I said cutting off her boring complains .

” I would give you the files on one condition ” she said and I listened carefully.

” I want what I always wanted from the beginning which is you ! She said and I smiled.

” Consider it Done ” I said and she laughed from the end .

” I’m not idiot M@ssimo Grace is still in your mansion …, I want us to meet ” she said on the other end.

” Alone ” she said and I ran my f!ng£rs in my hair .

” Choose the venue” I said and heard her chuckle on the other end .

Immediately i cut the call Sergio rubbed his forehead.

” That girl is sick ,I mean did you hear the way she sounded over the phone ? She’s obsessed with you ! He said and Dad smiled .

” This is the best opportunity to get rid of her ” Dad said and we turned to him .

” Dad Gina is not a fool , she’s smart and before she told M@ssimo to meet up ,she Already has something up her sleeves ,Don’t underestimate her for all we know Mikhail has an hand in this …All we need to do is get our hands on those original copy of the files ,the blueprints and everything …then get rid of them “kristov said and Dad stared back .

” Then we should be prepared for whatever happens because trust me of they want it bl**dy ,we should be ready to give them just that ” he said and drank from his gl@ss .

M@ssimo drove off and I watched him live with a sad smile on my face .

I hope everything is okay ?

I walked into the mansion and tried going upstairs when I heard my name .

” Grace ” she called and I took a deep breath as I turned .

” Giovanna ” I said camly .

” Welcome back from your romantic getaway with my son ” she said mockingly and I stared at her blankly .

” Donna ” Lucia said from the opposite end as she drank from her gl@ss of alcohol .

” You know what Giovanna I don’t have time for this nons£nse right now …” I said and tried to walk away.

‘ when are you planning on giving the group an heir ! She asked and I s√¢ked under my breath .

” I’m still wondering if I married you or your son ” I asked and she glared at me.

” You must be barren Grace … because knowing my son he likes it Raw ,….you definitely don’t have the womb to bore him children” she snapped and I stared at her like she’d lost it .

Was she for real ? How can she be so unfeeling to say that to me ?

Even if she never liked me from day one , calling me barren was just too much to take .

“Leave my son alone, Lucia has already been pregnant for M@ssimo three good times but had to get rid of the kids because they were not ready ….but you been his legal wife can’t even bore him one child ….! She said and I stared at Lucia then back at her .

” You know what ? I refuse to exchange Words with you because I know what you’re looking for …and as for Lucia …I pity you ,you think Giovanna wants a wh*re for her son ? She’s just trying to get rid of me and you’re her puppet in this game ,when she succeeds she’d look for someone suitable for her son , Not a woman who has obviously slept with half the men in the mafia ” I spat mockingly and stormed upstairs .

Immediately I got to my room tears sl!pped out off my eyes and I wiped them off .

I was already hurt with whatever happened and now Giovanna just had to add to my problems.

I picked up my phone and called Yvonne .

” Hey Missy finally back from your honeymoon ? She asked teasingly.

” Honeymoon ? We just spent sometime together ,can you call Dylan over …I wanna start my training already ” I said and she paused .

” Oh you sound pretty serious ….” she said with a chuckle.

” I am serious Yvonne , Gina wasn’t joking the other time she had a knife on my throat” I said and she chuckled.

” Sure I’d just call him up ” she said and the line went dead .

I decided to change into something suitable…just before I could walk out of the room my eyes met a Book on my table .

I stared at it wondering where I’d seen it and as I turned to leave I remembered .

” The diary ” I mumbled as I stared at it .

How could I have forgotten something so important ? I walked over to it and picked it up .

I opened it and frowned .

This wasn’t Natalie’s Diary , it belonged to my mom , I didn’t see mom as someone who writes down what she feels .

I sat to read it and my phone rang , I stared at it then at my phone .

” Maybe I’d read it when I get back ” I said to myself as I dropped it on the bed and strolled out .
