Episode 14

The voice took the man aback, he lowered the cutlass and looked back at who shouted.

Clara was just dumb and motionless, she could only see things but couldn’t deduce what was happening.

She’d seen the man raising up the cutlass but dosen’t knew what he was about to do.

The man was surprised as the old man walked in, with his walking stick.
“she’s not meant for ritual, she’s my daughter”
the old man said, peeking at her.
“your daughter?”
the man asked surprised, and visibly shaken.
how would he change his mind?

The old man h’d told him to do what he was supposed to do and he was about doing it only to be stopped by him.

They both knew the consequence of not annihilating a victim at first instance,
it means the man would suffer for it with his life.

He became scared of his life.
clara could see fear boldly written on the man’s eyes.

“sorry, just take heart and be brave, you’ll have to die. Be the ruthless man you’re.”
the old man said with no emotion.

While the man shrugged and awaited his death.

Suddenly, a huge black eagle flew into the room and perched on the man’s head.

The eagle shrieked in excitement and it echoed loudly around the room.

The eagle went for his eyes and detach the eyes from its socket.

Blood gushed out of his eye socket, welled and filled the holes.

The man groaned and winced in pain, his legs couldn’t stand him anymore and he fell to the ground with a loud thud.

The eagle flew and flapped its wings as it went up.

It descended back on him and started tearing his body apart, ripping off his vital parts.

The evil eagle dismembered and eviscerate his body.

The eagle used its beak tore his stomache opened and fed on his heart.

Clara couldn’t behold the horrific sight, her malfunctioning brain relayed the message to her, while she freaked out and screamed.

The old man stood transfixed, watching keenly as the eagle mutilated the body.
He smiled as she saw clara freaked out.

The eagle was done excavating the body.

The eagle flapped its wings simultenously, while a sudden wave of breeze curled in, and the eagle flew out leaving the remains of the man’s body.

The old man walked over to clara and held her hands.

He started enchanting some series of words.

They gradually fade away and disapeared.

They appeared in his house.

The old man cast out the spell in her body. While she felt a sudden wave of scales leave her body.

She staggered backwards as she saw the strange old man standing in front of her.

She took a second glance at him, it was the herbalist man.

Her expression changed to a puzzle look.
How she got there was a misery to her, she couldn’t remember anything.

The old man sensed the confusion in her face and he sat her down.

“don’t be afraid my daugher, you wanted to see me, so i ordered the whirl wind to bring you here.”

her eyes popped open as she remembered what had happened to her.

She swallowed the lump that came to her throat.

What was she thinking before?

She heaved a sigh of relief as she thanked her stars. She thought she’d fell into the wrong hands.

“Baba, so you mean, you sent it to get me?”
she asked bewilderd.

“yes, my daughter, its seems something bothering you.”

the old man said seeing her worried face.
‘Should i tell him my initial plan or i keep it to myself?’
she contemplated within herself.

“baba, yes i have a problem but not just a problem”

“what’s it?, is it about your friend, that we did….”

the old man couldn’t complete his question as clara interrupted him.

“yes baba, she is the one o, she’s stubborn, she is still with him, after that eerhm!.. You damaged her womb”
“ah!.”

the old man exclaimed in suprise.
“she’d snatched ben from me and now she threatened to kill me, if i don’t back off.”

clara lied while she formed tears in her eyes, so that the old man would pity her.

“so, what do you think we do to her now?, should we take her out of the way?”
the old man asked her while she contemplated for awhile before she spoke.

“Yes, we should take her out but not now, i want her to see me take over what belongs to me”

“if that’s the case, i will prepare a love portion for you, which would make him come back to you, that would enhance you to deal with that husband snatcher.”

“yes, yes, that’s a good idea baba”
she said happily.

“okay, let me go get it for you”
the old man said and stood up, he went in to his specialised room.

The old man came back and sat down on the couch.

“take this”
the man said strecthing out a ring to her with a folded paper.

Clara collected it examing the ring.
“that ring would help you overcome any evil attack from her and it would also lead you to me, just call on me anytime you wish to see me. The content of that paper is a grounded ifa leaf, you will mix it with your powder and apply it to your face anytime you’re with him but never put on the ring
whenever you’re with him, and you must not sleep with him for a week or you die!”
“whaaaaat?”
