Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 11

At noon, Victoria was not just furious, she had also become worried about James ignoring her calls. In two hours, she would arrive and she wasn’t sure James would pick them up, since he wasn’t returning her calls.

Laura: Mummy, are we there yet?

Victoria: Not yet dear but, soon we will.

James: Sir, can I go now?

Idowu: No, you can’t.

James: Why not sir?

Idowu: Cus it doesn’t make sense. Why not you use my phone?

James: I would have done that but, I don’t have her number in my head.

Idowu: Oh, I see but, if you show up, they might kill all of you. If you don’t go, they would probably hold them hostage and demand something. That’s where I can help.

James: Okay, you don’t want me to go, can you send your bodyguards?

Idowu: No!, it will only cause a shoot out on that street because, I heard Tina’s guys are really stubborn.

James: Tina, call Ola and talk to him, please.

Tina: I doubt Ola would listen to me at this point.

James: just call him.

Tina: (looked at Idowu)

Idowu: (signalled her to make the call).

Ola: let’s leave now. It’s almost evening. We have to go to that bustop now.

Felix: Ola, what exactly are your plans?

Ola: Kidnap her daughter.

Felix: And the mother?

Ola: If she tries to stop me, she dies.

Felix: And, if the father shows up?

Ola: We’ll kill all of them.

Felix: Just like that?

Ola: Yes, just like that.

Felix: Hmmmmmm

Ola: Get me a knife, I don’t want to use a gun.

Felix: Where did you keep it?

Ola: It’s below the bed, inside that bag. Bring the pocket knife.

Felix: Okay.

Ola’s phone rang. He frowned as he discovered it was Tina.

Tina: Hello Ola.

Ola: Yes?

Tina: Ola, I know you took James’ phone so, I want to know what your plans are.

Ola: I can’t tell you what my plans are but, I assure you if anyone comes close to that bustop today. His wife and kid will die.

Tina: But, they are not the ones you need.

Ola: The only way, I will let them go is if James shows up.

Tina: What exactly did that guy do to you?

Ola: Richard is dead.

Tina: He didn’t kill Richard.

Ola: I know, but his people did and someone has to pay.

Tina: cease every operation right now.

Ola: Why should I?

Tina: Don’t forget, I give the orders.

Ola: Well, I don’t take orders from you anymore. (He hung up).

Tina: Ola is not joking about this.

James: About killing me?. I don’t care.

Idowu: You don’t care?. What about your wife and kid? Who would take care of them?

Tina: If you show up, I can’t guarantee that they won’t kill you all.

Idowu: Just do as we say.

James knew they were right but, doing nothing was killing him. He wanted to trust Idowu and Tina and just wait for their help when needed but he was overly worried.

Gbenga carried six guys to Idowu’s house in a bid to kill him now that he had been given permission by Mr. Johnson. Gbenga couldn’t drive yet because of his arm, therefore, he was aided by one of the guys. As soon as the gateman opened the gate, he drove into the compound recklessly towards the building like he was going to hit it.

Gbenga: (got down from the car). Get down quickly. Make sure nobody escapes. Idowu should be in his room by now. If he’s not there, check the library. Search everywhere.

Guys: Yes sir.

Some of the bodyguards in the house already knew of the coup so, there were no oppositions from them but, a few of them were unaware and were still loyal to Idowu. Those who refused to surrender were killed mercilessly by Gbenga and his guys. One of the guys who were still loyal to Idowu managed to secure a safe place for a while. He put a phone call across to Idowu informing him of the ruckus Gbenga was causing in the house.

Idowu: Gbenga?

Unknown: Yes, Gbenga.

Idowu: Are you sure, it’s Gbenga?

Unknown: Yes. He has some of your guys with him. They are compelling others to join them saying that Mr. Johnson has given them permission to overtake your position.

Idowu: What? Mr. Johnson?. When did this happen?

Unknown: I didn’t know sir but, I just wanted to let you know that you should not come close to this house. Gbenga has been yelling out for you. If he sees you, you’re dead.

Someone banged the door open, revealing the hideout of the guy who was informing Idowu.

Idowu: (heard a gunshot)

Idowu: Hello, hello, hello. (ended the call).

James: Idowu what is going on?

Idowu: I don’t really know but, I know that my house is on fire. Almost all my men are dead. Gbenga is taking over and they said, he has the permission of our oga. It’s only a matter of time before he discovers that I’m not hiding there. He’ll come for me here.

Tina: is it not Gbenga whom you said was like a son to you.

James: What’s next now?

Idowu: We have to leave this place immediately.

Tina: To?

Idowu: Let’s go to your house.

Tina: My house?

Idowu: Yes, your house. Is there a problem?

Tina: Of course, there is a problem. My parents would be back in a week.

Idowu: We would leave your house before the week runs out. Those drugs in the car can solve a lot of problems once we sell it. Our client will be in town two days from now so, we just need a hideout.

Tina: Hmmmm, okay.

James: But wait, what of my wife and child? You don’t have any bodyguards with you now. How are we going to rescue them if they are eventually taken.

Idowu: For the next two or three days, we would have to deceive Ola till I get that money then maybe I would be able to get guys but for now, I can’t afford to pay anyone. But for now, let’s leave this place.

Tina: I’m giving you guys three or four days to sort yourself out because, as of now, my gateman would be very furious at me for bringing two men into the house.

Idowu: We understand. Can we leave now?

Tina: (looked at the wall clock). It’s 5:00pm. Let’s go.

James: My wife should be approaching by now.

Idowu: I understand but, you can’t show up now. Otherwise, you all would die.

Tina: (Took her car key). Let’s go now.

Ola: This is the address she gave to you right?

Felix: Yes, this is it. (handed a piece of paper over to Ola).

Ola: So, I think, we should go to their house.

Felix: Why?

Ola: she would definitely not wait at the bustop, if nobody comes to pick her up.

Felix: Okay, assuming we succeed.

Ola: What do you mean by assuming?. We will succeed.

Felix: I know but, when we take her daughter, we are going to need a car. We can’t just carry her around, people will suspect.

Ola: That’s why, we are going to borrow my friend’s car.

Felix: Which friend?

Ola: you don’t know him. Just go to her house, I’ll meet you there in thirty minutes. I hope you’re with your gun.

Felix: Of course, I’m with it.

Ola: Good. Don’t mess this up. Go to her house. I’l join you. If there’s any problem, give me a phone call.

Felix: Okay, I’ve heard you.

Victoria arrived at the park by 5:30pm. James was not in sight so, she was way angry than before.

Victoria: so this man refused to come and pick us. He will meet me at home today.

Victoria managed to carry her bags along with her six year old daughter to the front of the compound. She was sweating profusely when she got there. Some of the neighbors rushed out to help her. Among the neighbors who carried her bag was Felix. As soon as Felix saw her, he figured she’d be Victoria seeing her bags and the little girl she was with.

Neighbors: Welcome

Victoria: (out of breath). Thanks

Neighbors: Laura don be big girl.

Victoria wondered how Laura had grown considering that they had only been away for a week but, she still had to say something.

Victoria: Abi na.

As they got to the front of her door, she informed.

Victoria: Drop am here.

Neighbors: Okay na, we go come for our share of village something later.

Victoria: (Which village something?). No wahala na.

Neighbor: Ehen, since almost two days now, we never see oga James for here ooo.

Victoria: (James?, where could that stupid man had gone?).

Victoria didn’t want the neighbors to suspect that she didn’t know of her husband’s whereabouts so, she answered.

Victoria: Errrrm, I know. im go come back very soon. Thank you.

They all started walking away, she opened her purse for her key but, she noticed a particular guy was still standing with her.

Victoria: Thank you ooo. (she smiled at the guy).

Felix:( raised his shirt up revealing a gun).

Victoria: (hid Laura behind her immediately)

Felix: Open the door, let’s go inside, nothing will happen but, if you scream or do anything stupid, I’ll use the gun.

Victoria: (scared) Okay.

Felix: Open the door.

As Victoria opened the door, she regretted ever leaving her parents house for Lagos. What did she do to deserve being held at gun point. She wasn’t rich so, she was aware that money wasn’t the reason.

Felix: (dragged her things inside as soon as the door was open).

Victoria: (held Laura’s hand very tightly).

Felix: Oya, shut the door now!

Victoria: (stammered). Okay, okay, ooookay.
