LAST EPISODE

Magnus cocked his riffle , he was running towards the dormitory, heart palpitating like the hoof beats of galloping horses, he saw nurse Amaka pointing him to Eno’s room .

“It’s inside there ! It’s inside there .”

Magnus jumped into the lighted by a fluorescent bulbs, he could see the streams of blood flowing like the Niger river , dripping down the duvet covered in blood and white grey matter.

“Jesus Christ! He screamed.”

And another sound of multiple shots were heard ringing like a multiple blast of Christmas knockout . Fear gripped everyone, who were fully awake . They waited pipping from behind windows and doors, to see who it was , that would step out. The compound was graveyard quiet, all heart racing and waiting in suspense .

Enobong stepped out into the morning light, covered in blood, gun blazing, she had a pistol on left hand , a the riffle on her right hand ready to fire.

“Ekaette take this gun, I’ve chambered it, stand at the gate any worker trying to escape ,Point the gun at them ,press this trigger here do not let anyone go out .”

She ordered the fear striken Eno, whose body was ghost white, her mouth, was rambling incoherent gibberish, she went from room to room , searching for the unfortunate Hyena men who were paid to abuse and get them pregnant, she shot multiple times at them until she was sure they were stone dead . She didn’t listen to their plea, she went into the clinic, she shot Nurse Amara in the chest , the red blood slowly swam covering her white gown,Eno went to the cafeteria, there she found the chef, who was begging for his life , Eno shot him in the face, she swept the room looking for more Of madam Gold’s workers . She found nurse Amaka shaking where she was hiding behind an office table .

“Come out you witch! ”

Eno screamed, flames of fire burning in her heart . She began to cry

“You evil vile woman come out now !

Nurse Amaka was fidgeting and dripping water from all pores on her body .

“Please don’t kill me Eno! I was only following order! I was working, I was only looking for a way to fend for my family, Biko don’t kill me Eno! I’m sorry for all what I did .”

Eno was infuriated by her pleas .

“Shut up your mouth Amaka! You’re the most wicked among them all, you derive pleasure in torturing us, you get joy from tormenting us, you loved treating us like dogs , and you’re a dog , because I know you have called your master already, but I still have use for you alive, move out, shut up your gutter! If you say another word. I swear to God I’ll shoot you in the head.”

The all powerful nurse Amaka became polite and respectful, she became smaller , she almost tripped over the body of nurse Amara, the reality for romancing death , stared her in the face.

Eno saw Chibuzor the first man who raped and deflowered her six years ago, running towards the gate , she screamed at Ekaette.

“Stop him! Shoot him! Stop him!”

But she stood dazzled and confused from the loud bangs of gun shots , she allowed Chibuzor fumble to open the gate and he was outside running for his dear life , Eno abandoned Nurse Amaka and ran after him, she shoved the stunned Ekaette out of the road, and ran outside into the morning light, she saw Chibuzor escaping into the horizon, she shot rapidly at him, he kept on running.

Eno was pissed at Ekaette for allowing him escape. She returned back to the compound .

“Eno…you .. you … Killed… All this people?

Ekaette was in a state of shock.

“Yeah I killed them! They’re not people they’re all animals ! Now give me that riffle if you cannot use it ! Ekaette I don’t like what you did! How can you let that beast escape? ”

Ekaette looked for a place to sit down .Eno quarreled Ekaette in their local Ibibio dialect. Nurse Amaka had ran into a room of one of the girls, and locked the door, the girls were also scared and confused, thinking she would return to their rooms and attack them.

” Now all of you girls in the dormitory come out now!” Eno screamed . They were hesitating, she put the riffle in rapid and fired into the air.

“I said all of you ladies come out now , if I wanted to kill you, you would all be lying dead silent now.”

Carolina was the first who came out , one by one the girls began to step out of their dormitory rooms .

“Where is nurse Amaka?”

She asked , none of the ladies had answer , Eno went to the last locked door .

“You girls better open this door now ! Or I’ll shoot into the room now! Why would want to hide nurse Amaka? I don’t want your blood on my hand , but she has to pay! For her crimes , open the door.”

The girls wrestled with Nurse Amaka who didn’t want the door to be opened, because she felt death waiting for her outside the door , they eventually overpowered her and opened the door , Eno pointed her gun at her .

“Now move!”

She creamed at the top of her voice , nurse Amaka began to beg .

“Now my dear sisters , I know they’re some of you like me , who were tricked and kidnapped to this place. For six years I’ve been in captivity here, I gave birth to three children, they were all taken from me and sold, with the help of all those people laying dead in your rooms and the clinic, today I’ve bought our freedom, I killed them all, I offer you freedom, though I know like you Chinemerem you have been returning here for four years to sell your own children, even you Joyce and Agnes, I think you’re foolish to sell your kids , just to have money to live the glamorous life of iphones and designers clothes and bag.”

She addressed the ladies thirty five of them, fifteen were slaves like herself, brought by Eno’s Aunt .the other twenty were ladies who came to sell their unwanted babies.

“Nurse Amaka I want to borrow one of your jean trousers and leather jacket, with your fine boots won’t you borrow me?”

Eno teased the rude nurse.

“I’ll borrow you, you can take all my clothes and money, don’t just kill me, I’ve my kids at home.”

Eno ignored her , and followed the nurse to staff quarters and changed her blood stained nightgown, into a jean trousers and black Jacket, with a comfortable sneakers shoe while nurse Amaka layed face down.

She ransacked her room, and collected the hundred thousand naira she found on her drawer cabinet.

“Ladies let’s ransack this place,search all the corps and retrieve the money you can find on them.”

Eno ordered the Ladies , they got the keys to the offices, and ransacked the whole place ,they found five hundred thousand naira in Madam Gold’s office, after checking the bodies, they realized one million five hundred thousand.

They were ready to live the place , Eno looked at her prison for the past six years, the graveyards of girls she had known , tears drip down her ebony face.

“Nurse Amaka, you’re going to drive that orphanage coaster bus, those who want to go with us will go, but those who want to go on Their own can.”

Nurse Amaka was protesting, saying she couldn’t drive the big orphanage bus.

“Is either you drive it or I shoot you.”

The nurse jumped on the driver seat after Carolina got the key from the security room . Eno went to the room and search for more magazines for the riffles, she got three full AK-47 magazines she load one on her riffle. Ekaette was sitting at the back tears pouring down her eyes , Eno gave Carolina the Barretta pistol to watch Nurse Amaka as she drove, that she shouldn’t hesitate to shoot her if she made a funny move .

Eno opened the gate , the day was fully awake, the sun had woken up from the west.

Chibuzor was hit in the stomach , by one of Eno’s bullet, he could see his intestine pouring out , he was terrified of the river of blood flowing from his stomach,his vision was blurry from the lost of blood, he kept falling and rising , he didn’t want to die, he ran until he got to his community.

“Help oo! Somebody help me o! Chineke! I need help! ”

Neighbors who recognized him, asked what the problem was, he lay on the ground raising up his shirt for them to see .

“Chineke! Ahhhhh!” They screamed as they saw his severed intestine pouring out .

“Chibuzor who shot you?”

They had all been hearing the gun shots but didn’t know It was close to their village.

” Girl … Girl in the facility! Eno! She kil..she… Kill.. she….kill…. Everybody!!”

Some neighbors ran to call his parents.

“Chibuzor see what you brought on yourself! I kept warning you to stop what you’re doing with Madam Gold! You refused to listen now see how your life has ended!!”

His mother said , while wailing for her dying son.

Not everyone in the village supported madam Gold’s illicit business but her connection to people in power made them scared to report. Chibuzor breathe his last breath , took a long breath and passed away in front of everyone there . Tears was swimming down his eyes and regrets sucked at his soul, he knew the angels of hell awaited his soul .

The youth leader organized youths, who blocked the way the bus was to pass, they had dane guns, staff , clubs machete and other dangerous weapons, they kept shooting in the air to scare the approaching vehicle, when they were close to the roadblock Eno got down, she shot multiple shots into the air the youths dispersed into a million direction, none of them wanted to die for madam Gold, because of the projects she had done in their community.

Eno removed the wood from the road and they drove safely to the main road .

When they got to the main road Eno saw some police vans blaring sirens entering the untared road leading to the facility, she was relieved they didn’t meet them on thr road .she ordered nurse Amaka to come down while she addressed the girls.

“Ladies I’ve one million five hundred thousand here , I’ll share this money amongst you, so you can find your way home ” she gave forty thousand to each of the girls so they could find their way home.

Eno and Carolina embraced her .

“Eno let’s go back to Eket.”

They begged her . She refused, she still had uncompleted mission.

”

Carolina and the other girls who were slaves embraced and thanked her Carolina returned the handgun to her , which she put in her jacket pocket,seven of them from Eket and two from Uyo, they left for the main park , to board a vehicle back to Uyo .

“Now nurse Amaka get up from the ground, you’re going to take me to your madam’s house.”

She couldn’t do anything, she drove for ten minutes and stopped in front of a magnificent mansion,

Are we here? She nodded.

“Enobong I beg you in the name of Jesus don’t kill me! I’ve two children at home, if you kill me they’ll stuff .”

Enobong couldn’t hold back the tears .

” But for six years you watched as we were raped , and our babies taken from us never to be seen again?”

She used the butt of her pistol to hit her hard behind the head and she slumped on the Steering wheel. Eno walked gently to the gate of the mansion. She knocked and the security man opened the gate to meet a gun pointing at his face

“Take me to your madam, If you make a single noise, you’ll meet your God today.”

The security man at the gate trembled as he led her to the house. Eno signalled him to knock .

“Who is there ?”

Madam Gold asked being apprehensive after the call from nurse Amaka .

“Madam is me Thomas.”

Madam Gold opened the door to meet a gun frowning at her face.

” Madam Ukamaka Gold! The philanthropic, and charitable she devil! Now sit down there ! ”

Her husband heard voices downstairs and came to investigate.

“Oh you’re welcome sir! Please join your wife on the floor . Is there anyone else in your house ?

Madam Gold shook her head. Then two of her teenage children came down to the ground floor.

“Eno what are you doing here? ”

Eno ignored Madam Gold’s question.

“Honey how do you know this lady!

Madam Gold ignored her husband’s question.

“Are you aware that your wife kept me and other girls slaves for six years, bringing men to abuse us, every night to make babies for her to sell and make millions? I guess that’s what you used to build this fine majestic house?”

The man was sincerely confused.

“Honey what is this lady saying? Is there Truth to it?”

Mrs Ukamaka couldn’t look at her husband.

“Ukamaka what is wrong with you! How can you let the devil use you? You asked for an NGO I opened one for you, you asked for an orphanage I built one for you, you asked for a Private school I built two for you, Uka, we have billions in our account, why could you do such wickedness!!”

She was silent.

“Where are my children? Three of my children? I need them back!”

Eno screamed madam Gold was panicking.

“In my room! Upstairs in my room.”

Eno ordered them to queue up in a single file, they marched to the room upstairs, where Eno searched all of them , and collected their phones, before marching down to another room, where she made them lie down faced down before locking the door,then she marched Madam Gold at gun point to her room. Mrs Ukamaka, opened a closet room files and stacks of cash filled the place, she got two out two of the files, while matching on bundles of money ,with a shaky hand , handed it over to Eno.

“here in this files are the address of two of the homes, We gave your children for adoption.”

Eno was mad at her for saying her babies were given up for adoption,

“Shut up your mouth! You vile woman! I didn’t ask you to get me pregnant! I didn’t ask you to sell my babies! Where does my wicked aunt live ?

Enobong asked her.

“I don’t know where she lives, but she has a restaurant on Asaba road . Her place is called madam Sharp Sharp Bar and Restaurant.”

Eno checked the files and saw where her children were.

Enobong shot her in the back of the head, the bullet opened a big gash at the front of her face, she fell down face ,like a drunk elephant, the thudding sound shook the whole first floor, her family knew she was gone .

jerked and struggled, before laying rock dead, her daughter and maid ran up from the kitchen to check where the noise was from, Eno also held them hostage.

“Don’t be afraid , I won’t shoot at you if you would cooperate, I want you to fill this bag up with bundles of those money, if you try to scream or run, you’ll join your mother.

She made them empty a bag pack and loaded it with cash ,she took over fifty bundles from the over four hundred bundles of the one thousand naira notes .Eno carried the heavy stacks on money on her pocket , put the pistol in her pocket and locked them up in the room with madam Gold’s body and went away .

She saw Nurse Amaka still sleeping in the bus , she wondered if police would ever arrest her. She took a Uber to Asaba road, she alighted and searched amongst the restaurant were she saw the most beautiful and gigantic, with the name madam Sharp Sharp. Eno stepped.

“Eno! What are you doing here?”

Madam sharp sharp creamed.

Eno could see fear in her eyes as she pulled out the gun and pointed it at her head.

“I came to send you to hell, where you belong.”

Eno squeeze the trigger and released two shots into her head, and more into chest , customers and staff at Madam Gold’s restaurant scampered for safety, Eno went back to the cab. They drove to Havana estate where she recovered one of her babies from a rich couple. She held the driver at gun point as she made him drive to Lagos to the second family, along the road she explained her story to the man, who she promised to pay five hundred thousand naira If he could take her to Lagos and down to Uyo, her daughter who was two years old was crying, she bought baby food and calmed her, she immediately clinged itself to her , the baby felt secured in her hands . She saw passion, she cried as she held her baby. The arrived at Lagos in the night Eno bought food And drink for them at a canteen, they slept in the car till morning. The news had broken , about the Baby Factory in Aba, how scores of people where killed .

The next morning they drove to estate in Victoria island and traced the building , Eno knocked when the maid opened the door, Eno placed a gun on her head.

” Madam I’m here to take my son.”

The woman was confused.

“The son you got from Madam Gold, where is he ? Be fast or I’ll send you to meet her.”

Eno saw her son Bassey coming down from the stairs she grabbed him, the five year old boy screamed, but was quiet immediately Eno kissed him.

“Baby you’re my son, I’m taking you home.”

The boy held on to her body as she rushed back to the vehicle, the baby girl was sleeping, Eno enterred the vehicle and they drove out of Lagos .

They got to Uyo In the night of rhe next day , Eno gave the driver five bundles of the money from her bag, five hundred thousand and he drove away, It was too dark to go back to Eket, she booked a room In the hotel , where she and her children slept. She couldn’t get her third child because they was no record of him. She wept all night, she counted the money she was left with five million four hundred thousand naira. The next morning she charted an Uber, that took her and her children to Eket. The news had already been broken by Carolina and Ekaette and the other girls how Eno said them, Mrs Ekamma was so worried that her daughter could die looking for revenge .

Her mum was waiting at home around 12 noon when the Uber drove in . Eno got down , her siblings who were all grown up, ran to her and embrace her , she couldn’t recognize some of them, especially the boys , they were taller than her , she her mum, she ran and embraced her , they both wept bitterly, for six years she didn’t see her mother.

“Who have the kids?”

Mrs Ekamma asked.

“They’re your Grand children

”

Mrs Ekamma embraced the kids , Eno paid the driver and he went away . Her siblings Carried her bag in, neighbors were pouring In to greet her.

“What of Emabong my sister?”

She asked Enobong when they were alone.

“She’s dead , I killed her.”

Mrs Ekamma was very sadb, she cried, Enobong had chosen the wrong path earlier in life.
